I didn't have to buy the camera separate for the trailer as the new truck had one with the housing, cable, etc. I just popped the housing open, took the camera out and put it in the old housing so I didnt have to rewire, etc. I swear I did find the 2024 camera separately and purchase it but I can't find it in my eBay history so I will search my email history to see if I did it through GM Parts or something. I have a couple of cameras in my extra parts box but I lost track of where they were from since I have the extra 2020 one as well as one from my Dad's 2023 Escalade. It's not the time of year I do any unnecessary truck or trailer work here in AZ! I'll update if I find the invoice.

I'm pretty sure it won't work. I had a 2020 GMC Sierra HD AT4 and bought a 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4. I set up my enclosed trailer in the GMC app, connected the tire pressure sensors (old ones worked fine) and plugged in the camera. The camera did not work with the 2024. The new truck came with the trailer camera so I opened the old housing, removed the camera and replaced it with the one from the new truck. The camera does work now... I'm guessing they changed something with the resolution / video encoding between 2020 and 2024. Either that or my 2020 camera just happened to malfunction when I bought a new truck... Good Luck!

Well I would keep an eye on the lot of my favorite dealer in case a 3500 SRW Duramax with all the features you want becomes available. But... if you don't see anything that is a great deal or has every feature you want wait until you get the 5th wheel, tow it behind your current rig and see how you feel. Make sure to hook it up on windy days, take it up a few hills (I do see you're in Texas so no big climbs nearby but plenty of wind!) and make up your mind. It's good that you have the gas truck first so you don't have to guess how well it will pull the trailer. You may also want to do some mileage checks to see how far a tank of gas will take you pulling the new trailer. You will get farther with the diesel if you go places where range between stops is an issue like boondock camping.

Well the running board lights came in (again), the parts manager called me and I was able to set an appointment for yesterday Mar 13. The light is working again. It was a long frustrating process but at least it works now. The invoice shows: 84825839 LAMP Good Luck to those of you that are still waiting for the part and solution.

Well I just hung up the phone with the parts manager at the dealership. He returned the running board lights last month because the service department didn't schedule the appointment and put it on the truck. I had called service several times but they kept saying they were waiting for the part. He reordered it today and will call me when it arrives so I can let the service department know...

I did it with my 2020 HD AT4 and I thought the difficult part was getting the power wire through the nipple above the accelerator pedal. Since you don't have to worry about putting the switch pad in the dash the rest of the process is the same as the 2020-2023. This thread should get you there... Good Luck!

I have a 24 AT4 with the same dash layout as the ultimates… I installed a Garmin Powerswitch in the engine compartment instead of waiting for the upfitter switches. It’s expensive but if you download the app you can switch the powerswitch from your dash with Apple or Android carplay… Another plus is the wires are out of the passenger compartment if you’re switching external lighting / accessories.

Well they ordered parts for mine a couple of months ago and I’m still waiting for them to arrive. Meanwhile, the passenger side continues to work well and nothing happening on the driver’s side…

I have the Milwaukee M18, a ViaAir 300 and an ARB CKMTP12 (twin motor portable compressor). After purchasing the Milwaukee one I left the ViaAir in my RZR and leave the ARB in my car hauler. It works well and as a second recommendation buy the Milwaukee M18 1/2 impact wrench. If you do get a flat it makes quick work of the lug nuts.

Great. It's good to see that they work for someone! Mine deploy and retract fine, just don't light up. It was just peculiar on the other forum when there are other people saying they have the same problem but no one saying theirs work.

On the AT4 forum someone mentioned the driver’s side LED lights on their factory running boards were not working (2024 Sierra HD AT4). I checked mine and the driver’s side running board lights do not work but the passenger side lights work. A few other people noticed the same thing, some had taken their’s to the dealer (including me) and although one person has had the module changed no one has said the driver’s side LED lights are working. I’m wondering if it is a software problem and not a problem with the lighting module or the LED light strip in the driver’s side running board. Does anyone here have a 2024 HD with a driver’s side running board light that works? Thanks, George

My 2024 GMC AT4 3500 does have the textured paint by the rocker panels.

I have a solid aluminum weigh safe that I keep in the truck, it has the 2.5 inch shank and I use it for towing stuff a few miles. If I'm towing a longer distance I like to use my shocker hitch. www.shockerhitch.com I have a heavy duty model with a 2.5 inch shank. There are 8 speed bumps between my house and the nearest main road and it really helps taking the shock out of hitting a sharp edge bump. My trailers are all bumper pull so I haven't tried their gooseneck model. I think the 20k model is around $700. Good Luck

If you buy part # 84669070 it comes with the fuses that connect to the bus as well as the fasteners that are fit for the 2nd battery tray. Makes it easy to connect high amperage cables.

The fusebox for the upfitter switches should be installed just above the driver's side knee panel. Poke your head under the dashboard and it's pretty much in line with the brake pedal, a small rectangular plastic box. The output wires are pretty short but you will find them there. Read the bulletin and there is a way to make the outputs always available or only when the ignition key is on. I didn't take any pictures with my 2020 so none to share with you. One of the switches is wired to work with a light for snowplowing / towing /etc. It runs up near the center mounted third brake light. Good Luck!

