  1. I recently had a used, from another truck of mine, 4l65e put into my 04 Silverado 1500. It had a 4l60e. It ran great for about a month or so. But about a week before my last drive I temporarily lost reverse but after I added a 1/4 quart of ATF it was back to normal. No issues with shifting or noises. Then again a week later, I lost reverse and added a 1/4 quart and it again was good to go. That same day I drove the truck to several stops over the next 5 hours with no issues. Driving home on the highway at 60mph I was suddenly not able to accelerate. I coasted to the side of the road and got a tow home. I've since noticed after a couple tests that the transmission fluid isn't pumping to the radiator. I've read the symptoms of a failed pump and I didn't experience those. Issues or things I know it needs otherwise are... the transmission dipstick grommet was leaking slightly, at random. And the top transmission line at the radiator looked wet but not dripping . I was checking fluid daily. I knew I needed to clean or replace the fuel injectors and fix a small exhaust leak. Engine has only 160000 miles on it but it was very black, even after oil change. If it is the pump that failed, I've heard you can try to jump the pump and try to get it to start working again. Is this true? How do you do that? My next step was going to be putting in another new transmission filter and fluid to see if its just blocked by debris. Otherwise what could cause sudden loss of all acceleration? Transmission related or not? Thank you for reading and any ideas, suggestions, insight, personal experiences are greatly appreciated. Stephanie
