  1. I have no tint and have the same problem. Been dealing with it for 3 years. I have Morimoto HID headlights from TRS, but that doesn't help much. The fogs help some. But I, too, would like more light; particularly right turns. The entrance to my neighborhood is slightly higher than 90deg and I'm just hoping for the best when I turn in at night. Just poking around the Internet it seems several other folks of different makes/models have gone the route of the Ford relay. Chevy supposedly has a relay used in older model Tahoes, too, but I haven't found that p/n.
  2. Aftermarket backup sensors and light bar controller. I replaced the original with one that didn't have the cubby and custom cut it to fit the switches.
  3. TRS already replaced the passenger side. This is the driver's side now. I don't expect them to keep replacing relays every 2 years, but maybe the first pair was just a bad batch. They seem great about standing behind their product, though. I'm fairly certain it's not a moisture issue. My relays are mounted at the spare battery tray location. I'm thinking it may be more heat-related. I have noticed the entire engine bay gets warmer than most vehicles I've owned.
  4. I have a '14 Sierra with the TRS Morimoto HID kit. I'm starting to have relay failures. Any ideas how to prevent these failures or a better relay than the TRS supplied units? Thanks in advance.
  5. I wonder if I can speed up my condenser's failure to get my '14 covered under warranty? I bought mine new off the lot in '15, so I have some time and miles left
  6. That's a very good location for the aux switches. Great idea for those, like us, that don't have the center console.
  7. That would be tougher. You might be able to tie into the brake lights to activate them, but it would also be nice to have an output from the truck when speed drops below 5 or 10 mph.
  8. I went with these sensors. They look nearly identical to the factory ones. I only wanted the audible alarm. Several come with a distance gauge, too. All these kits come with a hole saw. I have the speaker attached to the support of the rear seat. Wiring is under the carpet. There's a relay under the dash so the alarm only works when the ignition is on. I didn't like it beeping at me when I walked behind the truck after unlocking it. The reverse lights some on with the courtesy lights. The sensors' controller is tapped into the reverse power and ground wires behind the left tail light assembly. http://www.ebay.com/itm/US-4-Silver-Parking-Sensors-Car-Backup-Reverse-Radar-Buzzer-Alarm-Assistant-Kits-/142329141255?hash=item21237a5807:g:~Q4AAOSwtfhYrqQm Sensor wires ran to the tail light area: Controller mounted with 3M d/s tape:
  9. Finally finished up my light bar and $20 eBay backup sensors.
  10. double post. opps.
  11. I wired through the firewall. It was a bugger to get through, but I like the cleanliness. I also purchased the trailer brake switch plate to go over the light and 4x4 control knobs, then added two toggle switches from OTRATTW similar to what's in this thread: http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/171351-accessory-switches-in-upper-left-cubbypocket/?p=1604103 I was able to get the backlight powered from the unused factory plug intended for the factory-installed trailer brake. It even works with the dimmer.
  12. Is the output for the #18 pin for the hi beams a normally closed circuit? I was working on my light bar and put the voltmeter on this pin and read +12v with the low beams, and 0v with the high beam lever activated.
  13. Did you ever get it working with the high beams?
  14. That's actually what I'm looking for. The HID upgrade gives me very good front coverage. I need a little more of the shoulders on some of these back country roads. EasyEMan - that looks good. Did you weld your homemade brackets to the radiator support?
  15. Do you have a close-up shot of your mount? I'm slowly working on the same. Last parts came in yesterday, but rain this weekend will probably push me out another week. Thanks in advance.
  16. What's unique about your friend's neighborhood entrance? Is the turn tighter in one direction than other turns? Is there a large bump? Take a service tech on a ride-along.
  17. I haven't had any problems with the TRS kit. I've been running them for about a year now. I can't remember the exact wiring, but it sounds like something isn't right with yours. Double check the harness.
  18. Since you're not really running the fogs for improved night driving, I would recommend some LED bulbs. I did a simple swap to JDM Astar bulbs primarily for color match to my HIDs. I never have to run the fogs now as the HIDs provide great lighting.
  19. I just pulled the system off this weekend to verify that it's the can causing the issue. I saw somewhere about some early production trucks with leaking injectors, so I wanted to verify that wasn't the case. While it's off I'm going to re-seal all the fittings. I've also asked Elite Engineering for suggestions. Some reports were of cheap hoses allowing fumes to seep through. I just used what Elite sent with the system.
  20. Anyone get a strong gas odor outside the vehicle after installing a catch can?
  21. My first guess would be to check the grounds. I developed a loud buzzing on a very humid evening here in SC. I opened up the hood and began reworking my ground at the radiator support. So far no problems.
  22. I did the same as abominable on my 2014 Sierra. Just TRS's Sierra Spec kit worked wonders. I drove my wife's 2009 Acadia this weekend and hated the headlights on it. It's dual projectors with halogens and they SUCK now compared to my truck. I thought they were way better before the upgrade. I might upgrade her Acadia, except that it's relatively old and has plenty of interior rattles to make me want to drive it off a cliff.
  23. Here you go. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  24. I went with the capacitor link on my 2014 SLT. No problems so far. I've been running them for 3-4 months. The color I chose was the 5500k. It's not an exact match to the LED DRLs, but pretty close. I think the angle you look at the lights with the stock projector changes the perceived color somewhat. It's more blue at that cutoff and white down below.
  25. See if you can grab a photo. I'd like to see some options as well!
