  1. I kind of wish I didn't let the dealer rubber coat both my tucks just to see how bad this rust really is. They put a nice thick coat of it everywhere on both of my trucks so I can't complain, I just wish I could see it for myself. 2. The batteries that come on the 14s are pretty pathetic if you ask me. I live in Canada and we have had quite a few -30 and lower days now and I have had to use my booster box a lot now. I went into the dealer yesterday about this and they said they know the factory batteries suck as a few people have complained to them. I've also noticed the truck turns over for ever before it will catch when it's cold out which drives me nuts. Hopefully GM will give us an update for the cold start start problems.
  3. Mine is pretty loud and obvious that the 4wd is working when I have it engaged. Even if auto I still have the transfer case noise going on, I think it's normal. Do you have a SLT or SLE? I find when I drive my Dads SLT its much quieter than mine which is an SLE. The SLT more than likely has more sound deadening in it even though the interiors look the same.
  4. Just disconnect the tube to the box, unplug your maf, and give it a couple good tugs. It just presses into 2 rubber grommets. For some reason I always have a hard time snapping it back in though.
  5. The 20 or so hp you will pick up from the tune isn't what you will really notice. The biggest gain you get from the tune on a stock truck will be transmission tuning. Changing shift points, pressure, and playing with tq management will make biggest difference.
  6. It's an absorber inside the tailgate housing down by the pivot things (don't know what they are called).
  7. My 2010 cobalt ss was a nightmare with the srs lights. It was always the little explosive thing in the passenger side seat belt tensioner that locks your belt if you crash. I replaced it 3 times and I payed for the last one as my warranty ran out. It was all over the cobalt forums and was well known to pop up. Anyways, I think there are quite a few gm cars out there now that have this issue with the passenger seat belt tensioner. It's not cheap to fix though when your warranty runs out, cost me 722 dollars installed. Ask the dealer to check the passenger seat belt tensioner and check the wires to see if the have been pinched or pulled (from being rotated).
  8. After 2 hours of mixed driving up to the cottage including sitting in traffic and a long highway jog I averaged 25.6 MPG. This truck isn't far off from what I got in My cobalt ss so I'm not regretting the purchase what so ever as far as gas worries go. When sitting on flat even highway and cruising at 110 km/h, it would almost constantly stay at 30 mpg and would always stay in V4 mode.
