Yeah, probably depends on personal situation. For us, a 5er is a “possibility”but not really something we are planning on. The plan is to keep the bumper pull and add bed rack for hauling kayaks etc. Wasn’t worth waiting on that since a 5er is a big maybe for us. But if it’s definitely in your plan, makes more sense to wait. FWIW my dads been hauling his massive Montana 5er with his truck with aftermarket gooseneck setup with zero problems for years. Makes it easier for me to skip it now in favor of getting the truck sooner. Crazy high value on my trade-in was a motivating factor on wanting the truck sooner too

I believe it’s the gooseneck/fifth wheel prep that’s on constraint at the moment. The spray in bed liner is not, at least as of earlier this week. Like you said, that’s something a hitch shop can do for you later, if it means getting the truck.

Same around here. Quite a few dealers in my area and they all have 1-2 2500 and 3500 on lots. Not many, but they are out there and in all trim levels. And a lot incoming unspoken for waiting on delivery from Canada…

Ordered 7/14 Just got my TPW of 8/28 figured as much when we ended up ordering instead of getting an incoming unit, but will likely miss the rest of our camping season by the time it’s in, at least based on the delivery times? On the plus side maybe Costco will do it’s annual $1K rebate starting Oct 1 and the deal will get even sweeter

Well, ping pong ball to tennis ball sized hail in the Flint area today. All I could think about was all those lots of HDs awaiting shipment. Haven’t heard if any hit near the assembly but my first thought to seeing the weather was that I guess I’m glad mine isn’t built yet. Hopefully those lots didn’t get hit.

Just placed an order Friday for an 2500 LTZ with a dealer we’ve known for ages that had “an allocation for an LTZ with a TPW the second week of August.” Had the list of constraints and nothing impacted us. If they had the allocation for next month, and no constraints impacted it, does that generally mean it goes thru for next month? First experience ordering…

Same in our area…it’s enabling us to trade our 2021 in for a good chunk more than what we paid new !! and trade up to a 2024 Silverado HD. Crazy low inventory.
