2022 GMC AT4 gasser, 15,000 miles. Purchased June 2022.
this truck has been in the shop already several times. Driver side power mirror wobbling and a loud click when extending-replaced, rattling sound from the driver side under the dash/along the floor panel-isolated to a failed body mount and replaced after two attempts to find the issue, power boards not deploying-replaced, and of course the loud squealing brake issue-replaced. Now there’s a chirping sound I noticed immediately after picking it up when I hit bumps. Dealer said to let the brakes break in. That was 1,000 miles ago.
Other issues I currently have: “service trailer brake controller” has popped up on the dash 4-5 times starting almost immediately after I purchased. The trailer brake controller stopped working in the middle of towing. The truck pulled to the right at 5,000 miles, said it wasn’t covered under warranty, I paid for an alignment, still wasn’t right. They straightened the steering wheel, it’s still a little off. Transmission hard shifting and a whine from the steering column when idling but goes away when you accelerate.
I’ve taken the truck in a few times for the whine. Other than it being annoying it doesn’t affect operation. The dealer can’t find it/says it’s operating normal.
Transmission hard shifts between 1/2nd. GM sent an engineer out. The dealership is the worst to deal with. They replaced some parts and reprogrammed the ECU. Now it hard shifts differently. What’s happening now is after slowing to a stop you can feel and hear the transmission find 1st stopped. And slow speed the truck rough downshifts to 1st.
I don’t even want this truck anymore. I bought a brand new truck so I wouldn’t have to deal with car trouble. Now I’m dealing with car trouble taking my truck in several times and just inconvenienced. I had a case open with GM, they sent the engineer out. But I’m still not happy with this truck. I’m not sure what to do. Do I get a lawyer, bbb complaint, what’s the best next step?