The RubiGrid doesn't fit the AT4 / Denali stacked dash so back to the drawing board for me... Good Luck finding a D710. I found one a couple of years ago that a local had won in a hamfest and didn't want to invest the time to learn how to operate. I wouldn't pay over MRSP for a radio that may be replaced soon. I have a pretty good Kenwood collection, TS480 (200 W), TS890, D710 and the D74 HT. George / W7GES

Kerry, I added the upfitter switches to my 2020 GMC 2500 HD AT4. It was fairly painless. I used a utility knife and cut the hole in the lower dash panel for the switches, added the wiring circuit and the fuse box and pulled the wire across the engine bay and through the firewall. I didn't like where the buttons were though. Hard to see when they were on and off and hard to identify which one to push. With the 2024 AT4 / Denali dash I'm still not clear where the switches will end up. The Garmin Powerswitch was on sale so I picked one up. I did use the upfitter / snowplow passenger battery fuse kit to hook the Powerswitch to the battery so there is a fuse in addition to the Garmin solid state ones. I really like your underhood lights idea also. I also agree there should be more interior lighting. Maybe most of the design folks are young and still have great eyesight with low light levels. I have found I need more light to do most tasks (can't read the menu without my cell phone light at a lot of fancy restaurants any more either)! Hopefully the weather cools down here and I can start working on my truck soon. Good luck with whatever route you wind up taking. Maybe using the Powerswitch for accessories outside the cab and the upfitter switches for interior ones will be a solution that requires less wiring through the firewall.

I see your point about the comms battery. Here in AZ vehicle batteries usually last 2 years or so. A far cry from WI where they lasted a lot longer. On the other hand I've never had to replace an exhaust since moving here. I need to stay off these forums. Now I'll be ordering that RubiGrid after I get home these afternoon. Good Luck finding another Kenwood mobile. I'm hoping they come out with a replacement but the new HT hasn't shown up anywhere yet either.

Thanks, it’s not necessary. I was toying with the idea of the custom lettered replacement ones but I have a lot of other items to do first!

2. You will need a Banks iDash or similar to get the turbo boost, they are coming out with a mount that attaches to the A-pillar mounting bolt. I kept the iDash from my 2020 Sierra 2500 Diesel. I also displayed DPF soot level %, Regents status, post DPF exhaust temp, as well as Turbo boost. I will install it in my 2024 GMC 3500 AT4 after the mount is in production and I receive one. Honestly, I don’t look at the speedo or tach anymore. Having the speed on the heads up display made the dash speedometer irrelevant for me. I do like the option of having the truck TPMS display on the left side of the dash as well as the Trailer TPMS on the infotainment screen far right screen. Good luck with your decision.

Why do you want a third battery for your VHF / UHF rig? My 2016 and 2020 Diesels never had a problem with an Icom 5100 or a Kenwood TH-710G hooked up to the passenger side battery. I just bought my 24 3500 L5P a few weeks ago and I’m waiting for a little cooler weather to install a VHF / UHF rig. If you’re worried about the rig drawing down your batteries when the truck is off I would get a West Mountain Radio ISOPwr+ and a 10-20ah lifepo4 battery. I have this setup in a battery box so I can take it anywhere. I mount the radio under the back seat and the control head on the dash. The 24 dash doesn’t have the tray in the middle of the dash so I’ll need to come up with something different. George / W7GES

I have a CTEK 250SE DC to DC charger in my Featherlite Enclosed Car hauler. I also have 400 watts of solar and a 200ah lifepo4 battery. The DC input from the truck 7pin would be used to keep the battery charged if the solar panels aren't supplying enough current. I haven't used the trailer for any long trips with my 2024 GMC but I didn't have any brake controller messages while setting up the invisible trailer camera / TPMS sensors.

There is another thread on this forum that mentions the 2024 isn't compatible with the 2020-2023 camera assembly. I traded in my 2020 for a 2024 and my trailer camera no longer worked. My 2024 did come with the whole camera assembly. I opened the old housing and swapped the camera that came with my truck. It does work now (including "invisible trailer")_. Someone on the other thread mentioned there was a way to buy the camera separately. Since I also had the interior camera set up in my car hauler trailer I purchased it. It was part number 85573256 for just the camera. $88.85 including shipping. I haven't had time to test it with the 2024 yet but I hope to in the next few days. I will look to see if the part number for the whole trailer camera with housing is still here someplace. Good Luck

I’m trying to find out if the hood / fender ornamental emblems are the same on the 2024 vs 2020-2023. The ones that say 6.6l Duramax on a diesel truck. I tried looking up the previous years part numbers on a gm parts website but the site doesn’t list anything newer than 2023. For the gas trucks I see the part number is 84586293 I’m contemplating the purchase of a lighted emblem but wanted to make sure it will fit as the seller doesn’t list 2024 as an option. Thanks
