Not a bad idea. I just wonder if the 6in lift kit knuckles would allow it.

I recently moved out to Seattle and found that having a 6in lift is a real pain in the butt living in the city. Has anyone ever gone from 6in lift back to stock height or just a lower lift kit, 2-3in? If so, do you have a parts list? Is it worth the money? Don't care much about how much down time, considering I don't drive around much in the city. Any input or links would be appreciated.

I've got 6in blocks in the rear. My noise is coming from the front left or right. Where was your clunking noise coming from originally?

I'm certain that it's coming from the front, my friend and I tried replicating the sound, but it s so damn inconsistent that we can tell if its left front or right front, but definitely the front.

Hey everyone, I've got a 6in rough country lift on my 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 LTD. I noticed recently that whenever I reverse park on a slight incline or decline. Anyone know what it possibly be? I've checked my tie rod ends and sway bar links and they seem fine. I dont see any signs of rubbing or wear from the times I've checked it. When I first got the kit installed it didnt make a squeek, but recently I noticed the clunk has gotten louder and I have no idea what it could be at this point. One buddy mentioned maybe axles are popping in and out of place, is that possible, or has anyone had this happen? Any input would be helpful.

Bump, now this has me thinking that my swap bar is making this clunking noise when I reverse into a spot...Im curious to see if anyone has seen this mythical sway bar conversion kit. From the research, I just did, looks like Jeeps do this...but havent heard of one for our trucks.

I’m definitely down to follow this thread. 37s on our trucks is pretty rare from what I’ve seen. Good luck trying to find the happy medium fo ryour final drive. I took a look at the chart, and I’m voting for 3.90. Seems like the balance between perform every and the gas mileage you’re looking for. Still some extra room if you want to go 35s in the future and it would just get peppier. Good luck with the build!

Is anyone running a 4in or 6in lift kit on their 2.7L?(pics would be appreciated too) if so, how much has that affected your gas mileage?

I work in Falls Church, VA and I have a 2022 Silverado Custom 2.7L

I'm at around 2500 miles so far, drove it off the lot 12/31/22. I bought the 2.7L Custom LTD. Now that I've read over this thread, it really makes me thing about the few times that my 2.7 custom shifted really hard into second gear or when shifting into reverse. It's been pretty random. I did also notice this afternoon while rolling in traffic that there was some slight hesitation and jerking for a second or two...

This is exactly the thread I was looking for. Love the functionality and aesthetics of an overland build. I haven't seen anyone on this thread with a 2.7L...I guess I volunteer as tribute! Ya'll keep posting those inspiring pics and I'll be sure to build something special! Thanks again for the inspiration!

@Dirk13 I agree, it can definitely be opened with a pry bar, but it's definitely a little more piece of mind than the soft roll up or the soft tri fold. Any of the soft covers probably can be torn with a sharp object. I figured the hard tri fold would be the nice balance between heightened security and hefty prices. I sure would love for one of those Diamondback covers for like $1800.

Another positive point to getting this one, it lays flush, almost like this is what all of our truck should've came with from factory...the GM accessory ones all add 1.5-2in to bed height.

I've had the soft roll-up cover from GM, but that was put on by mistake by the dealer. Seemed like it was pretty darn good with keeping water out. Really easy to remove and definitely gives you almost the entire bed back when rolled up. latch system was pretty solid as well. My biggest reasons I didnt want it was because that wasn't part of the deal I worked out when I purchased the truck and I wanted added security of a hard tri-fold. When I went back to the dealer to have them replace it with the tri-fold cover that was part of the deal I agreed, but I forgot to specify the hard version, so they went ahead and placed a soft tri-fold on just to hold up their side of the deal. I'm planning on selling this soft tri fold so I can get the hard tri-fold for the added security and I'd love to have the option to pull the latch open on either side and not have to go to both sides just to undo the rear most third of the tri-fold. I test drove trailboss that had the hard tri-fold with the pull string latch that unlatched both sides and 2 kick stands for the forward most third of the cover. Still trying to find out which one it was. It was probably the most convenient hard tri-fold.

Stock RST wheels with the more aggressive tires look great!

Hey All! As of 12/31/21, I'm a proud owner of a Shadow Gray Metallic 2022 Silverado LTD Custom Crew Cab 2.7L 4x4! Roughly 875miles on it now. I live in the DC metropolitan area so my driving is just about a 50/50 split. I'm hand calculating around 20-21mpg, but my truck is saying 17.5-18.1. I'm assuming that the truck will get a little more accurate with more miles added?
