  1. I bought an old, 1991 Jayco 1006 popup trailer the other night, drove it home 70 miles in the dark. All the lights worked miraculously. It has a metal round 6 way trailer lights plug. I used an adapter to the large plug on my Sierra. As i started driving home, I would get a DING DING DING "trailer attached", "check trailer wiring" all the way home, every 30 seconds or so. Very annoying. It didnt tell me I had a trailer attached or to check the wiring for the last 20 miles or so. The wierd thing is, the trailer lights didnt flicker like there was a bad connection or anything. The trailer does have a place for an onboard car battery. No battery there. I am trying to decide if I need to convert the trailer to the large round plug to prevent the DINGs all the way to the campsite. Any ideas? I have towed my small 5x8 utility, a large 8x12 utility and a horse trailer with no issues or messages.
  2. The chatter noise is the direct injection. That metallic clank sound is probably something in the belts. It sounds like it happens once per revolution of the accessory drive system.
  3. My father in law's 14' sierra was stuck in 4hi after Christmas 2015. He drove home to California from Colorado in 4hi. Dealer in Cali did the transfer case tsb and fixed it. Dealer said fluid was fine, no issues....... So i think you will be ok.
  4. My 17' 5.3 8 speed is working great at 6000 miles. It has an occasional wierd clunk between 1-5 mph when turning. Otherwise it is great.
  5. Others in here have had their ring and pinions replaced with success. Someone get on this. You will be a hero.
  6. WTH is a melt sheet....?
  7. Just got back from a short road trip yesterday. 4 hours to Denver, stayed a few days and 4 hours home. She shook all the way at 70 mph. Sometimes the poor condition of our Colorado roads would mask it but in the southeast corner of Denver Metro the roads are pretty good. Funny thing, set the cruise at 69 and its pretty good, bump it up to 70 and she's a mess. Pass a car up to 80 and its really bad. I guess im getting old but 69 in a 65 is ok for me. It would be nice to move the shakes up to 80 though. Love the truck though. Still one of the best looking trucks on the road. I'm seeing more and more 2016-17 Silverado LTZ's with paint matched grilles. They are growing on me. My wife didnt mention the shakes this trip, she must be getting used to it or doesnt want to engage my car problem OCD. Knowing it might end up with a whole day at a dodge dealer. She did mention how much better this new truck rides over big bumps and overall compared to my GMT800 CCSB. That thing was a wet noodle.
  8. Got the truck back today. The dealer tech said they replaced the fuel pressure sensor on the fuel rail under the intake manifold. He said they had the scanner run the pressure way up to "test" the system and its working fine now..... fingers crossed
  9. Ok, thanks alot for the info. So it sounds like my dealer tech is on the right track with my issue?
  10. I cannot open the 2017 specific pi you referenced
  11. Thank you How long ago was that? Any issues since?
  12. Did they just replace the pump on the first visit? Or did they replace the pressure switch first?
  13. Driving home from town today, slowing for a left turn, light throttle, truck dinged and had no power. Would not go over 25 mph or so. Little to no power. All gauges ok. CEL on. Just short of 5000 miles, 2017 CC 5.3. SLT. Took it to the dealer. Waited 2 hours. Tech plugged it in and told me the fuel pressure regulator was reading too high. He cleared the code and drove me home in my truck. He called me later and said there was a "PI" from GM about this. It needs a fuel pressure switch but probably a new pump. He said they will put a switch in and if it does it again a new pump. http://gm.oemdtc.com/tag/p228d Im thinking both would make me feel better about driving my new truck out of town. I joked to him, "Well the fuel pumps used to last 150,000 miles in my old trucks. I guess 5,000 miles is the new standard." He was silent....
  14. I pay the extra $10 per month to tether the truck to my att data plan. Im just not interested in using onstar for anything.
  15. Do I have to pay for onstar to use the wifi? My onstar free trial just ended and my wifi doesnt seem to work anymore. I have it tethered to my ATT account.
  16. I have alot of up and down movement of the bottom cushion. It rubs on the plastic trim as I drive over bumps. It makes a creak/ rub sound that I can feel. It is worse around the lane departure sensors in the driver seat. I can also feel it in the passenger seat if I push down on the bottom cushion. Will the hose clamp thing fix this? Or is this another poor design flaw that the dealer will dismiss?
  17. And where is the GM customer car rep on these forums?
  18. Mine does....
  19. I do feel it slightly in the steering wheel but it is not a side to side shake like when you lose a wheel weight it is more front to back like its in the frame.
  20. Yup, I felt it with stock tires and with duratracs. Dealer says its the duratracs. Not sure what to do.......
  21. Np, I feel it in the seat cushion and seatback. My wife felt it too so I know its bad.
  22. Funny, I was told by the dealer that I would have to pay them to balance my duratracs before they would move on to pooming at the driveshaft. I asked for a road force balance and they didnt know what that was.....
  23. Southeast Colorado.... im thinking Denver or Grand Junction
  24. I thought about that but this is a really small dealer. I dont think they have sold any midnights or all terrain X's yet. Either way they are wrong! These duratracs are the smoothest, quietest a/t's ive ever owned!
  25. What did it costvto have it balanced? Where did you have it done?
