  1. OH. It helps if i go back to find full context lol. Im just trying to find what exhaust kit i can do without voiding my new trucks warranty, the stock exhaust is too quiet for my liking with the 6.2.
  2. Doesnt answer my question but ok. Wanted to know what the normal operating temps are for the tranny and what overheating temps are.
  3. Thanks. I found that thread earlier and when i tried to recall i couldnt find it again. Exactly what i was looking for.
  4. I know inside the door, theres a sticker showing the final build date. But im curious where i can find the build date of my 6.2 engine? Thanks
  5. If you like blown out rear ends and tranny's that dont last buy dodge.
  6. To be fair, its hard to push more power out of v8's with how hard the epa is cracking down on them. Soon as you try to push more power, the epa steps in and waters it down with more extreme requirements than before. Thats why you see 4 bangers and 6 cylinders with ground breaking power but not v8 because 8 cylinders happens to be "more polluting" in their heads.
  7. Last i checked the 6.2 still puts out more than 430 lb ft torque. So no, not more torque than my v8, plus i wont ever have to wait for the turbo to spool up to produce that power. No turbo lag, no crappy 4 banger sound with a "fart can" that most people will end up doing. Plus, when towing, you get just as bad fuel mileage as a v8 with that 4 banger. I really dont see where you are going with this? If you want a 4 banger that bad just go buy a honda or toyota.
  8. 5.3 makes 383 lb ft of torque and the 2.7 is 348 lb ft of torque so try again on that one. Plus, would you really give up a NA v8 making those numbers just to drive a boosted 4 banger? 4 bangers are trash and always will be, sad it needs boost to make only decent numbers.
  9. Whats there to update with the v8's? Just curious
  10. Mines gotten up to 198 according to the dash but never higher. Curious what yours have gotten to with the 10 speeds.
  11. I shouldn't have said the engine itself is a lemon. I meant to say that the design around it is a lemon design. Not the engine design itself, just the components around it and those that dictate how it operates electrically. If emissions did not exist, diesels would be the greatest creation to exist. With emissions existing, i prefer gas engines. If you were able to get dpf delete kits still in 2022, diesel would continue to be my go to. Thanks to biden and the epa, diesels are now a hard pass for me.
  12. I went from a 6 speed 5.3 to a 10 speed 6.2 and the power difference is night and day.
  13. So like 350 hp and 390 ft lb torque for the 6.2 to the wheels?
  14. Im just curious of the wheel power for the 5.3 and 6.2, assuming GM's specs for the engines they list is crank power. Thanks
  15. Thanks. I still dislike the dash, too, lol.
  16. Is it a package option or something?
  17. So did yours have a lifter failure or are you going on about a he said she said ?
  18. Ive seen that happen a lot to the 3.0 diesels. Havent seen it happen to the gassers, ever. I think its a design flaw in the 3.0 diesel and its a lemon of an engine personally.
  19. I mean. The fuel door even has a sticker telling you to fuel up with 91 octane... And the manual tells you to use 91 octane... So you have two indicators off the get go. People have destroyed engines by being ignorant and using the wrong fuel, i remember the turbo'd 4 bangers from gm resulting in cracked pistons because people ran 87 octane when it required 91 octane. It helps to know what you are buying and not to be ignorant.
  20. I really hate that shifter on the center console. Its a friggin truck, why would they do away with the column shifter. I dont like the interior refresh at all even the dash looks awful. Looks like some feminist liberal tried to design the truck to look like a ferrari on the inside.
  21. Thanks. The squeal only happens at one spot in the rpm and its a faint noise. I only barely heard it one day while cruising at a steady rpm. Is it normal for the 10l80 transmission to have a slight delay from 1st to 2nd gear? Could be the trans is breaking in still. Only got a little under 180 miles on the truck.
  22. Is it normal to hear a slight squeal around 1100 or so rpm's on light loads? Might be 2100 or so rpm's, on the 6.2 engine. What fluids should i change on my first oil change for the "break in process"? Transmission, transfer case, diffs, oil, filters? Is the transmission unnecessary since it doesnt develop metal particles like an engine and diff's will? What are the better air filters and oil filters to be getting for the 6.2 engine? I want good quality stuff for my truck, nothing "economy" or "cheap". Thank you.
  23. Thanks. I am good to go then. I have other questions. Am unsure if i should make another thread or just ask here?
