  1. Got a new 85573256 camera in today directly from GM, and it worked immediately. My conclusions: 85813746 may be the newer model camera, and is specifically stated as being the replacement camera for 85573256, but it would seem that if you don't already have camera 85813746 in the tailgate then it doesn't work. The first 85573256 camera I ordered I got off eBay, it was the right part but seems like it was defective. It would seem that by far, the easiest way to figure out what camera you need to order is to simply pop out the camera in your tailgate (took me <5 minutes) and order that exact same camera
  2. I went straight to a GooseBox on our Reflection. Zero chucking. All the space in the bed is nice too.
  3. That does help, a lot. I confirmed the camera in my tailgate is 85573256, so at this point I either have to have a defective 85573256 camera, or two defective cables. Guess I'm ordering yet another camera.
  4. ------------------------------------------------------------ EDIT: The first correct camera I bought off eBay was defective, a brand new one directly from GM worked. Get the same camera you have in your tailgate! ------------------------------------------------------------ Well, I attempted to try this again on my new truck, with just as much failure and no resolution still. This time a 2024 3500 AT4. First I ordered camera part # 85813746 which is the newest camera part number, and I already had a cable from the last time I tried this. Once I got the camera in I tried simply plugging it in to see if it would show up, but all I got was a black screen. Side note, during all these tests, I was also plugging in my trailer. Anyhow, I tried everything under the sun including the door trick, deleting the trailer profile, squeezing the end of the cable to make a better ground connection, plugging in the camera then the trailer, plugging in the trailer then the camera, no combination of doing anything gave me anything but a black screen on that camera view. So, I ordered the previous camera part # 85573256 off eBay, but same results. OK, maybe the cable is bad, I ordered a new cable, but again, same results.
  5. Were the sensors in your trailer from a previous year? or the ones that came with your 2024?
  6. Having trouble finding an accurate answer to this question. There are a lot of topics about the TRUCKS TPMS sensors being different, but I can't find anything confirming the trailer sensors. The ones I got with my 2020 half ton worked in the trailering app on the 2020 and also on a 2023 half ton. I have a set of leftover sensors from a 2021 truck but would like to know if they will work with a 2024 HD before I pay to have them installed on a new trailer.
  7. sold RoadActive suspension Kit# 4611-HD. Fits most half ton GM trucks from 1990 and up. Only installed for a few months, got an HD truck. $400
  8. Ah sorry, didn't know you were jaqing off. Please continue, lol.
  9. I have clients that supply parts to the big three, and they absolutely had and still do have issues getting materials for certain things, this isn't some massive conspiracy.
  10. At the very least I can confirm my disappointing experience with my local GM delaer (not GM specifically). I placed an order over 2 months ago, and I would ask my dealer if they had any allotments coming, and they wouldn't even respond to me. I ended up finding an exact order of my truck someone else placed but backed out of across the state, and drove over same day to get it when that dealership called me back.
  11. This is hilariously ironic considering the slew of posts I've seen of people buying GM trucks because their Ford orders have been sitting for 6-9+ months. It's similar to all the people who post things like "I've had so many problems with this truck, I'm never buying X brand again, only Y from here on out!" then you go over to Y forums and it's the exact same posts just opposite.
  12. Can confirm. Michigan resident here, 9 out of 10 trucks coming into dealers right now are customer orders, and what's left is basically Pro's and Denali/Ultimates, with almost nothing in between. Put in an order for an AT4 almost a month ago and it still hasn't been accepted.
  13. It's only for the 2023's
  14. 14k GVWR, so fully loaded. We already have a 32' travel trailer that we've had for years, and we are upgrading due to wanting to take longer than just weekend trips, longer distance trips, and because our kids are getting bigger and outgrowing our current setup. Our plan is to have this fifth wheel for the next 5-8 years, or until the kids stop wanting to come with us, then downsize to a bit smaller fifth wheel that we will potentially keep much longer, all the while keeping the same truck. Right now I'm pulling around 7400lbs with my half ton, that has a capable tow capacity of 9600lbs. It's ok, it's not necessarily "white knuckle" but it can definately be mentally draining on longer trips since I have to do all the driving. And with my current setup being at about 77% maximum towing capacity, and the new setup if I went with gas i'd be at about 79% of my max towing capacity, I just kind of assumed that I would end up in a similar situation. All that being said, and as an update to the thread, I placed an order this week for a 24 3500 AT4 Duramax.
  15. I'd be lying if I said I haven't thought about how nice this would be. Currently, towing our 31' TT whenever we take a trip longer than about 160 miles I have to google map possible gas station stops to make sure I can fit in.
  16. We are looking to get into a fifth wheel from our current travel trailer, and thus upgrading from a 1/2ton to an HD. I plan on keeping this truck for the next 10 years or so, and am really struggling on going with gas or diesel. The fifth wheel we are looking to get is 14000lbs GVWR and just over 37 feet, and a 2400lb loaded pin weight. We plan on taking it cross country annually with another 8-10 trips in the 60-400 mile range (round trip) locally every year. Now for the fun part. I work from home, so besides pulling the camper, the rest of my duties consist of going to the grocery store, home depot, and running the kids to soccer. I only put about 8-10k miles a year on my current truck (only about 20% of that is while towing the trailer) but that will go up a bit with some of the longer trips we are starting to plan. On the flip side, I do live in a somewhat rural area, so me hopping on the highway for a 30+ minute drive one way is at least a weekly occasion. I've read every thread and watched every video I can find, but I swear almost all of them are people towing 7k-11k lbs, so it's been difficult finding feedback from people pulling a larger fifth wheel with the gasser (besides JB Reviews, which quite honestly I don't feel like a 20 mile review on a brand new truck really gives me the type of feedback I'm looking for) I feel like I'm torn between possibly having issues with emissions, or towing at almost max capacity with the gasser. Any feedback from owners would be appreciated. Thanks! edit: To clarify, I'm looking at a 2024 3500 SLT
  17. I'm betting you are correct. Now I just need to find one that works
  18. Well, in a very frustrating turn of events, I haven't been able to get this setup working at all. I have the cable and the camera, and I went to test it before doing the install, and no matter what I did I couldnt get the camera to be recognized. Of course the trailer was plugged in, but I tried all sorts of things like shutting the truck off, waiting 10 minutes, plugging in the trailer, then the camera, then getting in teh truck and shutting the door, and turning the truck on, still nothing. I thought maybe I had a bad camera, so I ordered another one, same thing. I've checked the connections under the truck, the cables are definately plugged into the connectors in the bumper, and i even unplugged and replugged them back in. The message I get on the screen just says "Connect the rear trailer camera to get a preview" if I try to select it while in the trailering app, and it's completely grayed out as being a selectable option in the camera views. At this point I'm wondering if maybe the cable is bad? Although unlikely I guess it's not out of the question. If I order another cable though and it doesnt fix the issue, I'm just giving up and not using the system at all. I'm not putting any more money into it and im not buying the official system. edit: 2023 GMC Sierra SLE
  19. Just posting to say thank you to everyone in this thread. Was able to get the parts needed for 1/6th the price of the GM OEM camera package. And thanks for the STL files!
  20. My lease end is coming up on my '20 CC 5.3 Elevation. I pull a 28' 7200lb (loaded) camper 8-10 times a year. I have no real complaints about my current setup with the 5.3, but I was looking to get into a 3.0 on my new lease for the larger GVWR (7300lbs) and longer range. The new updates to the 2.7 have at the very least intrigued me simply because of how cheap the leases on them are. Does anyone here tow 7k lbs with the updated 2.7? Any thoughts?
