  1. Got my wheels and tires on it finally... Still waiting on light bar for the front to arrive.
  2. Installed bug guard yesterday, present from my wife.
  3. Went to the tire shop to get my new wheels and tires put on... then drove home with them in the back of my truck cause one of the tires was damaged. Get the start the wait all over again. On the plus side the tire shop put 2 on so I could see it. They fit and look great.
  4. Hmm... did not know there was a term. I figured all that stuff out on my own. I was thinking about pulsing yesterday. I kinda figured that you could speed up and cost and get better millage then just going one speed. Again no idea there were terms. i have just been playing with my last few cars to get better millage when gas was $4 a gallon.
  5. cruise lowers my millage slightly. I have decided it is cause it slows the truck down when going down an incline. If I am driving I let the truck roll and get better numbers. If you not in town, you might not have much traffic. I have found that if I triple my normal stopping distance when coming up to the light, I can make up any lost fuel millage when taking off. I let the truck start coasting as soon as the light is in sight, when no one is behind me. This gives me about the same distance at 99 mpg as I get 6 mpg when taking off. Thus not effecting my average. Yes... this is going to an extreme and I wont do it all the time. But its kinda like a game at the moment. Remember, I have had my truck about 15 days. But I have 1800 miles on it.
  6. I wont keep doing it, just wanted a good base line to compare each mod. For those who talk about coasting or downhill. I use a round trip. I get better millage at 67 then 45. I have not found a perfect spot in a 55 mph zone. Have not driven many of those. For a quick test it is 15 miles one way, I check average there and back. For long test it is 65 miles one way. I average there and back. I am not picking all down hill. My 2010 got 14 mpg and it drove my nuts. I want to be darn sure I know what causes this truck to get bad millage if it happens. I think a lot of people are missing that I am a 2 door. I'm sure the lighter weight has some effect.
  7. to get the 23.8 on flat ground at 67 miles per hour I fixed the gas pedal flex and am incredible light on the pedal. it is extremely difficult. The cruse only gets 21. I have to manually control it, letting the truck roll down inclines so it can get up the next small incline without pressing on the gas more. Its like a game, I watch the mileage the entire time. If I don't, it drops quickly. My wife thinks I am nuts watching it that closely. She drove the truck less then 5 miles and dropped my average down to 12. Took me two days to get it back up. These trucks will drink the fuel if you let them. 68 it will drop, 64 it will drop. My truck has to be at 67 mph to get it. at 32 mph I can get 28 on flat level ground.
  8. My ebay $50 bed mat arrived yesterday, so I got that installed. Also added a cargo bar to keep stuff close to the tail gate since I added the bed cover. I think my wheels arrived yesterday but I wasn't home and missed the fedex guy.
  9. Did you keep that valve thing?
  10. Im leaning toward Diablo, but I am a fan towards a real dyno tune. Never bought a canned tune. Issue with a real tune on a truck this new is we cannot take it out if the dealer needs to adjust something.
  11. I miss the days when you just bought 33 or 35 12.50 15 in a BFG Mud or AT and gas was 97 cents a gallon. It was so much easier. Took me a week to pick a tire based on width, weight, winter traction, tire life, looks and 50 other things. And I still don't know if I will like the looks.
  12. The is the occasional chip factory paint and chromed plastic can get. And there is all the pain falling off like you see when someone spay paints a chrome bumper. I have seen Camaro's and Firebird's where if you touch the rubber bumpers the paint falls off. Everyone expects a rock to chip the paint. No one expects for a fly to knock a 6 inch chink of paint off. I meant that kind of extreme chipping. I never said it would chip, I said I hope it doesn't.
  13. Sure looks mean. I hope it sticks well. I would be afraid of it chipping. I would have to see the truck in person and let it sink in to decide if I wanted mine that blacked out. But it looks very well done and looks really tough.
  14. Two batteries is not a new thing. I would get the kit just so one does not drain the other. However it wont effect the ECU at all. Talk to anyone into hydraulics or look at any semi. Guys have been running dual batteries for as long as batteries have been made. Stereo guys do it as well. Red neck way to stop head lights from flashing.
  15. Tire shop I asked must have been wrong. I know they said a 33x12.50x18 was 78 lbs. That is way to heavy for me. I did not look them up on my own.
  16. I would go between 4 and 0, depending on your use.
  17. no... not if you do red to red and black to black. Red to black, black to ground will make 24 volts. Google: Series and Parallel wiring.
  18. that truck has a lot more then a 2" level on it. That is a sick looking truck. Love it and I don't like the blacked out look, typically.
  19. it is very easy... you really need two wires and a battery. The kit is just a nicer better way to go.
  20. What dealership is doing that for $200. Your off a 0. Aftermarket is $900 to $1800 and the Dealership will out source it for even more. If you find a dealership within 24 hours drive of Colorado that will do it for under $500 I am on my way.
  21. I just washed my truck and the bed staid dry. There is a rubber seal all the way around. I can see some water getting in the corners in a very bad storm but i feel stuff will stay very dry. $200 seemed cheep to me.
  22. this is why i wanted a working navigation system. So I had no need to ever touch my phone.
