  1. You ever going to sell that type R? That’s a rare vehicle now and very low mileage.
  2. Keep the HD. I’ve read multiple places they care more about making their HD trucks more reliable since the HD trucks are sold a lot to business clients and they need reliability over all else vs half ton trucks meant for Joe blow.
  3. I wouldn’t buy any vehicle made outside the United States unless it was significantly lower priced vs the made in the United States equivalent. Because obviously they are saving a ton having the ram made in Mexico otherwise they wouldn’t do it. And because it’s not any less expensive, I’ll pass. That’s just me though.
  4. My 2500 runs me 296/6mo. Full coverage and well above state min requirements.
  5. My dad had the same phone(Motorola black bag phone) same time frame and it was also a buck a min.
  6. It’s unlikely they cost .50c it’s not a service manual. And it’s black and white even on the cover. Very low end.
  7. I wouldn’t do that deal but if my dealer wanted to trade straight up for another ZR vehicle, the ZR1x I would take that deal haha.
  8. So the base models get a manual and the luxury trucks don’t. That’s actually a tad funny. another win for poverty edition trucks.
  9. Yeah, 30mn to get to it but I suppose completing the whole job might take closer to two hours. I don’t know what the actual book time is in the job but good techs always beat book time.
  10. My poverty edition has received the baby treatment so far and based on current numbers , the brakes should last the life of the truck lol. Around 95% still at almost 3.5yrs.
  11. People now days only go 1-3yrs on trucks too so they can upgrade them together haha.
  12. If they did indeed send it out with no fluid, the long term longevity has been diminished and I would be demanding a new front diff. Incompetence is a real problem in this day and age. It’s not your problem they screwed up. Don’t let it become your problem down the road.
  13. Yeah my 16 tundra double cab sr5 4wd had like 1,370
  14. Keep HD get cheap step and fetch car. Thats what I do. I daily drive my 21 Corolla. Non hybrid and I still avg 35mpg. If it’s just freeway I get 40-42mgp and with my 3 peak snowflake tires I hook up fantastic in the snow it’s a non issue.
  15. They come from the dealerships. Both the one I purchased from and the one I live close to and get the warranty work done.
  16. Yeah I knew they were hoping to just do the cheap shim fix to get me out of warranty. I’m glad I already had the Shim thing done because if I hadn’t, they probably would’ve demanded I do the shim thing which would’ve pushed me outside warranty, but since I had already done that, I said we’re not doing the same thing twice. I get coupons regularly for basic maintenance but don’t use them. I’ll continue to do oil changes and filter replacements.
  17. I doubt the shims will be a permanent fix for anyone. They never actually gave me any real reason for the creaking only that they tested them and both sides were making noise with the right side being worse. At first they wanted to redo the shim thing again and I was getting close to the end of my three year 36,000 mile warranty and I said no way I want the springs replaced so they ended up doing the springs and they certainly are new springs because I can tell the difference they even left the little plastic packaging sticker on the springs. yeah my truck goes down the road straight. It can be a tad off center sometimes but that’s normal based on wind and/or road crowning.
  18. If it’s creaking a lot you need new leaf springs. Mine were creaking when getting in and out of the cab as well not to mention rolling slowly over uneven surfaces like reversing into my driveway at an angle. They tried the cheap shim repair but that’s a bandaid and worked for about a month. Once they replaced the rear leaf springs it’s completely quiet now.
  19. I just realized I haven’t measured this since I had my leaf springs replaced so I went out and did this all critical extremely important measurment again and it’s the exact same from left to right. 41 1/4” when you check the box for the poverty edition it includes a perfectly level, square and plumb suspension.
  20. Correct. My home is fairly new with perfect concrete no cracks etc and my floor is sloped towards the drain. Having a perfectly flat floor would not be ideal. Water would just sit there until it dries.
  21. I’m glad our house has a long enough garage to fit my CCSB. Also having a 18’ wide door helps parking it next to our suv. Not much room to spare though. I can barely open the tailgate with the truck parked in the garage. And the front is very close to the garage door. I can barely squeeze around it if I really need to but never need to.
  22. I read a tech say it only takes 30min to get to it. I don’t know how accurate that is though.
  23. 275/70/18 that’s what came stock on my truck. Same spare. if your spare is a different size, that can’t be good to actually use that. I’d be a bit worried to run diff sized tires.
  24. I grew up in that terrible state(much worse now it sounds like in recent years) and the roads were easily some of the very worst I’ve seen. The Saint Paul mpls area are so bad. This was well after 1971. Studs have nothing to do with it.
  25. That’s because more and more ppl want these huge 20+ inch wheels. In the late 90’s early 2000’s the only vehicles with 20” wheels were gangster suv’s ill stick with 18” wheels. More than big enough and lots of proper truck tires to choose from.
