I purchased a TS501 & am setting it up for the vehicle (2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD). I'v selected the make & model, but I'm stumped as to this screen: Is there a way to know which selection I should make? The truck was built in June of 2023. I have 2 sets of wheels, the OEM rims & a set of steel rims w/ Schrader sensors marked 315/433. The OEM rims are currently on the truck. Any other tips for newbies?

From what I understand from elsewhere, you just have to lower the setting enough that when you lower the tire pressure(s), you don't trigger the system. The accompanying info on Amazon (the 1 screen grab) says you can Read/Write Tire Type/Pressure. What do they mean by 'type'? Is that size lost in translation?

I've never thought of looking for scan tools @ PA before. If I'm in Oshawa, I usually make a stop @ the 1 next door in Whitby.

I ordered the TS501. Not really sure what the difference is, but is priced cheaper than the TS508

I hear you on the pricing of some of the GM accesory flaps too. Around here even the township roads are getting chip sealed/surface treated, so I don't put the miles on them as much anymore. Plus I run a stock size tire nowadays. If I ran an oversize tires like back in my younger days, something like that would be needed.

One of the Quebec trucks I think had the 5th Wheel Prep as the spray in box liner was mentioned (part of it). About the colours, it's amazing that the paint shop that is in use now (built in the early 2000s @ a cost of half a billion dollars for the Car Plant), can't spray all the colours offered...

I finally got an email reply from them. They said they are working on allowing international orders.

I've had 2 trucks w/ the protective film applied to the front of the dood & fenders, plus the door rings by the rockers. IMO they work. Will be making an appointment next week to get it on this truck. I think I had the old school plastic deflector (that conformed to the profile of the hood) on the GMT400 I had back in the 90s.

I checked the Bullet Proof flaps & they are a bit overkill for my needs.

Then you have the added shipping costs... Up to the 90s, the GMC dealer in Oshawa was a couple of miles north of the Truck Plant on the same street. @Chuck FB Were you w/ the salesman when he was searching for a truck? They can include the engine as 1 of the filters. When we were looking last September, the parameters were, Chev, gasser, towing mirrors & LT trim. I'm pretty sure you can add more to narrow things down. I think with those in mind about a dozen & a half trucks fit. I don't know what the results would've been had he switched to a diesel. Some we eliminated due to their colours. I'm not sure what he was using for a radius. There were 2 trucks in Quebec he called about, but they had recently been sold & not taken out of the system. Mine was in Kirkland Lake (461 klicks away) & another w/ UO1 lights in Schreiber (880 klicks) In case we couldn't find a truck & I had to order a 2025, he added & removed filters to see if the results turned up exclusively Oshawa built trucks, but regardless of the filters, it made no difference.

I picked up a 12V female to USB male adapter @ Auto Zone last fall. I had to machine a 'retainer' as the male plug from the GPS kept popping out of the adapter due to the spring pressure. No problems now.

The pic on the Tdot perf' site, has a 5 stud wheel... It'll be a while before I'm @ my dealer to ask, but I will keep it in mind. I did notice on the Weathertech site that 1 of their rear mud flaps does not fit trucks w/ wheel houseliners (which mine has). Maybe start a separate thread as I'm interested in maybe adding these. Mind you these OEM guards are more than what my 2017 was built w/. I did have the dealer add the accessory flaps before I picked it up.

You should cross the river & see the POS pickups cut down for hauling orchard workers around. Old GMT400s & F150s (only identifiable by the front end sheet metal) w/ the frames extended & plywood attached. Add a SMV triangle you're good to go...

Seats and belts in the box. Aren't most jurisdictions outlawing that?

Don't get me started on farm plates. Fancy schmancy pick ups that dont see dirt I dont have a problem w/ but seeing little SUVs that a 25 pound bag of driveway ice melt would put it on the bump stops is another story. There is 1 guy here that owns the family farm but no actual farming takes place that has them on the vehicles. How he gets away w/ it I don't know. Another family that I know sold all their cattle a few years ago (retired) but kept their acreage. Since no income is farm related they just have the usual black & white truck plate on their pick up, no FARM on the side of the plate.

Do you have anything newer than the 2022? According to others on here, GM changed the 'architecture' w/ the '23s or '24s. What worked on previous model years may not be compatible.

Ontario eliminated the 'birthday stickers' on cars & pickups under a certain GVW. I have to buy the for my new truck. In the past dealers were registering 3/4 tons @ the bare minimum. I think a hockey bag & case of beer would put it over the rating... There has been some talk here about travelling out of province w/ an out of date sticker or none. People were saying, just remove it & hope the cop thinks the sticker is on the front.

In Ontario, the yellow sticker is just for commercial vehicle inspections. Abut the window tint, yes there are standards and a lot of vehicles look like the don't meet them, but it's been afes since I heard of anyone being ticketed. When I got the brow tint on my truck last fall the customer following me, wanted whatevever wouldn't draw the attention of the cops. I'm not sure if she was speaking from experience or not. My truck came w/ the same 'mud guards' as Lp's. I looked at the GM site & not going to spend a pile of money for the GM pieces. Weathertech's guards won't work w/ the OEM pieces. Speaking of being able to seeing T.O. from WNY, when I was living in Oshawa & happened to be in the higher elevations away from the lake, I could see the stack from the powerplant near Olcott.

I didn't take a picture, but the RH side had a "hump' similar to the driver's side. Yes I thought so too. The older pickups look nicer with the OEM rims, not some billet nonsense.

Make sure what ever you're looking @ works on the current GM vehicles. I bought a Creader Launch Elite G. It only partially worked w/ my 2024. i bought the adapter that supposedly would correct this, it didn't. I wanted to be able to adjust the TPMS thresholds, but am unable to w/ this tool. Apparently there are scan tools that do permit this. I guess I can use it for any code reading...

I saw this Oshawa built '63 about 6 years ago in the town north of me. I chatted w/ the fellow that owned/restored it. I never thought to ask what motor was in it. He did say that interior parts were difficult to source as they were GMC specific. It would've been built in the North Plant.
