To close out on this (my) post about the tailgate touch pad, I just installed the replacement. About 10 minutes, easy, fits well and easily accessible via the detachable panel on the inside of the tailgate. I've attached a photo of the part from gmpartscenter.net. $5 for the part + $15 shipping. I wish all fixes were this easy! My 2021 2500 HD has a crack in the exterior tailgate touch pad that opens/closes the tailgate. (see the pic) I use this switch often. It's exposed to the weather, so I'd like to replace this insert plastic cover to keep out the rain. (FYI, the truck has about 40k miles and is mostly garaged. I'm surprised that this item would crack after about 5 years of service.) Does anyone have the part # and a source for me to obtain a replacement? Thx!

Hi, Thanks for all the great info in this forum. I'm planning to upgrade from my 2005 Sierra HD W/T. Looking at 2020 GM HD's with gas, crew cab, and long bed. My primary use will be towing a 26' box trailer with a race car and some around town trips. I have no plans for any off-road fun or work. One used truck I'm looking at has the factory Z71 suspension package. So.... 3 questions: How will the Z71 package affect ride quality? (I'm seeking good highway/town ride) Does the Z71 package raise the ride height vs. standard 2500 suspension? Will the Z71 package affect the highway towing behavior vs. standard 2500 suspension?
