  1. We’ve only got flooded lead battery on our travel trailer. The only camping trip we had left last fall after getting the truck the brakes disconnected and reconnected a couple dozen times. I got the controller replaced before camping season this spring and it did correct the issue. So just a heads up that it’s not just a solar or lithium issue.
  2. I have the same chirp in the same scenario you described. Did you ever take yours in for it?
  3. Does anyone know for sure if the trailer brake controller issue causes an error code to be stored? My service department (which is a bit of a drive away for me) is trying to tell me I have to bring the truck in so they can see for sure it has an error code before ordering the part. But as I understand it there isn’t an error code stored, and the trailer simulator won’t replicate the problem anyways…so it feels like a super wasteful trip to the dealer for me. I’d like to be able to know for sure when I call back so I can tell them not to waste me an hour drive each way and tell them to just order the part and call me when it’s in…
  4. Yes, we snuck into that short window nicely - made a nice few bucks off our 21 Tahoe (more than we paid brand new 3 years ago) on trade-in and also get employee pricing (came to about 10% off MSRP) with no dealer bs, so basically got to swap the two with no money lost despite the truck MSRP being quite a bit higher. But I suspect if we had waited even a few weeks that profit on the Tahoe would’ve disappeared. Dealer had to drop the price on it several times and it sat 2.5 months on their used lot. Now the used ‘21 Tahoes at the dealer close to me are listed about $8000 less than what similar trims/mileage were just since end of August when we made our trade.
  5. Sorry you’re having so many problems. No one wants to deal with that. But it’s good to remember that many of the people who join forums or groups initially do it because they have a concern or problem with their vehicle they are researching. So your results are naturally going to be heavily skewed higher. And then on top of that, most people won’t take the time to respond to a survey unless they feel like it applies to them personally so again, your results will be heavily lopsided and lacking responses from the majority of people who haven’t had issues. A sample size of 210 also is pretty small since they crank out far mor than that every single day at each factory. That’s far less than even 1% of owners. None of that is to question the reality of the problems you’ve had or that others have had. But to say it’s a widespread problem is a stretch. Hope you get yours fixed or replaced or another solution that is satisfactory to your situation though.
  6. They aren’t shipped purely in order of completion though, they transport in batches based on logistics efficiency. So some people wait a lot longer. Truck I initially ordered sat in the shipping queue in Canada for several weeks. Truck we ended up buying from dealer inventory came the 2 hrs by transporter within 5 days of build completion.
  7. Have the twin truck and have been concerned about chipping (none so far but only have 900 miles on it). What are you putting on yours? And are you just protecting the bumper?
  8. Doh. Just realized you didn’t say yours was a Z71 sport. In any case, the sport package includes it…
  9. I have one. But it is suuuuper hard to see in pictures because it’s so small.
  10. Most in my area do. Then there’s the one in my area that does…but also tries to make up the difference by offering several thousand less on trade in value. But I also live in Big 3 country. Ive read about dealers not taking gms especially in the past couple years but I don’t think dealers in this area could do that without losing a lot of customer base.
  11. Is yours with the Z71 Sport package? Because my 24 2500 LTZ with the z71 sport package does. Flint built.
  12. My 2500 LTZ has it
  13. I get GM employee pricing so price is set. Was about 11% off my particular truck. Most dealers around me advertise some discounts off MSRP of varying amounts, but nothing close to employee pricing.
  14. The expectation (conjecture) is it’s expanding on Friday again, and to plants that produce more profitable vehicles like the suvs and trucks…makes me glad I’m not still waiting for my order…
  15. Without a camper getting around 12.5 on my crappy short city drives. Considering most of those have been no further than 2-5 miles with about 4-8 stoplights along the way, it’s not as bad as I thought it’d be… Highway drives have been limited so far but been around 16-19 on those.
