    I had Michelin's mounted, to no avail, shakes are still there. I feel like the vibes are coming from the front axles, or intermediate shaft not the main drive shaft. The vibration "pulses" like it is running up and down a sine curve.. trading this shaker soon!

    I actually thought about filling the frame with Great Stuff haha.. maybe that would dampen things. Anyone with vibration issues have problems with the forward shaft (on 4 wheel drive versions)?

    YES, mine does the same and gets worse at higher speeds. dealer told me "running as designed"... really? I will revisit this, as I did not know there was a TSB out on it. Kind of gave up on any hope of a fix for this truck.

    My truck does the same. At high speeds, smooth roads, I turn on 4x4 Auto and bam.. there it is. A grind/growl type noise. Perhaps it is the transfer case, or front differential. Local dealer "looked" at this last week and tells me this is normal to hear grinding. Crazy. Will be bringing to another dealer.

    kchaggins ... I have driven a '99 Silverado LT extended cab 5.3 3.42 Z-71 for 14 years and 300,000 miles... still own it and still rides like a dream. Replaced it with a new 2014 Silverado LT Double Cab 5.3 3.08 gears Z-71 and wish I never did. This truck shimmies, shakes, vibrates all the issues you see on these post. GM has "looked" at it more than several times, and found it to be 'driving as designed'. IF this is true, GM design engineers should be fired. As a side note, I am starting to think some of the vibrations are coming from the transfer case. When switching into 4 Wheel Auto (at high speeds), there is gear noise and a high pitched "whining" that is very noticeable. Either way, this could be an excellent truck. The vibrations just need to be figured out!

    Has anyone checked the transfer case? Or front differential while engaged? At highway speeds (smooth road tracking straight) changing from 2 wheel drive into 4 HI, the every so slight and annoying vibration becomes very apparent, and a slight wining noise can be heard.... I will be bringing mine in to check this out.

    Has anyone looked at the transfer case? Driving along @60-65mph on a newly paved concrete tollway, going straight, I put the truck into 4 wheel drive "Auto" mode. The rumble strip vibration I have been struggling with suddenly gets much worse. When I disengage the 4 wheel "Auto" back to 2 wheel "Hi", after several miles it seems to dissipate back to a slight rumble strip vibration (felt in the steering wheel and pedal and slightly in the seat) especially at 40-50 mph. Perhaps something in the front drive line is the source... Putting in 4 wheel "Hi" also has the same affect.. and I am going completely straight forward.

    Well that is my point, shifting into 4WD Auto does not change the angle...

    So, when not in 4WD (Auto or HI) mode, no vibration; when in 4WD (Auto or HI) mode you get vibration. Dealer is claiming this is due to lift kit and thus prop angle change? Does the angle change when you are switching in and out of 4WD? Of course not.. So aren't the axles spinning anyhow? I have this same vibration when in 4WD drive auto mode, and worse in 4HI which is very pronounced at highway speeds (no modifications to my truck). This happened to my '99 Silverado, which ultimately needed a new front gear box. Perhaps its the actual front gear box?

    If it is the torque converter, would this still apply if the truck was in neutral and OFF? I tried this, and saw no change in the vibration/wobble sensation. I now have 10k miles on the truck. Very unhappy and disappointed in GM. Hope they find a fix soon. My fix will be to trade in on a new Ford, which almost hurts to say...

    thanks for the reply. I will still ask my dealer to look at the gears, they were rumbling pretty good today (under heavy acceleration).

    What was your trucks build date? Mine was assembled July 2013 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana , and I have similar vibrations (3.08 gears). Perhaps this is where my problem is also. Did they reinstall your original prop shaft?

    This is exactly how my truck rides. Different road surfaces will effect the amount of vibration/shimmy considering same speed. Smooth/new concrete highways seems to have the worst effect. I am not sure the drive shaft/rear end could be contributing here?? The dealer road force balanced twice, and an independent tire shop as well. This had no effect. I have 18" rims on a Z-71, dealer swapped 16" rims from another truck and said it was much worse than the 18's.. Reinstalled the 18's and told drive it awhile and see.... so here I am 7k miles and shimmy shimmy shake shake. However no brake problems at all, they work rather well.

    I would agree. This Silverado Z71Double Cab of mine has been very disappointing to say the least. And since the ECM flash to richen the fuel mixture, my mileage has suffered. My '99 with 273k gets about the same mileage, no AFM and no vibration.. Wait for the new aluminum body Ford with the V8, or check out the new 2015 8 speed Silverado coming this fall (?). Also I might add to stay away from the 3.08 gears, runs like a pooch.

    FB - force balance. I have driven my friends 2104 Sierra equipped the same, and felt the vibration however not as pronounced. The dealer has driven a few different Silverado's from their lot, and claim they all have the same vibration - sensation as they call it. GM rep states the truck is 'as designed'. I must believe GM is aware of this problem but just does not have a fix at this time. I will keep trying though..

    I have a new 2014 Silverado Z-71 with a vibration in the steering wheel and gas pedal. This is speed and road sensitive. On smoother roads the vibration is more pronounced. The dealer has looked at the truck, test drove, FB tires and conclusion was that "there is a 'sensation' and this is normal". The dealer even swapped wheels from another new truck, and stated "the vibration was so bad he had to pull over as he thought the lug nuts were loose". So original wheels were put back on. GM rep also drove the truck and states "this is one of the smoother trucks". All told, I am left with a new truck that has a vibration problem. It is not excessive, and therefore hard to pinpoint. I have read posts on the GM Forum, there are several owners experiencing the same issue. Not sure of my next step. Other than this annoying vibration, love the truck....

    Yes, I have the standard LT headlamps. The moisture was in the bottom "high-beam" lamps. This appeared right after the dealer washed the truck the day I bought it in late November. Have been keeping an eye on it. Winter season now, and have not seen any since.
