  1. So the first dealer I brought it to mentioned nothing about the tires so that’s good. However they drove it and tried to tell me it was normal. They checked all the suspension parts to make sure everything was tight but didn’t check the alignment. So I brought it to a different dealer on Friday and they could tell it was just driving it out of the entrance bay into the service bay. So they reset the alignment with the steering wheel straight. Unfortunately whoever did it over corrected it so now the wheel is off the other way. So it’s going back in on Tuesday
  2. Not to derail this thread but if you think a Chevy half ton with the 5.3 will tow better than a Ram ecodiesel you’ve clearly never done it with both. The Ram ecodiesel drive train is great for towing within its capacity. and I wasn’t comparing the ecodiesel to the HD Silverado. What I was saying was while my ecodiesel has the power to tow well, the 1500 platform doesn’t have the payload and capacity that I need for my new trailer that’s being built.
  3. Just picked up my new 2021 3500 gasser yesterday. Drove it 5-1/2 hours home and noticed it definitely pulls to the right. Had to hold the wheel a couple degrees to the left to go straight. My issue is I had the dealer put different tires on it for me before I picked it up. I stuck with the factory size but went from the Michelin LTX at2’s that came stock to the BFG K02. I emailed the dealer right away this morning to ask if anyone drove the truck after putting the tires on, he said he would check. I told him I was concerned that if I brought it in to have it checked they wouldn’t cover anythin
  4. Thanks, I like the white like yours too but the wife doesn’t. We were going to order a midnight edition but I happened to come across this blue one and we both liked the look. Flying out Monday to drive it home. Looking forward to seeing how it looks with the K02’s on it
  5. I had to chime in here, also had a heck of time finding a truck. Couldn’t order what I wanted so scoured the web and found a crew cab 3500 LT gasser, blue with the Z71 sport. It was the 10th or so truck I’d called on, all of the other ones sold already or presold. Put money down to hold it right away. Mine was also 4-5k more than the one I wanted to order but with no idea when I’d be able to order it I had to jump on it. Flying out next week to pick it up and make the 5hr drive home. I was disappointed that the 3500’s come with Michelin LTX AT2 tires, I hear they are nice but they look like st
  6. I'm glad I found this topic. OP I am in the same boat as you. I currently have a 2020 Ram Ecodiesel and I must say it is a fantastic truck. I currently tow an RV fish house with it that is 26' total length, probably 5,500lbs when loaded up with a hitch weight of 750lbs or so. While my truck pulls this thing fantastic, I can definitely tell it is there. We currently have a bigger heavier custom RV fish house being built and the builder is telling me to expect a tongue weight of 1k lbs. And there is no WDH that works with it. So I'm upgrading to an HD truck. I don't want an HD diesel so I'm goin
  7. It depends of course on what you are trying to tow. But IMO that is a good compromise for both. Decent towing gear and good for mileage.
  8. open your glove box and there will be a sticker with a bunch of RPO codes on it. Look for codes that start with G, there should only be 1 or 2. Go to the home page of this site and click on the tools tab, there will be an RPO code look up. You can type the code in there and find out what gears you have.
  9. What gears do you have? My truck at the moment is just a weekend vehicle so it is a pretty even mix of highway and town driving. I have 4.10 gears and over the last year I'm at 16.5mpg average.
  10. The things you just said about being able to have a guilt free day off really hits home with me. A lot of the reason I demoted myself is because for the last 5 years I haven't been able to take any time off or go on vacation without worrying about work and I'm tired of it. My wife gets more days off in one year than I've had in the last 5 years combined.
  11. I know it's easy to spend other peoples money, but if I was spending that kind of money on a truck why not go with the 6.2? I would stay away from 22" wheels and tires
  12. I am in a somewhat similar situation. I have been with my current company for 9-1/2 years. The first 4 years I was just another guy but they liked me so they moved me into a management position. I have been on and off unhappy ever since I took the job. About a month ago I finally told my boss that I was done with the job and going back to my old position. Now luckily I have the option to do that and it won't effect my life style at all. It is a pretty big pay cut but luckily my wife has a really good job too. Only you know if the effects of the money loss will be less stressful than the job. B
  13. I can attest to the battery thing as well. About 2 weeks after I picked up my current Silverado the wife and I went out to eat breakfast in the morning. When I started the truck to leave the restaurant the truck gauges and radio went nuts like nothing I have ever seen. I was thinking oh my I think the computer just fried or something because the battery had showed no indication it was bad at all. Sure enough I replaced the battery and everything was fine. It is amazing the issues that can be caused from the battery.
