Aftermarket backup sensors and light bar controller. I replaced the original with one that didn't have the cubby and custom cut it to fit the switches.

TRS already replaced the passenger side. This is the driver's side now. I don't expect them to keep replacing relays every 2 years, but maybe the first pair was just a bad batch. They seem great about standing behind their product, though. I'm fairly certain it's not a moisture issue. My relays are mounted at the spare battery tray location. I'm thinking it may be more heat-related. I have noticed the entire engine bay gets warmer than most vehicles I've owned.

I have a '14 Sierra with the TRS Morimoto HID kit. I'm starting to have relay failures. Any ideas how to prevent these failures or a better relay than the TRS supplied units? Thanks in advance.

I wonder if I can speed up my condenser's failure to get my '14 covered under warranty? I bought mine new off the lot in '15, so I have some time and miles left

That's a very good location for the aux switches. Great idea for those, like us, that don't have the center console.

That would be tougher. You might be able to tie into the brake lights to activate them, but it would also be nice to have an output from the truck when speed drops below 5 or 10 mph.

I went with these sensors. They look nearly identical to the factory ones. I only wanted the audible alarm. Several come with a distance gauge, too. All these kits come with a hole saw. I have the speaker attached to the support of the rear seat. Wiring is under the carpet. There's a relay under the dash so the alarm only works when the ignition is on. I didn't like it beeping at me when I walked behind the truck after unlocking it. The reverse lights some on with the courtesy lights. I wired through the firewall. It was a bugger to get through, but I like the cleanliness. I also purchased the trailer brake switch plate to go over the light and 4x4 control knobs, then added two toggle switches from OTRATTW similar to what's in this thread: http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/171351-accessory-switches-in-upper-left-cubbypocket/?p=1604103 I was able to get the backlight powered from the unused factory plug intended for the factory-installed trailer brake. It even works with the dimmer.

Is the output for the #18 pin for the hi beams a normally closed circuit? I was working on my light bar and put the voltmeter on this pin and read +12v with the low beams, and 0v with the high beam lever activated.

Did you ever get it working with the high beams?

That's actually what I'm looking for. The HID upgrade gives me very good front coverage. I need a little more of the shoulders on some of these back country roads. EasyEMan - that looks good. Did you weld your homemade brackets to the radiator support?

What's unique about your friend's neighborhood entrance? Is the turn tighter in one direction than other turns? Is there a large bump? Take a service tech on a ride-along.
