I’ve got a 2023 AT4X and when I start the truck up, I may already have the A/C blowing full speed and about 12-15 seconds in, it automatically turns to low on the fan speed. I do not have it in auto mode, temperature setting is at “low”. Recirculation is set to on. It does this every single time. It has to be something minor but I can’t figure it out. Being in Texas it’s hotter than you know what. I Get in, turn AC up full blast and then 12 seconds later it turns down then I have to press the button to turn the fan speed back up . Only does it after starting the vehicle up. Anyone have any ideas? Thx.

Agreed! I'm ready to buy an HD but want 10 speed is deal breaker. I need it. Meanwhile I will continue to enjoy my paid off truck. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

Agreed, the moment GM comes out with the 6.6 gas in a 10 speed I will be the first to buy. I have a 2014 GM Sierra 1500. I'm ready to upgrade. I drove my brother in-laws 10 speed Ford and I liked it but I am a GM guy. Does anyone know if the 2022 models will be 10 speed for the gas? Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

Would you buy the gasser or diesel?
WhiteMike replied to Londart2020's topic in 2020-2026 Silverado HD & Sierra HD
Is there any word if/when GM will offer the 2500 HD gas with the 10 speed transmission? The other day I drove a 10 speed diesel and man it was a big difference. I do not need a diesel but would certainly love the 6.6 with a 10 speed. Thank you. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk -
Mine wasn't so much a reception problem just crackling in speakers. They now sound GREAT. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

I use GAY GMC in Dickinson, TX. They are the one who fixed it. I went back to my service agent and asked him the name of the specific update as I had a friend of my who had the same issue. He didn't give me a specific number or anything, but this is what he replied via e-mail. "They have to go into programming and try to program radio based on program in radio, if has latest update it will tell them not to update." I know he didn't provide a specific bulletin number or anything, (I asked for bulleting # or I.D number) I'm sure if you go in and say you want to make sure you have the latest update for your radio any dealer should be able to check. I had (2) different updates done to mine. I knew they did something before even hearing the radio because all my presets were deleted. It took 1 hr and worked like a charm! Can't believe it took 3 years to fix but glad it did. AM and FM radio now sound crystal clear and no horrible crackling sound. I hope that helps!

Good Afternoon Everyone, I FINALLY after 3 years and 2 months have a fix for my horrible radio crackling sound. I have a 2014 GMC Sierra SLT. (The SLE trucks didn't have the problem as they didn't have the BOSE) Since day 1 my A.M & F.M radio has been awful. A horrible crackling noise in the speakers. MP3 or Satellite radio was just fine. Only Radio stations. Over the years they have replaced the speakers, antenna, changed settings and no fix. I wasn't ready to give up. A month ago I escalated the issued to GM customer care again as my dealer never had a fix in 3 years. Long story short, customer care said there was no fix and offered me $2,500 owners loyalty credit for new vehicle. No thank you... If I buy new again it wouldn't be GM. I had enough. I wrote a letter and send it FedEx to the CEO of GM. 3 days later I get a call from a woman named Reisha in GM Corporate office. She was FANTASTIC! She called my dealership and got in touch with engineer team again. She called me every 2-3 days with an updated even if there was nothing to report. I was then told to go to my dealership and they needed to do an update to the program on my truck. I was told it would take @ 1 hr. The last updae GM put out was March 2016 for the radio issue. I have taken it in 2x since and they never tried this. Well, I took it in this morning and within 1 hours they downloaded the 2 updates to the truck. I got in and all my presets were wiped out so I knew they did something. I instantly noticed my FM station they had it on sounded very clear. (I'm here in Houston, TX so there should never be a bad clarity situation with a major station.) I then turned it over to the AM station (610am and 790am here in Houston) and it sounds SUPER SUPER CLEAR! No crackling sounds, just perfect! I couldn't believe my ears. I wasn't optimistic this would fix the problem but boy was I wrong! I didn't receive a service sheet or anything so I'm not exactly sure what the update was. But I believe they said it was last update GM put out was MArch 2016. It had something to do with updating the radio and downloading something. All I can say is WOW. Finally, 39 months later I can listen to AM and FM radio without it sounding like a chalkboard. I can't wait for my evening drive home and what now feels like my "New" again truck. My faith has been restored in GM! It's 5 O'clock and time for me to leave work and listen to my Houston Sports AM station in pure clarity! Adios! Brian

