  1. Hello, looking back 3 years your writeup on the camera updates, this was a great writeup and I have been upgrading my 2020 Silverado with the extra cameras. I added the front and the two trailering cameras, ordered the video module on eBay for about $150, all is working great so far. I am now doing the side mirror replacement. I got mirrors with cameras on eBay for about $200 each (not the wide tow mirror). I see that my door harness already has the video cable in it even though the original mirrors did not have cameras. You mentioned that you can't use that coax that is in place and I'm wondering if you can explain further? I'm guessing that if I trace that wire into the harness connector in the door jam, it might terminate there and on the inside truck. Or do you know if it actually routes all the way back to the Video module already? I was thinking it would be a little cleaner this way vs cutting open the wire loom and putting the new cable in. I just got my two cables in from Segemart today.
  2. Hi Greyhound... My 2020 Silverado 6.2L trail boss is making this exact whining noise as well. Can you please update me on how this ended up with the dealer / service? I dropped mine off this morning and they didn't even hear it on their own, so I had to go back and show them, then they heard it and said they will put it up on the rack and try to see where it is coming from. I want to get ahead of them coming back and saying something like "its normal" or "no issues".
  3. I FINALLY just got mine to work today after many many tries! I found these instructions on another forum and it works! I also discovered that the inside trailer connector is not wired in but there is a blank plug zip tied to the harness where the outside trailer camera is wired. 1. Turn Vehicle off 2 Close driver door 3. Wait 2 minutes 4. Then connect plugs (big one- 9 pin before camera) 5. Get in truck and make sure the door is shut PRIOR to the starting the truck Please Note: The very first time I did this I had to erase my RV profile and set up my RV profile up again- selecting that I had a 5th wheel) then I had to select the “camera app” for it to work. If you ever start up the car with your door still open it will not work. Strange that it’s so temperamental-but important to know.
  4. Also, I'd be interested in buying a couple of those plastic camera mounts you made... : )
  5. Hello, I just came across this post and wanted to thank you for the very helpful and innovative ideas you have here. I was hoping you could share with me how to build the connector to trick my truck in to thinking there is a trailer... my boat is at a storage yard and I'm still trying to get my cameras to work that I tried to build from this post last summer. Thanks!
  6. Hello, I just came across your write up. Awesome job, but I'm hoping you can help. I ordered the exact same cable setup (I think) and where the plug attaches to the truck, the inner insert fits perfectly but the outer metal sleeve (with the 4 slits) is larger than the male side of the truck plug. Is yours the same way? Does that need to touch for ground wire or complete the video signal? I plugged it in and hit the inner camera button on the screen and its showing no camera attached. I have a 2020 Silverado with advanced trailering package. So it should just work