  16. I don’t know about that…I still run across random empty shelves in a grocery store with a note apologizing that supply is temporarily unavailable. Neighbors doing a renovation have had numerous delays getting certain items for their project (the right siding for example) and had to change their choices in appliances multiple times because the ones they originally picked are backordered so badly they were told 12-18month wait. Certain RVs were being delayed because the particular type of fiberglass used on the nose caps were experiencing a global lack of supply as recently as this spring. Publishing (husbands industry) has been hit too, paper supply is down worldwide…the backlog of books waiting to go to print gets longer books don’t manage to get printed in time for their release dates. I see supply chain issues all over the place outside of vehicles. My in law working at GM have said the parts suppliers can’t get enough parts to the factory to keep up - flint for example had a couple days to shut down because they ran out of transmissions. Oshawa had an axle shortage. Delta had a shut down one week for some other component. My ordered truck is sitting in a lot in Oshawa waiting for the damn black bow tie they are short of (helps to have an insider, and thankfully we ended up buying one that came in as dealer stock instead). In a product (vehicles) that has some 14,000 different components, I guess to me it’s not that far fetched that delays in suppliers getting parts to assembly happen frequently. Now, lower inventory due to supply issues is one issue…choosing to take advantage of that and using it to jack up pricing is another. I don’t think the supply chain issues are by design, but I do think the manufacturers and dealers are using it to raise pricing just because they can (and not because of increased costs).
  17. Payload on the ZR2s are slightly lower from what I saw, but still way higher than a 1500. The one near me had lower towing too but also not by much . also, your dealer should have the window sticker digitally and be able to send it to you

  19. If they have it arriving soon, you should be able to look at the window sticker online and see if it has all the options you want. There aren’t many out “in the wild” yet since they just started building the first ones in late August/early sept I believe. It’ll sell fast. They are really sharp. I love the look of them but there are some differences due to it being an “off road” trim. In case those impact how you plan to use it.
  20. Those plants aren’t actually striking (as of today) but the plants targeted with the latest expansion of the strike will intentionally impact parts supply…so eventually may be an indirect impact. I have an (in-law) family member waiting to get called because he wants some time off so we get updated pretty quickly
  21. If I’m understanding the issue that causes the problem correctly, can it be solved simply by letting the battery run down some before it’s time to hitch up and go? The fridge will put some drain on the battery as well on its own, and if it’s unplugged from shore power for, say, and hour or two, before travel…it shouldn’t be getting enough charge from the truck to be fully charged while on the drive? I thought I was understanding that the issue only occurred when the battery became fully charged and would back feed to the truck, but I’ll be the first to admit my battery/electrical knowledge is not my area of expertise. Oddly, the disconnect seemed to work today, but it was only about a 20 minute drive so that could’ve been a fluke. edit: I also do NOT have solar, so the only charge the battery would get while driving is from the truck.
  22. Don’t have the propane option, but you make a good point - it’s a short trip, about 2hrs. So I think if I have everything good and cold I’ll be fine with the battery disconnect off. I can always throw a few reusable ice packs in if I’m really worried about it. I’m so used to the fridge running on the drive I missed the obvious that it’ll stay cold that long. It’s our last trip this year, so I’ll have the dealer take care of the fix (hopefully) we’ll before I have to tow again.
  23. Ok, just hitched up and towed for the first time…and even without solar I had the disconnects. Since I was just taking it in for a maintenance issue, I just turned the battery off and it solved the problem. But…Thursday we leave for a trip and since I have a 12v fridge I don’t really want to turn the battery off. Can’t get the fix done before then…what’s my best course of action? Any recommendations?
  24. This would’ve been what I ordered if I had patience but the color still wasn’t available. Looks so good. But I didn’t even wait for my order (LTZ in dark ash) and took home a stock truck instead (red hot z71 sport) so there was no chance of me waiting
  25. Well a plus in his favor seems to be that he’s been very up front with you about having/not having allocation. There are many dealers that will dodge revealing that info. It’d be interesting to hear if someone knows they really are that limited on ordering gas right now…