As a matter of fact I was looking at 2017 Tundra and Fords today... my 20 minute commute each morning has worse a.m radio. I'm 20 miles from downtown Houston! Not some small town in Montana. Just to clarify, the signal is fine but the horrible crackling in speakers is just awful. They have swapped speakers, tuned trebble high/low. Shift sound more to back speakers vs front or center. I've had enough. My sorry G.M service team just says "No fix" Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

EXTREMELY Unfortunate that GM has failed to address and fix this issue. Now I'm past 36k miles and zero leverage at all. I have had nothing but service manager leave, get told "No fix yet but aware of it." Just awful. I have zero plans of buying another GM vehicle. I have been a life long GM guy but failure to fix this issue after 3 years is inexcusable!!!!!!! Could something like this happen with my next Ford, Toyota, Dodge vehicle? Sure.... but I would be able to handle it a lot better vs getting burned again. I was always told, fool me once shame on you... fool me twice shame on me. I won't allow a 2nd chance unless GM finally steps up to plate and does what they need to fix my truck. I listen to the radio every single day and get pissed every day. Can't believe I have lasted this long in this truck. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

I have not had a chance yet to bring it back to the dealership to see if the can put in non-bose speakers. But as I have mentioned before, I have the 2014 SLT model. I have been in multiple loaner trucks which were only SLE, and did not have the Bose Speakers and they sounded great. No static in AM or FM radio. I'm now past my 36,000 miles and they BETTER not give me grief about trying to fix speakers. Because I have invoices showing they tried but no fix yet.... I get it, Lemon Law will not work because it does not effect the safety of the vehicle. Little leverage here.

I have been fighting this battle with my 2014 truck now for 2.5 years. I have a 2014 SLT with Bose Radio. I have rode in 2014, 2015, 2016 SLE loaner vehicles and they all sound great. I'm taking my truck in for the airbag recall this week. I will ask them to replace the front dash speakers with the "regular" non-bose speakers that are in the SLE models. Sad I have to go to a lesser sounding speaker, but if it stops the horrible crackling sound I would be more than happy. I'll let you guys know what I find.... Not holding my breath.

Going on 2 years 7 months for my 2014 Sierra. My front dash speakers still crackle and worse than my $15.00 alarm clock radio. Its PATHETIC. Sounds crazy, but I am NEVER buying a GM again. I get it, problems exist... but better stand by your product and be willing to fix any and all problems. Ive taken it to the dealer multiple times for this issue. Still no fix. I planned on taking it next week for other issue. Sad thing is, everytime I get in the SLE truck without Bose radio, those are fine. All SLT had this issue at my dealer. Service manager acknowledged rhe problem but years later still no fix. I plan on writing a couple letters this week and sending certified mail to their headquarters. Enough is enough.

This is so unfortunate. I have a 2014 1500 Sierrra SLT and this crackling drives me NUTS! I have taken it in multiple times for this issue. No fix. They replaced the speakers, changed all bass/trebble etc. Something with the antenna, nope..... There is a buge thread dating back to 2013/2014. Im actually looking for it now as im takin my truck in Tuesday for another issue. I was curious if there was a fix yet... Here is the kicker.... the 2014 SLE truck that doesn't have the BOSE radio, the speakers sound great . (I drove their loaner which was a SLE and it sounded great.) So we paid more for SLT with BOSE but sounds worse. A.M radio sounds awful. Pisses me off when dealer says you can listen in I heart radio... Im like no.... 50k truck I should be able to listen to my a.m radio. Arrrrrhhhhh so frustrating.

I took my truck to 2 places, Autozone and advance auto part. Auto zone wouldn't touch it b.c of that cross member. It took the tech about 20 min to replace and he had all the tools. Wasn't easy. I was so mad with a dead battery after 2.5 yr and seeing how hard it was. Almldt made me want to trade my truck in lol.

Here is very similar picture as posted before. I really should do a straight shot vs the angle shot with tire turned. This was just how I had it in the driveway when I decided to take the picture.

