Correct way to service 2024 l8t allison trans?
bruceb58 replied to Aimatdeer's topic in 6.6L Gas V8 (L8T)
Of course that would be false. You could have had one welded into your stock pan if you could find someone who did TIG welding. -
I was recently given a cheap winch for my trailer and I’m going to build a front receiver hitch so that I can use it on my truck also. It is a 13,500lb Sinoking winch with synthetic rope and wireless remote. It is mounted on a Badland hitch mount. The lower plastic was removed from my truck several years ago when I built a custom tube framed skid plate for it. The hitch will be tucked up close to the bumper and hopefully I can add a 2” square tube to the back of the skid plate to fit it into the hitch to hide the hitch when it’s not being used. More pictures to come.

Every place on the hi-way is up , lowest is the truck stop, $3.93/ 87, the others haven't broken the $4 barrier yet but getting damned close. Lowest diesel $5.73. I haven't checked local yet but I bet they are over the $4 mark. I've been shopping for a type C motorhome and trying not to buy a Ford, found a couple diesels but the price of fuel is scary

HighMileage oils or stay with Dexos 1 ?
newdude replied to Jworks's topic in 1999-2013 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
Honestly? I've still been keeping it at about 3000mi. A hair over maybe. -
Hovering $4 for regular and $5 for premium.

You are on the money and have been for quite some time. You are a guy that commonly uses common sense. While my post wasn't intended to be religious the parable, in context, isn't from the viewpoint of the person on the path but rather explaining the choice between a standard set by God and one men choose for themselves. So, I'd say yes a person knows if he is attempting to walk a prescribed path or one he makes up as he goes along. As I intended it to be taken, however, the narrow path in oil matters requires knowledge and application of the facts as opposed to the wider path of 'what's on sale and lets run it a few years' thinking or....or....or. Science v Whatever you think. But knowing you @Atlas, I expect you already knew all of this.

My first truck was a Sierra GT and I’ve always wanted another one. I seriously doubt GM will ever make it (or another regular cab Silverado SS) but here’s an AI rendering.

Has anyone had speakers and amps installed without screwing up the CanBus ?

$5.15 / 87 at Kroger this morning to kick off the week. Gotta start jacking it up for the incoming holiday weekend!!

But do we really know who makes it to what set of gates, and where? Like oil and everything else, I think the only answer is to walk toward your own gate, and can't expect anyone else to follow.

One week old 2026 High Country 3.0 Duramax with 220 miles. Issue started with a failure to "auto start" Sunday morning. Started from within the cab via the push button and all appeared well. Then later in the afternoon and again the "auto start" failure and the push button start in the cab but this time I had two big completely black screens staring back at me. The vehicle is awaiting a GM roadside assistance tow to the dealer for diagnostics. I bought the diesel due to zero faith in the gas engines, but it would appear that does not make one immune to failures. My life long love of GM is failing and I have began to think other brands might be a better option.
