  1. i got the letter a couple days ago. im curious where the t stat is and if the fix is a new t stat and new rad. no clue if mine has this issue or not... ill mention it at my next service.
  2. do you really have to do all that to put the lower spacer in?? i could have sworn back in 2014 guys were just unbolting the 2 lower shock bolts then putting in the spacer and bolting it back in.
  3. just the 2.5 RC front and rear lift/level. it will me it in the truck eventually....
  4. Part number please! and what was the price? i toyed with the idea of putting a aftermarket one in a couple yrs ago but the plan just faded away...much like my lift kit sitting in the box still..
  5. so if i read that right we should be 10-12% of the max tow rate of our trucks..so 800-1200 lbs i just needed to know i was over 600lbs, im good.
  6. ok that hitch should be able to do what i need if i go that route. im starting to look for a single motorcycle trailer with a wheelbase that will fit in the box of my truck...cant park trailers in our complex otherwise i would have a enclosed one. whats the shimmed gas pedal mod you did? edit - just found a thread on it. funny because i remember test driving a 2014 and thinking the pedal felt really lazy and that when i pushed the gas it felt like it has about a 1/2 inch of free play but when i got mine it didnt have that same feeling.
  7. anyone know what class the hitch is on the 14 SLE? i also need to find out what the tongue weight is. im looking at a hitch mounted motorcycle carrier that can hold up to 600 lbs, but the bikes only really weigh about 400 lbs wet.
  8. i always carry some basic tools, just bought a new tool box today that im going to put anchor points on and it will sit between my 2 bikes in the truck. its not for the truck...its for the boats and bikes. as for washer fluid....i always carry it. i may just put a ratchet strap around 1 under the hood and call it a day.
  9. ya i thought about those too, i just dont like that i have to drill in, and the other issue is i would loose tie down anchor points and i use my truck to move motorcycles a lot more than planned so i kinda need them. if i would have planned on moving bikes this much i would have gotten the standard box and not short, tailgate down!
  10. thanks, just noticed this. i could have sworn i read somewhere the aux battery tray was new for the 2014 1500's but i guess i was wrong.
  11. funny you should mention ammo case, earlier today i was just thinking about using one of my steel ammo boxes but that would only hold 1 bottle of washer fluid. im going to go to my gun shop next week to look at ammo boxes, im also going to go to a marina to look at boat battery boxes too. i think the marine battery box will be the winner.
  12. has anyone added a battery box where the spare battery location is? i want to find a big enough battery box that i can safely mount in there to be my roadside and washer fluid carry kit/location. i have no need to run a 2nd battery and this spot seems ideal. i coule ratchet straps, washer fluid, jumper cables..etc.. whatever your kit carries. thoughts? place to get a good box with a latch on it?
  13. its hard to get a shop that will test fit, they all want deposits on stuff around here and honestly dont blame them. im going to take some measurements as soon as i get around to installing my lift. ribs are finally healed so my only excuse is lack of indoor shop space and winter finally hitting. by the way things are going its going to be april when it gets done.
  14. in canada you just need some sort of DRL, which could be white or amber. no need for both. and around here, cops dont even bother anyone about DRL's, its more just when you need to get he safety inspections done when transferring ownership. ide love to disable the DRL that runs on my low beam..
  15. ive run a lot of HID's over the years, luckily my vehicles never needed the harnesses as my DRLs were always wired to a different bulb. but every other kit ive put in that needed the relay harness has had issues. ive used DDM, Doop, VVME, some ebay ones... and i dont even know what else. i just bought VVME for my sierra, with the harness and im going to give it a go, but what i really want to do is figure out how to get the ecu/bcm changed to run 12v for DRL's. in a couple months im going to talk to the dealership shop foreman. there has got to be a way to do it.
