  1. Act now! Mileage will hurt above 20k Best of luck.
  2. In your CAMVAP application ask that an "independent" licensed mechanic review your case, also have the CAMVAP Arbitrator drive along with you to experience this your truck's vibrations. Video and a time line journal of events is key here to win your case! GM what the f*** fix your truck's from shaking. Best of luck!
  3. I hope they/you drive some other trucks to compare, then you will have a good argument. Best of luck to ya!
  4. Just trying to help you out, this does fix some peoples issues though! What's your service dealer saying about your issue? Good luck
  5. Here you go possibly your issue.....http://sandyblogs.com/techlink/?s=Check+valve&search=Search Good luck
  6. Fuel pressure check valve line, located at rear of engine closer to the right side. This will make a rattling noise when check valve is defective. Check valve is located inside this short fuel line piece. Hope this helps you find your issue, not gonna claim that this is your problem though but a possibility! Here you go for a read http://sandyblogs.com/techlink/?s=Check+valve&search=Search Good luck
  7. There was an issue with some torque converter failures. The cause I believe was hairline fractures, that may have been caused by bad machining, or weakened welds? There was a TSB on the issue. Not sure of the TSB number, or year and range though. Also there were some solenoid known failures as well. Good luck
  8. Report your safety concerns to the NHTSA site. Compile and send a registered letter listing your safety concerns with your VIN # included with a contact phone number to the address listed in your owners hand book. Keep your letter and concerns brief to "what is happening and when" and keep all other "I think" info out of the safety letter! Now you have met your legal requirement of notification of safety issue to the manufacture. If anything happens at a latter date you now have a legal argument of neglect to fix their safety related issue. If and when they agree to have your vehicle checked and repaired, ask that a factory engineer be included in their repair attempts, and only except your vehicle back with a report of findings and or fix applied. Your the owner and are legally allowed to know what work that has been done to your vehicle. Best of luck
  9. Report this issue to the..... https://www.nhtsa.gov/ This is a safety issue needing an investigation!

  12. The only 2 things that can make that sound and noise are fuel related. First being the injectors they are alot louder now then in past years, but I think your issue is from this the other possibility....the fuel return line check valve. It is at the back of the engine and runs against the engine bay / cab wall middle of instrument panel. It is known to be loud while ticking away at engine rpm. This could be removed and insulated to reduce this unpleasant noise. Take care and good luck!
  13. Yes frame beaming! It happens when energy being produced by means of the engine, driveline, and road to tire stimulates the frame. These energy frequencies should be predictable within an operating range/pattern. If any component is changed out example (tires, driveline, body mounts, engine mounts ect...) this could change the energy frequency enough to cancel out some energy removing the shake, or actually start a new shake as well! This is why some people claim their shaking started after breakin of truck, or after a tire swap or component change. In my believe that all of these trucks shake from engine energy, but most trucks absorb enough energy to keep it in check. The early 5.3L (2007-2013) have a resonance when in v4 mode as well, but the frames are heavier and absorbs energy better in my opinion. Some compression rate changes and a complete swap over to aluminum blocks from steel, also invite some investigation as well. Gm knows whats going on, and they will fix it I'm guessing at next major model change. Thxs
  14. Bingo! They build in a safety margin to allow enough air in to the cabin to protect occupants from build up of harmful gases.
  15. Ask your mechanic to place mark a line with crayon from rim to tire, this will rule out his suspicions.....and then a new theory will be hatched again!I have heard people claim this, but it's not true in my opinion. Thxs Good luck
  16. Their towing numbers "tongue weight" and payload would drop considerably. We all know well about this race to be the best in class....bragging rights!
  17. Frame beaming.....energy from the engine, road, driveline is the culprit! These new frames are made of lighter steel made from spring steel, or heat treated metal in laymans terms. These new frames are very stiff and very light weight, when energy is absorbed into the frame it starts to vibrate and oscillation occours. Tires, driveshaft, and the rest of their monkey wrench attempts to change "cancel" out this vibration of engine, road energy is all they can do. GM knows this frame is vibrating and causing trouble....2018's frame should have big changes to eliminate this issue. Best of luck to you!
  18. Valve lifter knock or injector, this will occur until valve lifters fill with oil, as they leak down when engine is at a 4hr cold soak. They fill within 30 seconds of running, but sometimes if there was traped air oil "foaming" they can make a knocking noise for closer to a minute. It sounds like an engine rotational sound, it could be the tensioner pulley? Listen at the front of engine with a hose, then the valve cover to close in on the sound. Do it when the engine sat cold for 4hrs though. Thxs
  19. This truck must be the lottery winner I suppose!
  20. Sounds like the tensioner pulley bearing failure? Let us know what it ends up being.
  21. My buddy's friend was over, we were shooting the shit about cars and stuff he entions he works for a dealer as a servicemanager. Well I almost fell over my self, boy did I have questions for him. I asked him about the vibration issue happening on these trucks, well he told me there's an issue without a doubt. He says they all have the clunky transmission, and weird shifting issues, but the vibration issue is real. He says out of every 10 trucks sold, he is dealing with 3 trucks with vibration, shaking issues. Some are worst then others, and he metioned about new bushings coming out, as well as new body mounts too. He also says the exhaust flapper was an issue for some trucks, but this is only part of the issue. In most cases, he has asked GM for assistance to get them into a different truck, as he had no solution to correct the vibration issues for most after many attempts.
  22. Have an independent tire, and front end repair companies review your shake/vibration and let them attempt a repair, then you send a registered letter of defect to GM from your owners manual that you need your truck repaired. Then seek a lemon lawyer, or attorney. Get a video of your truck shaking! You have this under control, when you are prepared and stay in control!
  23. Now I'm confused? E rated tires are for loads usually an 8ply tire. P rated tires are exactly that passenger vehicle tire. LT tire is a light truck usually under 3/4 ton and is suited for light loads 1/2 to 3/4 ton trucks. Now the psi rating on a tire is what the tire can max handle, this does not mean you should run your truck at those numbers. Your drivers door jamb has recommended tire pressure listed for front and back tires, as well as cold tire ratings. Running a LT tire, you should be ok from recommended truck's tire pressure up to 45 psi. Running an E rated tire can handle much more psi as it is usually a 8 ply tire used manly for loads and towing. The amount of psi pressure you apply to your tires, should always meet the trucks recommended psi from driver's door jamb, and never exceed the max rating from installed tire. My recommendation are 32-38 psi max for p tires. LT tires 35-48 psi max. E rated tires 35-55 depending on load being moved. Thxs
  24. Exactly, what is everyone going to do when new tires are needed? The real problem is not tires.....yes ou can have tires that make your ride vibrate, but I bet any tires they throw at this truck design will still shake! Removing the truck's tires, and placing the truck on jack stands by means of the axle supports should duplicate this issue at its known problem speed. Rhythmic energy issues can be duplicated, just need to create the conditions, so a good perfectly "balanced" tire may help mask these vibrations until the next tire change. Testing should include steel, rubber, and energy absorbing components clamped to frame and cabin. This can be preformed by use of "c-clamps" and placed within 6-8" of cabin, frame, engine mount areas. This should change your truck's Rhythmic energy being released. Good luck with your truck.
  25. Good for you stand for your rights! Don't accept it back until it is fixed properly without it shaking. Thxs
