truck finally arrived from other dealer. Shows well of course and is full warranty. No carfax or anything for the dumb transit damage. Apparently transit damage happens fairly often Boys, I think i want this one - final hurdle is me thinking my trade is worth more. I am making sure my heart is not making me feel this way but comparable ads make me think my 2010 Camaro 2ss/rs full load in Inferno Orange with 6spd is worth more than 18k trade in. 18k CAD trade in is about 14,300USD. Now, I do save some on tax also, its like i brought them 20,700 CAD cash. What is your thoughts?

Update today I am going to look at one I have been waiting on...it was delayed as it had transit damage on front bumper they had to fix before or for PDI. 21 Sierra Elevation X31 - 5.3 and the 10spd. This is likely going to be the one folks. I am trying to make a list of stuff I should check out but then i laugh at myself and say "it isnt used"...but i will still go underneath for a look, exterior etc...what can you add folks?

love your thinking Transient. However, looks like I am going to end up with a 2021 Elevation x31 in Satin Steel Metallic. 5.3 10spd. I was sooo close to the TB but honestly to me it just isn't the right truck. I think fairly early I will dislike that aggressive of a tire and lift. Never mind that after all this hoopla Chevy didn`t level the damn thing. Still has a rake even as a lifted truck.

funny story. You all know i am hardcore looking for the right truck for me. Recently had an experience with a Trail Boss LT where dealer said they wont honor the corporate discount afforded on other trucks. Other dealers will do this so they are missing out, in fact dealers within 50kms are doing the deal. But, with this market they know they can sell the truck without my discount so i understand but it shouldnt be up to them. This is a national program.

ok fair enough. I am not against GM in fact I am fan. It comes down to this - for the same money: 2021 GMC Sierra Elevation with x31 or 2021 Chevrolet Silverado Trail Boss with z71 ..this is what I have to decide on.

yeah thats sort of my point. Maybe interiors can be more refined (in fact i think gms have more soft touch) but from a 5.3 and 10spd they are identical in every way huh. I am going to try to move forward today on the TB.

ok i see as far as TB to AT4. When people say the GMCs are more refined - how could that be - they are basically same drivetrain huh

Also, others have said the Trail Boss provides a ton more vaule compared to x31 Elevation. Can you expand on that or rather tell me what the added value is? Do you simply mean the lift?

I dont know how to explain it. Funny though initially the trucks was in auto - does it limit speed? I did take it out of auto and in 2wd it seemed funny sometimes. I guess one thing to remember is that because its brand new I could always take it in to shop if something was wrong but just concerned me as I didnt recall it in the GM one i drove (but recall it was street type tires etc..)

Thanks I drove a LT TB tonight. 5.3 10spd. IT really worked well but i felt something - almost reminded me of shudder. This could simply be the tires perhaps. It seemed to happen when i was into the gas pretty good. Any thoughts?

yeah and I worry about that as pathetic as it might be lol. Can I ask the forum to explain to me the difference between 1lt and 2lt - i think i owe it to myself to at least consider the Silverado 2lt trailboss I spoke of. I test drove a Silverado and a Sierra on the weekend. Both 5.3, Chevy with 8spd, GM with 10spd - GM felt alot better on the road - do you think some of that is the 8spd vs the 10spd? (as info both trucks were z71 equipped)

latest update folks. Crushed that the above red one sold. White one is still in play but man I fell hard for that red one. Another dealer reached out today and told me a red one as above is coming but it is 3.0 TD. I am such a v8 guy but maybe.... Thoughts?

oh oh, another dealer just emailed me with a 21 2lt Trail Boss. Pricing is near the same. It is 5.3 with 10spd also. Eeek... to speak to this point. Would you say a x31 Elevation and a Trail Boss should be close in price?

i didnt even notice that so i guess its not important to me lol. Now i need to decide on color. White as shown or i can get satin steel, cardinal red or pacific blue. The red is nice actually. Any thoughts?

hahah, was just gonna say its our garbage dollar. Drove them both today. Both drove pretty great. I think the Sierra was just more smooth if that makes sense. Found another one more local and in black - only extended cab but might fit the bill also. I am sure it is still fairly room huh? Thanks all for the comments so far.

RST did have buckets and the console. Neither had the window sticker but i do have some info on the option sheets. Chevy on left, Sierra on right. Both have heated fronts. Wicked floor liner system in the GM, liners in Chevy are pretty awesome too.

so went and seen them both. Some observations GM interior seemed like it had more soft touch stuff, also the instrument cluster looked a bit nicer and different (i should have taken pics) - can anyone confirm they are a bit different? GM was bench seat, Chev had console - console is nice forsure I really dont know what my issue is with the GM looks wise - believe it or not I dont think i love the wheels. Pricing is really similiar. I will drive them both tomorrow. Wifey likes the GM better I like the Chev (from looks standpoint only) Maybe its the round wheel wells I did and the wheels themselves are nice. I think i know in my heart the GM will have better resale/trade value and the 10spd does get good reviews. But am i splitting hairs here a bit - i bet compared to the 6spd in the customs the 8 speed is good. Ugg, how to make decision

I hope to go see them in person this afternoon. Tell me Jim - why do you like the GM better and also - can you speak to your 8spd RST - has it been good for you? Still lots of get up and go?
