  1. @garagerog Ya know, I was actually thinking about the tires the other day. While I've still got the stock wheels that came on it, it is about due for a tire replacement. They don't have much life left. Ya think them being worn about out would affect the ride that much? I haven't noticed it when it was time to change the tires before.
  2. @davester Thanks. As ignorance(?) may have it, I had to reassemble so my wife could use her truck. I didn't think to take a picture... Anyway, those jounces aren't expensive and while it's no fun to take that stuff apart, it's not too bad. Do you know if the vehicle 'rides' on the jounces, or are they just there to absorb the harder bumps? I did feel a difference with the new shocks, for sure. Just the overall ride isn't what it was.
  3. 2015 GMC Yukon XLT It used to ride like a caddy! Now, at 145,000 miles, more like a log truck on rough roads. I can feel every defect in the road. I found that the front shocks were leaking so I replaced them with OEM. (They are not magnaride or anything special, just plan shocks) Didn't notice any bump 'rebound' even before changing the shocks and none now either. My question revolves around the bump 'jounce'(?) that is housed within the strut. To me, it looked a bit smashed. Do they normally look like that? Does the vehicle actually set on those while going down the road or just when you bottom out? Out on a smooth highway, everything is good. But, hit a road that maybe has some wear and tear on it and you feel it in the seat and steering wheel as well. I was kidding my wife about hitting some train crossings a bit 'hot' for my taste and I can't help but wonder if that somehow affected the ride. Any suggestions/ideas appreciated! Thanks!
  4. Almost exact symptoms for me as well!!! I have a supposedly ‘exact GM replacement’ on the way from RockAuto. Complete negative cable with current sensor. Other GM original options available but folks on here recommend GM instead of cheaper knockoffs and so far the ideas/suggestions here have been pretty much dead on! My replacement is scheduled for delivery tomorrow. Guess I’ll see .. Kudos to all that help with these concerns. Very appreciative! Thanks!
  5. Nice write-up! Thanks! Let us know how things pan out on this unit. I'm a 'Droid guy and have looked a bit at this type of unit as well. I have a 2014 GMC Sierra and I think GM could have been a bit more 'modern' in their attempt at media offerings as well. Jim
  6. @Texasdeere Thanks. I think I'm gonna try a windshield replacement joint and see what they have. The 'cowl' part is still in good condition. The rubber strip is all that has weathered out. I will update when I find out.
  7. Old post, I know. Was hoping you got the answer. That black rubber trim, right? My 2015 Sierra AND mu 2015 Yukon both have the same issue. We're you able to order it?
  8. @richard wysong So, if one has been told that "everything" has been replaced, how can I check that? Now I'm not sure if I need to go to a dealership or to a air-conditioning shop. It's looking like 100°+ this week, again. While my wife's Yukon is nice, I much rather drive my truck. Just a truck guy, I guess!
  9. @MaverickZ71 Great idea! Gonna go to parts store tomorrow and see if their scanner can see anything. My little cheap scanner isn't reporting any issues at all.
  10. @Snowcamo I was told that everything had to be replaced at the time because some of the compressor went all through the system. Never hurts to pull up that invoice and see what's listed, huh?!!
  11. @Todd Harvey Dang! It cost me close to $3,000 when mine blew up! My compressor had a big hole in the bottom when it failed! Freon was everywhere under the hood. Now, if I have to go to a dealership and have it checked. Then, if I elect to have them repair it, several hundred more! I live in NorCal and this past week it was over 106°!! And, my truck is black! I'm hardly driving it now; just too hot. Luckily my wife has a Yukon that blows cool air. Anyone know how I can check those doors without have to go to the dealership?
  12. @Todd Harvey I have what may be a similar issue. My 2014 had it's compressor literally blow apart. They had to replace/clean out everything! Worked great for about 1.5 years. Now having cooling issues, again. Went back to shop that did the repair and when they checked everything out, good pressure and everything. Except it still doesn't cool. I was told I need to have the 'blend' door(s) checked because it may be blending air instead of directly blowing air through the correct vents. Cycling the defrost, heat, and air didn't help. I was told I need to go to the dealership and have them use their scan tool to see if the blend doors are working properly. Apparently there is a little motor that actuator the doors. If anyone knows how I can check this without going to the dealer it would be appreciated!
