  1. 40 years ago I used the "quarter" washes before moving to Florida. Now back in Michigan, I can't handle the cold plus there don't seem to be many well maintained diy's locally. Touch less? I've never seen a car come out of one actually clean. The drive thru I use starts with 2 employees hitting the truck with pressure wands, then once moving the truck is lathered with soap then once done and thru the last drying flappers and air, another employee hand dries the drips. $29/mo is money well spent for unlimited washes. Plus a couple of bucks tip to the kid drying at the end. April I'll spend a day with the Porter Cable and get the paint spiffed up for the spring.
  2. Nice introduction post.... My hybrid F150 would stop and start multiple times just driving.... My Ram also had stop/start as well most vehicles built now. You might want a little more patience at "busy intersections" if a slight hesitation puts you and the oncoming vehicles in a dangerous situation you probably shouldn't be pulling out.
  3. That's all it's good for, I guess. Living in the north now and having to use auto washes for 5 months, I'm not going to carry a 10mm open end and get out and take off the antenna and then reinstall it 2 or 3 times a week.
  4. I have 3 years of connected service (Onstar + wifi +) that came with my truck. If you want to be able to use Super Cruise, you need it. I doubt I will own the truck beyond the 3 years I got (paid for in the original base price). But if I do, I'll continue to pay for it.
  5. I'm thinking they're keepers.
  6. So GMC puts a giant radio antenna on the truck like Ford. I ordered a shorty from American Trucks and it arrived this week. No good. It wouldn't fit the stud. Decided to just make my own. I cut down the OEM antenna to about 9". I heated the ball on the top and used vicegrips to pull it off. I needed to grind the shorty down in order for the ball to fit. A dab of Gorilla Glue and took a hammer to tighten it down. A quick hit with black paint and done. Total time was about 15 minutes. Let the paint dry and glue set up for a couple hours indoors and that was it. Local FM is fine.
  7. I've had a 2019 Ram Limited 4X4 then a 2021 F150 Platinum 4X4 and now a 2023 Denali Ultimate 4X4. The Ram had the best ride with the air suspension. The F150 had the worst (I think the light weight contributed). And the Denali is pretty close to the Ram. I have magnetic ride and it rides really smoothly even with the 22's.
  8. Not enough time with mine yet but I've owned 2 King Ranch Fords and the leather didn't stay perfect. I look at some leather variation as character. If it bugs you, it's worth a trip by the dealership. I suspect you could get it warrantied.
  9. American Truck has domed. Your Chevrolet looks good. To me, it just looks unfinished without something there. I'm thinking either red or liquid chrome. Most likely red.
  10. Ford F150 hasn't had a print manual since 2020.
  11. I see there are a number of places to buy adhesive GMC letters for the bedrails. Any thoughts? Personal experience? Domed? Plain vinyl? I'm thinking red on the black truck.
  12. No "leather" folder with mine. Not sure it's included in 2023's
  13. Yes, you should have received one (462 pages) . Go back to the dealer and have them get it for you.
  14. It's now home. Wish the weather was cooperating. I'll spend the next couple of days going through settings, infotainment personalizing. I'd add some additional pics but this site won't take my Samsung S22 Ultra pictures indicating file too large. Really???
  15. Personally I would go with genuine manufacturer warranties regardless. Aftermarket warranties may or may not be honored.
  16. I'm just hoping to take delivery today.
  17. So, it'll happen Thursday or Friday depending on the weather and if the tonneau shows up. This is all I have for now. Exhaust is on and sounds good. Obviously not cleaned yet. It makes the F150 look small.
  18. I don't have to have the Super Cruise but I feel it might be a must have at time of trade in down the road. The CarbonPro box is only $115. No brainer in my opinion. I'm coming from 3 trucks that had the pano-roof. I rarely opened the shade fully and 2 had rattles. None leaked though. I agree with the painted arches. I'm not the person to review sound systems. My hearing is mostly shot now
  19. So the truck arrived at the dealership today and it has everything functioning except the steering column lock which I really don't care about. So I'll be experiencing this gm dfm stuff.
  20. Except for my garage, I always back into parking spaces. Way easier for the front end swing out in the open. Backing out of a parking spot is just plain dangerous.
  21. My order arrived at the dealership this morning. Hopefully I'll be driving it by Friday. They have to install the performance exhaust and get the REV tonneau in for the CarbonPro box. Kind of stoked.
  22. I don't have a camera solution but I've used cinder blocks as tire stops in garages that were tight long before cams were invented.
