  1. That looks nice. How much what that kit?
  2. Yeah so I slowly backed my truck into my wood garage shelves with the tailgate down. Just a tap but enough to put a dent in it. How annoying. I pounded it out best I could. I think it’s good enough. What do you guys think? I did accidentally slip and put a tiny outward one in though. Can only see it in vertical lighting. would you guys care about this? I’m thinking I’m just gonna call it done. Trucks 3yrs old now and not some fancy thing.
  3. Yeah it was just below the really annoying idler zerk that I was having issues greasing last month. And now after driving the truck all over town today I went under there are no sign of any red fluid, grease or anything. im thinking because of many attempts to get that zerk greased without actually seeing the top of where that zerk is, I had a good amount of grease sitting up on top of that idler and some made its way down to the ground a couple times. the idler and those lines above were all dry. The ones with that black mesh material over them. I will keep watching it for a bit.
  4. I will be letting it idle in the garage awhile this am and again when I come home as if it is trans fluid it wouldn’t or doesn’t drip with it’s not running. I hope it’s grease though. just seemed very viscous for trans fluid so we shall see. I’ve read a lot of other comments on forums saying trans cooler lines are common leak points though for GM. This is my first GM truck in over 25 years so I’m not sure.
  5. So I got under the truck this evening and if it is trans fluid it would have to be coming from the lines directly over the idler arm as there was a red drip hanging from idler arm. But here’s the thing? I not too long ago greased all the fittings with Lucas red and tacky and the drip on the ground seemed more viscous than tranny fluid. So I’m wondering if a good amount was sitting on top the idler and melted down some?? I read the drop point(melting) for red and tacky is like 540deg so that doesn’t seem likely. i throughly cleaned the idler and all around that area and will watch it.
  6. So I noticed a very small (3/8”) drop of transmission fluid under the truck today before I left. Upon closer inspection it looks like it has made 4 of these tiny drips different days and then kind of dried up or wore off but I can see the small stains. Anyway it is pretty far forward. I’d say 15-18” from front of truck and slightly off center but towards the pass side. I will have to crawl under the truck to see where it’s coming from. Any ideas? a trans line maybe? kind of a bummer.
  7. They also have small aluminum folding step stands at harbor freight for around 20 bucks. I’ve had two for over a decade use them all the time no issues.
  8. I think there is only one 18” factory. The ones I have on my truck. Steelies. most ppl want the big wheels so you shouldn’t have trouble finding a trade. Why do you want to get 18’s?
  9. I used the huskys. One fit good the other didn’t and I had them send me a new set and I ended up using one from each set they sent me. They gave me a discount and I was able to talk to a rep when I called that spoke English as a first language. I would buy from them again. They have been on since 2022 with no issues. I like them better than the factory ones too because they cover the whole frame rail and the factory ones don’t at all. Also they are hard black plastic and don’t hold any crud. They are easily sprayed clean.
  10. I’m sure some of you had the previous generation. What is your take on which truck is better? Are the T1 trucks living up to the reliability rep of the previous truck? Ive heard the newer ones are bigger and have more power. Mainly talking gas engines. But what about longevity and easy of maint. being that the last gen is not DI with no hpfp
  11. These trucks make sounds. They are big and rudimentary. If a guy wants pure silence, go electric. Might get close.
  12. You’re asking all the right questions. all these trucks with giant 20” wheels etc. also these trucks don’t really belong “off roading” sure, in a tv commercial but not really in real life. Way too heavy. I personally never dry steer because it’s always seemed to me to be something that is hard on the steering. Same with cranking the wheel lock to lock. I don’t think I’ve ever been to the stops either right or left.
  13. It’s been like 2.5yrs but I think I got that +60 option as I have them all keyed the same. I didn’t want to be fumbling around with different keys.
  14. If I recall, the rear bolt was magnetic. can’t help with specs. Newdude should be able to though.
  15. Here is a video I did on mine when I got it. On their site they listed a case as an add on so I got it and when it came I realized it is only compatible with the aluminum one. I hope they removed it as an option for the steel one after I called them. I modified the case to fit the hitch. It’s very heavy in that case though.
  16. The weigh safe is solid but not a solid chunk of steel. It’s a tank about 40lbs.
  17. Yes, that’s the one. It’s a heavy beast but you can tell it will last forever. And unlike the aluminum one, there is no chance it will slightly deform over time. I don’t worry about rust because I don’t keep it in the receiver when not in use. Plus it has a very nice paint job so it would take time to get any rust anyway.
  18. People go down rabbit holes online and become stuck in an echo chamber and if a guy doesn’t know enough about the subject he’s “researching” it can end badly. for reference, have a guy research something online that he’s an expert in due to a lifetime of knowledge gained from schooling, work etc and he will quickly weed though the BS. But if you have him research something he has no knowledge about, it is usually going to cause confusion.
  19. I also have a weigh safe but mine is the 2.5” steel 8” drop. It’s 10k on a 2” ball with the 2.5” shaft and 22k for the 2 5/16 ball.
  20. Step 1. Get off the internet step 2. Drive your truck I hate to say this but it’s alarming the amount of 60+ year olds nowadays who are obsessed with the internet and think some random google searching is the answer. My own father who is 72 is obsessed with checking Google for everything now. 10 years ago the guy didn’t even want to text. Now he thinks Google is the answer to everything. It's a real problem nowadays. You have a truck that has not given you any trouble but now because you have been scrolling the internet you have doubts now? See step one above.
  21. It’s all just marketing hype.
  22. If the news comes from YouTubers I won’t bother even watching. They get paid based on sensationalism and catchy titles.
  23. Get a 2.5” hitch. Sell current one. or wrap it with some electric tape and jam it in there. I did that in the past and it worked for a long time.
