  1. Ive been using the Fram fresh breeze with charcoal from walmart...paid $14. The carton is the size of the filter i just cut out one end and voila....debris shield Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I believe you have to drive hwy speeds for 10-15 min for the display to correct itself according to the manual.
  3. You and your brother need to read all the complaints about the new Tacoma. Bad rear diffs with a 3-4 month wait to repair. www.tacomaworld.com
  4. Why use a plastic sheet? Just use one side of the carton the filter comes in ??
  5. Interesting....my craftsman shop vacs crevice tool just fits in the air box where the filter sits.
  6. Did you try a shop vac with a crevice tool attachment?
  7. Perhaps the question to ask the service advisor is how is GM going to fix this issue? Really it's not the service advicors fault and going off on them doesn't do much. Frankly I think GM should offer a goodwill repair for everyone up to 8 yr/100K miles. It's insulting to then charge those parts and labor after having to wait months for a part to be redesigned and produced.
  8. Auto anything shows they have condensors on hand.
  9. How's the saying go...its better to remain silent and appear a fool then open your mouth and remove all doubt...mook never fails to disappoint.
  10. It all makes sense with you mook. Instead of actually doing any real reading to formulate your conclusions or insights, you muster your knoweldge on things like,Goodyear tires are rolling death traps, all ford ecoboost engines die before 60K and in a desert environment, run your oil to 12K ocis, but change your air filter every 10K for real $$ savings....it all makes sense....you learn your facts around pissers at bars and porta johns on construction sites......if you want to believe that 700 added pounds does nothing to your mpg...have at it, just don't try to make those arguments with auto enthusiasts, keep it around your porta johns and construction sites.....lol
  11. A couole of months ago? So possibly summer blend gas, and mostly highway and weather warmer ould have easily caused your uptick in mpgs? Manufacturers spend a lot of R&D money to shave weight off these vehicles to meet CAFE standards....28 pounds may not sound like a lot to you but add that to the info i linked overall and thats some pertinent saupivngs. Ask, why would Ford move to aluminum on their best selling most profitable vehicle if weight savings wasn't a thing? Ever think how much it cost them to retool their factory? Some manufacturers have decided to save weight in areas such as an expanded fuel tank; not to mention the lack of area underbody to add such a thing without the tank dropping below the frame and causing drag and possible damage. Do you always throw crap out and hope it sticks? http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2016/05/how-are-pickups-shedding-weight.html
  12. Who said anything about feeling it power wise? Any added weight is going to affect mpgs in some way.
  13. Hence why i said 30 pounds versus our 26 gallon. Go to 34 gallons, now you're running what would be sand tubes in the bed of your truck.
  14. I think a 30 gallon tank wouk be about right. I think people forget gas weighs a lot so adding bigger tanks means more weight, thus less mpgs. Also many gas stations here limit each fuel purchase to 30 gallons.
  15. Good luck man. Unfortunately many manufacturers have stipualtions claiming any non OEM tune will indeed invalidate the factory warranty. Because of this when you installed the tuner it places a log entry in the engines computer bank which a dealer can access. Since your warranty was voided by tge tuner, the manufacturer no longer hasto prove the invalid tune caused the oil pump failure...your warranty ceased the very moment you installed the tune. Maybe GM will work with you, but their liabilities are outlined in their warranty manual manual.
  16. Ticking is normal on DI engines....nothing to worry about
  17. Yeah, i think you are letting all the horror stories on this site about vibration issues get you. Based on what I have seen and read, your dealer seems to be more thorough in their approach. Many dealers seem to only do a road force balance then call it quits. If it doesn't work out Friday, ask your dealer what the next step is because it did drive right the first 1300 miles. 18. Be optimisic...at least your dealer is working hard to fix the issue. They could have said "Operating within parameters" asothers have had to go through.
  19. That's assuming you have large amounts of carbon deposits. As others have mentioned top end induced cleaner won't cure 100K+ of neglect and carbon buildup. If people are worried about valve coking and are proactive about it early in their engines life, that will be more successful than worrying about it later in the engines life. With that all being said, i have complete faith that if you use a quality oil and change the oil based on OEM recommendations many if most owners wont fall victim to crippling carbon build up in their engines.
  20. Go to you local auto parts store or Wally World and buy a can of GDI Intake Valve cleaner and perform every oil change. Costs $9-$12.
  21. At this point, i would ask for my $1400 back and for the dealership to do a goodwill repair for your troubles.
  22. Idk man, reread your post it, claims your dents appear from what looks like door dings, maybe edit your title to random denting or mysterious denting.
  23. Cool....your initial post said "As if someone hit it with a door" your words....not mine. There's a post out there with someone who had the same issue. Found it http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/163922-mysterious-dents-crinkles-along-bed-fender/page-3?hl=dents&do=findComment&comment=1945192
  24. Confusing...either you have door dings or you don't??
  25. Thats the cost of parking close to the door.
