HID Headlight Bulbs / HID Projector Retrofit

I don't know what is going on with TRS and Morimoto kits, but I've had 2 ballast fail within three months. I ordered a spare ballast for the justin-case another ballast fails... and TRS sends me the wrong ballast. I didn't open the package until 2 months later because I didn't need it. When I went to install, is when I found out. I contacted TRS and asked them to pay for shipping because they messed up, I was told I need to cover shipping due to it being longer than 30 days. I don't remember the guys name, but he told me, "it's not that expensive to ship back to them". I understand its not that much money to return, but now its the principle. I didn't get what I ordered, your parts continue to fail, and now... customer service sucks. I told TRS, either cover the shipping or lose a customer. I guess they are going to cover the shipping now. But at this point, it's been about 2 weeks. I need recommendations for a new HID kit. I installed the FX-R kit- 3,363 replies

Thank you, I still have more to add, like 4.56 gears, front drive shaft and a diff cover for the new heavy duty gears. She's sluggish as all hell at the moment. I will eventually add a tune after all this, but will not do a DEF/DPF delete. Intake and exhaust pipe. I didn't like trucks until I saw these new GMCs. It was a game changer for me!

C'mon, you can't tell by the looks its a pavement princess! Its a Duramax Denali, I went through the mud once and sank using 4wd. Truck is way to heavy for mudding, but it looks beast and drives smoother.

I picked the car up in CA. I live in WA, though. http://www.europeancarweb.com/featuredcars/epcp_1110_bmw_g_power_sk_ii_clubsport_m3/photo_10.html The previous owner did all the work. I installed the suspension KW-V3 and the exhaust.- 3,363 replies

HID Headlight Bulbs / HID Projector Retrofit

I have the Morimoto with no issues with HD radio. I just got done making minor adjustments to the FX-R projectors and I was curious about the HD radio, everything works fine. There is three grounding points, but its not difficult to find grounding points. It took me all of 5 minutes to wire the harness with the capacitor. I'm pretty sure the amount of grounding points a HID kits have, does not have anything to do with the quality of the kit. I am a BMW enthusiast, where did you get the ballast from and how much? I wish our trucks had the auto leveling and turning like the BMW lights.- 3,363 replies

I got my headlights back from FastHeadLights. They did an outstanding job of adding the FX-R Stage III projectors and LEDs while maintaining the OEM look. I couldn't even tell that my headlights were taken apart. You can hardly notice the LED halo rings when there turned off. I did not have to level my headlight either. Lighting is 3 times better IMO at night. Very helpful fellas, they are.- 3,363 replies

I just called TRS and Andrew (I think I spoke with him), he stated that the Capacitor Link is better for your tuck than the Canbus. I just ordered the Capacitor Link. I'm pretty sure both methods will work. If someone can confirm this, that would help.- 3,363 replies

Why did you feel the need to modify your truck at all? The factory lights functioned just fine? I never stated I was trying to impress anyone. Your modified lights, you added to your truck are made in China, aka "domestic rice" as you put it. As a matter of fact, your truck was built in Mexico, is that even considered domestic? I could go down the list of things about what I don't get and what I don't like. Example: Adding a SC to a 6.2L pickup truck, why? Gas mileage goes down, engine was not designed for boosted psi. The engine is not going to last as long as it would of if you would of left it stock, it also ruined the warranty. But guess what, there's a market for guys that want to ruin their warranties and engines by adding a stupid SC. Now I'm no genius, how stupid is it to allow someone to use your truck as a guinea pig and to add SC. We've all heard that the first of anything always has bugs and usually ends up getting recalled with improvements. The point of a forum is to help and encourage growth of GM Truck enthusiast. Bottom line, I could give two turds about your thoughts or opinions on what I do to my truck. What I care about are those people who want to share the progress of their trucks or ideas, but won't because people like you will just ridicule them. I teach/train my kids and my personnel/peers to set the example, by leading by example.- 3,363 replies

Fast headlights LLC did my head lights. I went to there site and told them what I wanted. They are good guys and do quality work. They did the HID projector retrofit as well. You might be able to google the halo company and order them by size. I'm sure they know which halos fit per car/truck model because it's pretty popular in the mod if you want to do it install urself. I'll reach out to fastheadlights as well and let you know.- 3,363 replies

I am 35, 16 year Navy Chief! I like the look and my kids will love this. It's a parking lot mod, if I drive, I will either turn them off or use only the white color. Life is too short to be serious all the time.- 3,363 replies

They are located in Aurora NY. They have 9 guys in front of me, so I had to wait to send them out, in order for them to be able to get them out to me within a week. I sent my lights in early because I will be on vacation, so I'm expecting it to take about three weeks. I told them to take their time because I want them done right.- 3,363 replies
