  1. Now it looks like everyone else's "black out everything" truck. IMO, looks great as is....I would leave every bit of that chrome on there.
  2. We are going to need a lot more than that! You can tell the rim is not wide enough for the tire by the sidewall bulge, but other than that, how are your clearances? I'm really interested on the actual sizes of that tire mounted on a stocker rim...height, tread width, overall width? You gotta be real close on your UCAs and swaybar when turning, no?
  3. Bravo! IMO best looking truck ever posted on this forum (and there are some sweet trucks on here) like that red one above. But those stocker 20 chrome spider webs win! It looks like a stock truck on steroids...just the way I like them. No debadging, dechroming, expensive rims, or other nonsensical "mods"...just height and big rubber. Well done...I'm jelly!
  4. I've been running 275/65r18 Nittos G2s on stockers and 2.5 level for 3 years....it's just mehhhh to me. Barely any bigger than the stock 265s. MPG is 17.5 to 18 (non towing). IMO the 285/65 is perfect size for a level. I might even go 285/70 Nitto RGs when these wear out. Depends on if I take the plunge and put a CST 4.5 on it or not. Would like to get my suspension travel back.
  5. Yes. Looks odd to me being so tall and narrow.
  6. A Google search will reveal many sites where people are complaining about the condensers and getting no relief. You definitely did well as most people have been paying 100% of the repair out of their pocket (when they can find a part). If my truck had 114K miles, I'm not sure I would have pursued any reimbursement. My dealer offered 10% off the repair initially and eventually agreed to 50% after I contacted GM's executive office--I still haven't received the check though.
  7. Then you will be driving for a long time without A/C. Unless you have a super generous dealer, you are going to pay some if not all of the condenser change if it happens to your truck out of warranty. I'm not saying it's right but out of warranty is out of warranty.....that's why it's 3 year / 36,000.
  8. Did you mean 285/65r18 as those look bigger than 265/65? And Duratracs are much more aggressive than KO2s. 285/65r18 and 285/70r17 aren't big enough size difference to be worth buying new 17" rims...both are going to fit fine with a 1.5 or 2" level.
  9. Great informative post! Good to know that 1.25 spacers work as everything else I have read says 1.75 if no pockets, 1.5 with pockets.
  10. You done that right, son! Looks perfect. More pictures and details of the lift, install, spacers, etc...
  11. I put my P3 right where my right knee would hit if I slide the seat all the way forward. The metal bracing behind the plastic trim is tricky with a bunch of angles that made drilling into the metal a little dicey. Felt horrible drilling 2 holes in my new truck, but once mounted, I don't even realize it's there except when I need it. I have never knocked it off with my knee. Easy reach for operating the manual slide for checking your trailer brakes too. Drilling the holes took the longest as I bought the plug and play harness. Good luck getting that electrical box cover off by your right foot to plug in the controller!!
  12. Update: I went online and chatted about my condenser with a GM rep. Also sent an email to the CEO (Mary Barra). Got assigned a Reference # online and got a return email and phone call from Mary Barra's office. An assistant worked my case for the past 2 weeks always calling to give me an update every 48hrs. Got my final verdict this week...they offered to refund me half of the repair charge. I don't know if the amount was negotiable but I did accept the offer so GM will be sending me a check for $520. They said the battery was only warrantied for a year, so it was not considered. Assistant said each case was different and that what I read online about someone getting coverage is not really relevant to my case. I will say that my a/c is colder than I remember it being. I was driving every day with it on LO and rarely did it ever get too cold. Now, I have to bump it up to 70 or else I get too cold....and it's still 90 here in FL. So, I'm less pissed than when I wrote my first post. Still love this truck and think it's one of the best looking trucks out there.
  13. I'm with you...my ownership hasn't been smooth. Original tires had flat spots, complete steering system had to be replaced, multiple recalls, and now the A/C system and battery. The only one that really bothers me is the condenser since everything else was under warranty and my dealer always gave me a loaner truck to drive. Going forward, I will continue to take care of this truck, but when it hits its 10 year birthday, I think I'm going to Toyota. No vehicles are perfect, but the boys at work driving Tundras seem to never have issues.
  14. Nope, it's a sealed system and has nothing to do with the external temperature. The condenser is flawed and develops leaks over time....just a matter of time before it happens unless you have the newer ones that fixed the design flaw. Some people get 60K miles out of it, some get 100K miles, I got 38K miles. My condenser was a 100% replacement and has the silver square area like shown up a few posts. I know they didn't patch mine, so maybe the new design is to strengthen the corner?
  15. Photobucket blanked out all your pictures! Any update on the 305/65r18s? Wearing good? Any off-road condition problems with rubbing?
  16. That looks real good for a 275/70r18! What's your offset and how is the front/rear look? Wondering how wide those 275s look.
  17. Had mine changed today after my a/c started blowing warm on the drive home from work on Tuesday 38,300 miles and 2 years 11 months after I bought the truck--no extended warranty. Dealer had condenser in stock and the service advisor said, "yeah we been changing a lot of them". Also, my battery was dying, so I had that replaced too. $1080 + tax to have the condenser changed (they gave me 10% off) $175 to change the battery (again 10% off) I had them do the #PIT5331 bracket also. They charged me the $6 for the part, but put it on for "free". Was as pissed as all of y'all are about it, but I paid $13K less for my Sierra Z71 than I could have got a Tundra for, so I guess I'm money ahead (until the next big thing breaks).
  18. Bad assumption. With a level, you can fit 33x11 as long as you stay 0 to stock offset. That's it...no magic makes it any better. Anything bigger is going to hit something when in a parking lot.....and even worse if you are ever in an off-angle situation. -44 All bets are off. Very few people running bro-dozer offset like that so you will have very little data to go on. Even 4.5 lifts recommend no larger than 33x12.5 because they know you will want your truck to go more than just straight.
  19. Need some better pictures. And a review after you have run that kit awhile.
  20. Either should fit fine on a stock trucks with stock rims. If you level 2" or more, both should clear with no problem. I say "should" because those are popular sizes and many people on this forum are running them without issue. At worst, the 285s might hit your UCA, but it won't be bad.
  21. I've got stock cast UCAs, but from what I see on here, Cognitos allow the same as stock cast, or maybe interfere a little more than stock cast with inner sidewall rubbing. Seems like the aluminum and stamped steel are a little wider and don't allow as wide a tire as cast.
  22. We would all like to believe you, but you would be the first ever to do that with a leveled truck. As a minimum, you are hitting the swaybar at full lock and most likely the UCAs too. Your liner is going to get wrecked too when you go over a bump at full lock.
  23. Everyone that has 12" wide tires on stock or close to stock offset has UCA and Swaybar rub at full lock whether they know it, or admit it. To check, you have to have someone hold the steering wheel against the left and right stops...the steering wheel won't stay at lock without someone holding it there.
  24. Need a 4" kit for that size.
  25. That's a great looking ride. Good score.