Sorry for the delay. I tried posting last week using the tapatalk app, but it said my pictures were too big. I have since shrunk the photo. Here they are. I must say, what a huge and awesome change. Makes a nice luxury truck (SLT model) feel like a real truck after having the 2" level and new tires. I had the 2" "Zone" level put on the front. For the tires, I put 285/55/20 BF Goodrich A/T KO2. Pros -Truck looks 10x better with the level. (Even with factory tires still on before I put new tired on it looked better) -New BF Goodrich A/T K02 tires look great on the truck. Not over the top aggressive, but not boring either. -No rubbing at all. - Perfect height for what I was looking for. Cons -looks about like 1.5-2mpg difference - But I have mostly only driven city miles. With gas $1.80 it's no biggie. -Noise is not an issue, but the tires are louder than factory. With radio on, you barely can even hear them. -Slightly rougher ride when going over potholes or traintracks, but not much difference at all. Overall, without a doubt I'd do this same setup again. It's not too high, not too big tires, just perfect for what I was looking for. I didn't even tell my wife I was doing it. She even said, "Man look at those tires, that looks really good...." she doesn't even pay much attention to my vehicle either. So she noticed.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 I liked the look a little better, had good success years ago with BFG. Figured both were good. My main tire shop (Discount Tire Co.) both had service guys tell me the BFG seems like better tire. Less problems they see. Who know.... 2" level kit being installed tomorrow, and 285/55/20 BFG on Wednesday! Can't wait.

I'm soon putting on a 2" level on my 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT. I'm going to go with 285/55/20. Now I'm just trying to decide on which tire. 1. BF Goodrich A/T KO2 or 2. Nitto Terra Grappler G2 I'm here in Texas, only off-road I will be doing is rarely in the sand on the beach but it's essentially a mute point as either tire will do the trick. Mostly city/highway. Any pros/cons on determining which tire to go with? Or more of a look? Price is $90.00 more total for Nitto, so I am not concerned about the money. Ideally safety in rain, ride quality, sound, etc is what I am looking for. Thanks!
-
I have a 2014 SLT and this is the exact look I am looking for. Slight leveling, with BGF on the 20" aluminum wheels. I know very little about top spacers, swapping rear blocks... what does that do? What size level kit is the Rough Country you used? Is your truck a 2014, 2015 or 2016?

I personally cannot see why the A.M radio reception is so hard to fix. I have taken my 2014 Sierra SLT to dealer 4x for the radio reception. Constant crackling is REALLY bad on A.M srations. Im here in Houston, TX 10 miles from downtown. Funny thing is, the 2014 SLE's I had as a loaner car, had ZERO problems with the A.M reception and clarity. Its the SLT models that have the crackling. We tried changing speakers, to disconnecting wires to mew antenna. Nothing works. I paid top dollar for SLT model but the SLE works better, go figure. If my 2015 ur end there is no fix, I'm selling this G.M and never going back!
-
If I wouldn't lose my shirt I would have sold my 2014 SLT yesterday. I understand new models have problems. But for G.M not to own up to their problems is what bothers me the most. The top of line 2014 SLT all have horrible A.M radio. It crackles and sounds awful. As I mentioned my $15.00 alarm clock radio sounds better. I've absolutely had it. Tomorrow I plan to print off every single page of this entire thread, write a letter on my letterhead, and FedEx it overnight to the C.E.O desk. I doubt anything happens but I will try. What else can we do???? Dealer received $ for truck. Dealer has tried 3x to fix the radio. From replacing speakers, playing with all connections and no fix. Banging my head against the wall.
-
I have been complaining about that crackling in the speakers. It seems to only be in the dash. Also, only occurs in the SLT models. I had a loaner SLE and it sounded great. My service guys cannot figure it out. I listen to A.M radio and its horrible. My $20.00 alarm clock radio sounds better. 1 yr later still not happy. They have replaced the speaker and it didnt do anything. Changed treble and bass settings, no fix still.

My F.M. HD radio works fine and I live in Houston, TX. My biggest complaint in the A.M radio reception. The Bose speakers, only in the front dash, have this HORRIBLE crackle noise when listening to a.m radio. You can hear it on F.M but it's not as distinguishable. I have taken it in 3x and no fix yet. I plan on taking it in next week to get one of the recalls fixed and oil change. I do plan on recording the horrible crackling audio on my phone and then also recording my $25.00 shower radio which has a.m radio. There is a huge difference as my shower radio is crystal clear. I plan on FedEx the audio tape to 5 different GM executives. Tell them to put the cd in their computer and listen....

I noticed my seat began moving after about 3 months of owning it. Build was started Jan 2014. I took it in to my service dept and mentioned it to them. They said yes, we do have a service bulletin. Bulletin # PI1183 (2) 11611745 Retainer 11.373 N (2) 332364 Retainer 8.950 Y Seems like the fix has worked thus far, but it's only been 4 days.
