  1. I think you tried to quote my message but left off the reply.
  2. Today I saw a 23 or 23 model (had the refreshed grill & LED headlights) that did not have 2500HD on the door. Instead it had a moulding w/ 2500HD embossed in it. Is this something I haven't noticed before or and aftermarket piece that the dealer or owner added? It looks like from the search that this is new on the 2024s (multiple pics on Google).
  3. Looks good! I just reworked my canoe rack that I fabbed back in the 80s (for a S15) so I could use it in my 2024 2500HD. (retired tool & die maker).
  4. The Isuzu forward control models are fairly common in Canada, as is the Hino brand with both forward and conventional cabs.
  5. A thought came to mind after reading the other 'active' tire thread. What specs or parameters differentiate a M+S tire and 1 marked w/ this icon?
  6. I really can't see how they can call the Firestone Transforce ATs an all terrain tire either. Sketchy in some snow conditions here in Ontario. They have M+S on the sidewall, but no winter/snow icon
  7. I was just joking on the acronym. Any reason why an option like that would be unavailable w/ the Z71 option?
  8. Very true. Even before then a lot of people I know prefered McD's coffee...
  9. Looking up to see if there was any news coverage of the above story, I found this: Google has lots of pics of vehicles crashed into Timmies across Canada.
  10. Not sure, but seeing it's the GTA, anything is possible.
  11. Speaking of Tim Horton's... (just another day in the Greater Toronto Area)
  12. I saw another K2XX True North truck today. Badges were placed properly (in line with the leading edge of the Silverado). Im wondering if the other truck was even had the True North package, but a poor attempt @ by the owner to dress it up?
  13. How old is Ford's current logo? GM's logo is like shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic. How much money & time was wasted on this? Reminds me of the period of time when GM added a small GM badge beside the divisonal name on the vehicle doors. The thinking was so people would connect 'Chevrolet/Pontiac/Buick w/ GM... Then you have the GMT800s that had miniscule Chevrolet or GMC Truck badging on the tailgate. It was like they were ashamed to have the brand noticeable on the back of the truck. Ford has F150 & Super Duty stamped into the tailgate and/or larger than really necessary letters. When are the GM 'stylists' going to copy that? Then at some point the braintrust copies Toyota & has to have CHEVROLET across the grille something not seen since the early 70s. Was the thinking behind the oversized Chevrolet to attract buyers who didn't know what the bowtie logo was?
  14. I think that was the 'old' GMC brand before it became 'Professional Grade'. My father's 2 pickups, '75 & '79s were GMCs as was my '82. The only difference back then was the grille as they looked better than the Chevy 'egg crate'. Since '95 my pick ups have all been Chevs. MD sightings are few & far between in southern Ontario. I see the International versions on the roads here & the Navistar dealer in Peterborough Ont', usually has 1 or 2 on their lot. I spent a few days in New England earlier this month & saw 3. I'm sure Mary Barracuda & the rest of the braintrust running GM (or is it gm?) wouldn't know where the Jimmy term came from. *Oh it was a GMC SUV...*
  15. Yes, the update had been completed before the sale. Service writer said that they had seen that in the past. Customer gets an email notification after the recall or campaign work had been done.
  16. Nor Chevs? I knew that, just commenting how the 'composite' box was built over a steel skeleton.
  17. I'm going with the 1 that GM offers thru parts. I was not impressed w/ BAKflip's customer service. The 'channels' that covered the cables warped over time and wouldn't stay in place. One of the latches broke. When I contacted the accessory shop & they looked up service parts available, the parts weren't available.
  18. I didn't know this existed. I know the last step side boxes were a hybrid design and there was a plastic box for the GMT800s (the different taillights were the giveaway). Has the box usage been expanded? Or is it restricted to the higher end models that don't see a lot of abuse?
  19. I posted this in another thread by mistake: Saw 1 today. Now this 1 I dont recall. Im guessing it was just for vehicles GM of Canada supplied to the organizers:
  20. I picked up a pair @ the dealer. The PN is 061914e from Morgan Design Group http://www.mdgglobal.com I don't want to say this truck (a K2XX) was built on a Fri' night shift or Mon' day shift but whoever installed them wasnt very careful. The passenger side was a bit botched as the emblem wasn't centered above the SILVERADO lettering. The included instructions show the True North emblem being placed 'even' with the forward edge of the SILVERADO, regardless of the side. Going by the previous posts, I'm guessing the emblem was dealer installed on the actual True North pickups? One our tooling jobs in the Truck & Car Plants over the years was making locating 'fixtures' for the various badges & emblems. They were quite simple to make as they were usually made from 1/4" nylon. The moulding fixture for the GMT400 trucks and newer, was a different story, the length of the truck. Speaking of the Toronto Maple Leaf F150, I saw another 1 today.
  21. My brother had a roll up on 1 of his trucks in the past. I dont think he was overly happy w/ it. For his last 2 trucks, he's gotten a trifold.
  22. My father had a 75 GMC regular cab & a 79 GMC crew cab, both 3/4 tons. So I'm pretty aware of how seatibg has come along. The former was 1 of the 2 vehicles I learned to drive in, the other being a '77 Pontiac Laurentian (Canadian B body 1 step down from the Parisienne). The only time I run the max' tire pressure is when I'm towing my travel trailer.
  23. Today I got the email about the software update. I was planning on stopping @ the dealer on an unrelated matter, so will ask about this in relation to the 'completed' issue on the OnStar report.
  24. Wanted to post a couple of pics of my 2004 out in the bush back in '07. No throwback thread, so here goes. Any pics good or bad or previous trucks @ work or play... Picking up some firewood at our family's woodlot in central Ontario. EDIT: If you zoom in on the 2nd pic, you'll see the tailgate hinges I fabbed after 1 of the OEM cables broke in either this truck or my 2000. I know I did get a pair of replacement cables for 1 of the trucks. We had a logger salvaging the downed timber the summer after this: That fall after it went thru, we had 130 trees to clear just on our access road thru the property before the deer hunt in Nov'. Unfortunately none were usable as firewood. I don't recall how many loads of logs were taken out.
