Integrated trailer brake controller not working
SoxFan904 replied to RNAV's topic in Troubleshooting, Warranty & Recalls
Thats what I was afraid of. This is very discouraging now because I spent all the money to upgrade (to get navigation and wireless carplay) and now i can't even do the light test in the trailering app. Yeah, my truck did not come with U1D. It looks like the current light controller uses relays, and the K68 hooks into those with a wiring harness. If only it was that easy. -
Integrated trailer brake controller not working

Sorry, I mistyped, I upgraded from IOS to IOU. Yes, I am trying to get the trailering app to work. When I plug in my trailer presence simulator, and my camper, the radio does not acknowledge a trailer is plugged in, but on the HUD i see trailer breaks connected. All the lights work, backup camera, break controller gain, but it says "No trailer connected" on the Infotainment screen. I think this may be due to my vehicle missing the K68 Trailer Light Controller, I think this module sends the signals to the radio. -

Integrated trailer brake controller not working

Hello, I currently cannot get my Infotainment system to recognize my trailer at all. When I plug in my trailer or the above tester (which I bought) into my truck, it shows "Trailer Breaks Connected" and everything tests perfectly. I have searched the internet and done every troubleshooting step, waiting the time to plug in, while the car is off, taking of the battery, connecting with the car on or off, just doesn't work. I recently upgraded my radio from RPO code IOS to IOU and I am assuming this is causing the issue. I also have the trailer TPMS sensor installed behind the license plate. Is there a different module i would need to fix this? I read somewhere that I would have to change the video processing module, but I can't seem to find where that is on my truck. I also read that I may need a BCM flash via the OBDII port, but again, can't find anywhere to obtain that. Any suggestions at all would be very helpful -
Trailering App won't initialize

Hello everyone, I know this may be a long shot and is very specific to my truck and RV, but I wanted to see if anyone else out there experienced the same thing I am and can provide any suggestions or insight. I currently have a 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT Trail Boss. It has a factory tow package with the factory break controller. Scanning the QR code on the driver’s side, it came with the IOS Infotainment system (no built in nav, just Maps+). After months of research, I updated to the IOU (advanced trailering app, navigation and wireless CarPlay) version of the Infotainment radio module from Infotainment.com The IOS version had a trailering “app” on the screen that would only allow a light check and would activate when my trailer was plugged into the 7-way connection with my headlights on. Additionally, the break controller would also indicate the trailer breaks were active. Since the install of the IOU unit, when I plug in my trailer, the lights work as intended, as well as the trailer break controller also indicates a trailer is connected, however, the trailering app in the Infotainment screen does not “register” a trailer connected. When troubleshooting, Infotainment suggested to disconnect the battery for 20 min, then connect, lock the door, turn on the car and reconnect, this did not work. Additionally, I read that plugging in the 7-way while the car was off fixed this issue for some folks, that also did not work. I also read information about Chevy changing the “power output” from the 7-way connectors in 2020 and newer models, and that caused a problem with some trailers. I purchased a Curt 57003 LED-Compatible RV Blade Vehicle-Side Trailer Wiring Adapter, which was recommended to “signal” the Infotainment system a trailer is connected, especially for computers that have LED lights (which mine does). This is also supposed to solve the problem of the 7-way harness in a custom “control box” as my trailer is a Keystone Cougar 30BHS with a Giggy box, where the 7-way harness is connected to. I apologize for the lengthy post, but I am baffled as to why this isn’t working. I pasted some links to different articles and information below. I also am going to look into the GM trailer simulator (listed below) and also see if any friends have a trailer I can plug into the 7-way or 4-way to “test” and see if its my camper or my truck causing the issue. Any insight or suggestions are much appreciated, and thank you in advance. Hello, I recently purchased a 2020 Silverado LT Trail Boss. In my previous truck, I had a Dashcam on the front and back window, with an SD Card. It was kind of an eye sore. In this truck, I was wondering if I could use the existing rear camera and have it record to a DVR. I also, wanted to purchase an OEM front facing camera for the truck, which i would also like to be able to see on the LCD console as well as tap into to hook to a DVR. Has anyone had experience installing this module for a front facing camera? https://www.ensightauto.com/products/integrated-front-parking-camera-viewing-system-for-2019-2021-chevy-silverado-ios-iot-iou-radio I was thinking of getting this DVR system, but it looks like it requires proprietary cameras which could get messy. https://www.rearviewsafety.com/safety-solutions/mobilemule-5500-5-channel-mobile-dvr-with-gps-rvs-5500.html Does anyone know if Chevy makes something like this? Has anyone heard of Chevy Surround Vision? I read that is only available on the Cadillac ST6. Do they make anything like this for a Chevy Silverado? https://gmauthority.com/blog/gm/general-motors-technology/gm-convenience-technology/gm-video-recording-technology/gm-surround-video-recording-system/ Thank you

I have the Z82 in my Codes but I was not able to figure it out. I installed the module I bought in the back of the truck and it did nothing, even when I hooked up to my Camper. My Truck ONLY has the trailering app. I am going on a trip soon with my camper, so I didn't want to take the chance of having the valve stems replaced with the GM ones I bought and have it still not work. My understanding is that it was something available from the factory and cannot be programmed, but I cannot find a definitive answer on that. I was hoping it could be an "upgrade" I could buy. I contacted my dealership and they were unsure as well. I'll provide any updates if I have them, as I am going to try again to reinstall it and maybe have a valve put on my spare tire as a test.

Is there anything I need to do to get this to work? Any type of computer flash in the OBD-II? we are leaving on a camping trip in two weeks so I was hoping to have this done soon anyway advice would be much appreciated
