  1. Mary has to get her year end bonus... I haven't heard anything about Oshawa. I will touch base w/ brother.
  2. I actually saw 1 of the old Tahoe hybrids the other day...
  3. That would definitely make a difference
  4. I went from a 2017 regular cab LT to a 2024 crew cab w/ the LT trim. Not sure if it's more adjustment on the seat back or the seat construction, but the latter feels more comfortable. I picked it up for a dealer trade & that drive was over 6 hours & 400 miles long. I was quite happy w/ how the seat felt. A few weeks later I drove from Ontario to New Hampshire. Around 10 hours & almost 500 miles. I'm 63 & 6' 2" tall. It has been a few trucks (this is #8) since I felt comfortable w/ the mid level trim seats.
  5. Same as on my 2024 Silverado 2500HD w/ the LT trim. Set it & forget it. Has anyone had oncoming traffic flash you thinking you had your high beams on? I've had it happen twice since getting my truck this past September. The 1st time was when I was following an early 90s Dodge pick up. The oncoming driver probably thought my low beams were hi beams after meeting the Dodge & its sealed beams... The 2nd time was approaching the village I live in on the highway. It was someone in a small sedan. Are the low beams that bright?
  6. Where my 2024 started out from: Purchased via dealer trade in Campbellford. My first truck, an '82 GMC K15 in the fall of '81:
  7. I'm surprised @ the need for 1. I'm 63 & 6' 2" & just use the stake pockets as a hand hold & the bumper recesses as a step. When I saw the K2XX the rear stake pockets w/ an angled side in addition to the redesigned bumper, I thought, "Someone who has actually used a truck was thinking".
  8. My 2 cents on levelling kits/reindexed keys... On my 2004 2500HD I had installed them, only to realize when I bought & towed a travel trailer (5000#) that it made the rear squat. Even though the tongue weight was 500#, I got a WD hitch to level that truck & my 2011 truck. When I got my 2017, It appeared that the WD hitch wasn't req'd. The truck didn't squat w/ the load (I still use a sway control).
  9. Reminds me of my friend who was involved in picking up a 3500 HD Denali Ultimate here in Ontario. He drove the 'spare' vehicle & didn't even take any time behind the wheel of it. I'm thinking the size may have intimidated him. He's considerably shorter than me & drives a 1500. Anyways he tells me it was $135,000 CDN. "So it was a dually?" 'Nope just 4 wheels'. I couldn't imagine buying a 1 ton that was a SRW. X2 on using that as a plow truck. Now if you had a long driveway & it was in the snow belt, maybe. But I can't see it being too practical as a work truck.
  10. I asked about the CAN FD adapter's compatibility w/ the Elite G scan tool. Apparently it is fine. So I'll order that & go from there. There mention of CAN FD going thru the screens but I'm not sure in what context (I think it was a yes/no question).
  11. What is that blue called? Is it a '25 colour as I havent seen any around here, just 'roast pan blue'.
  12. Trying to research a compatibility issue w/ my Creader Elite, I saw a video that mentioned a 'battery reset' when installing a new battery. Does this apply guys? Mr Shadetree Mechanic (me) changed the battery in my mother's 2006 Montana a few years ago. Afterwards the temperature display read 0* C regardless of ambient temp & we never got it to work since. Afterwards talking to a friend who was a mechanic until retiring & selling his shop last year. He was saying (while trying to correct it) that swapping out batteries isn't as simple as it used to be. I dont recall if he replaced the air temp sensor or not.
  13. I posed a question about not being able to set the tire pressure warning on Amazon. I got a reply to send an email. I did explaining what I wanted to do. This is the reply I got: Checking Amazon, Launch does offer a CANFD adapter, but apparently not for the Launch scan tool. I will email to see what is up. As it stands, I've got something that I wouldn't have ordered had I known its limitations.
  14. What is w/ GM thinking this is a must have feature? Honda tried it years ago and dropped it. I was in Oshawa Truck when the QS4 (Quadrasteer) option was available on the GMT800s. I can probably count on 1 hand how many I've seen in the ensuing years. For those that don't know, they had a distinctive 'semi stepside' box side. Yes the $3000 price tag likely scared off most, but even then no other OEMs thought it worth their while to offer something similar.
  15. So how does this affect trucks that received the update prior to that date? My truck was updated on Sept' 20th, the day before I picked it up. Will there be a future update to reinstall the radio programming? That being said, I havent noticed any radio issues. Yes Sirius has 'dropped out' but they have been in locations where the same would happen while driving my previous truck.
  16. My 2024 didn't have the 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Trailer Prep Pkg, so there is a plain plastic plug filling the space where the trailer harness connection is made. The Duraliner box liner while including cutouts for the cargo lights & 110V outlet, does not have 1 for the harness connector. Nor did it include instructions for adding a cutout: By eye & taking some measurements, I laid out where the cutout should be: I drilled some 1/2" holes in a pattern smaller than the layout & then gradually opened up the cutout using a carbide burr in a die grinder:

  17. Are the keepers like Tinnerman clips?
  18. If you're in an urban location, industrial supply shops are a cheaper source for fasteners than the dealer. I've never dealt w/ Fastenal, so I can't say how their inventory is. I have heard that Grainger can be pricy. As a retired tool & die maker, I have a couple of shops in the nearby city that I can access.
  19. I played around a bit after supper. I was able to find the TPMS sensors and system selections for the '4 corners'. I wasn't able to see how to reset anything. The manual does mention a Job List: but I don't see a way to access it on the scan tool. This is the home screen of my Creader Elite: Online I did find online a video of a Creader Elite (BMW version) & this is the home screen of it: I'm not sure if the 'Reset button' is to reset the tool or the vehicle.
  20. So far I turn off the heaters after about 30 seconds when the ambient temp has been around freezing. It will be interesting to see if that changes this winter.
  21. @mrjulian416 I bought 1 after seeing your post elsewhere about being able to lower the TPMS 'low pressure setting'. Under the Chevrolet 'tab', the TPMS is listed but there doesnt appear to be an explanation how to access it to change the setting or any other TPMS functions. Also can anyone explain this: I know some RPO codes came up on the screens as you go thru. TIA
  22. On my 2024: I'll dig around to see if there is an adjustment for the temp. I don't see anything other than this. Truck is an LT.
  23. I can't say about the 2021s, but on my 2024, the 'on' temperature is above 32* F/0* C.
  24. Speaking of CA... The other day there was a mention of the TMX oil pipeline going into service this past summer on The Dave Nemo Show. The intent was to get oil to Asian markets since Keystone had been halted. Well in the months since the pipeline started operation, the owner said that 54% of the oil transloaded to tankers in Vancouver BC went to the US West Coast. They didn't specify which of the 3 states, but I'm sure some of that oil went to refineries in CA.
