  1. Is it typical to not replace the filter when doing a trans fluid change? reason I ask is because the shop that installed my headers/exhaust welded a clamp from the ypipe onto the catback. So I wouldn’t be able to drop the ypipe unless I take a grinder to it…
  2. I drive a 17, and it is tuned. I posted here because I’m trying to get as many knowledgeable responses as possible. The driveshafts on k2’s go out 120 - 130. And I’ve read that the max tow trucks came with a lower top speed around 90 or something (down from 100). So I assumed it must have dropped because of the 3.42 ratio. Which is a substantial drop for such a small change. I was hoping someone would have specific information regarding my driveshaft. The shop I’m working with wasn’t much help.
  3. Right, I’m wondering how much my top speed will drop after changing gears…
  4. Yeah, 8l90e So you had to change the carrier for 3.73s?
  5. Any thoughts on how changing gears will affect the driveshafts critical speed?
  6. Yeah I was thinking 4.10s, maybe even 4.30s max. Problem is 3.73s is the max size for 9.76 and the shop I’m working with won’t do a gear kit that has a spacer (to fit a larger gear).
  7. They’re 285/65r18. Sidewall says 33”, tire Calc will say 32.6”
  8. I have 3.23s with 33” tires so it’s really around 3.10 now. Im just not sure if a move to 3.73s would be enough to be noticeable..
  9. 3.23, 33” tires, 4wd. Looking for improvement in acceleration..
  10. Is a gear swap worth it? Better acceleration?
  11. Gear swap to 3.73s worth it?
  12. Didn’t know they made a 63r. Thanks
  13. Thoughts on using this filter? I recently put a btr 220 cam in, dod delete, upgraded trunnions. The shop that did the work says they use this filter in all of the LT based cars, trucks they modify.
  14. Was dynoed in 4th Regretting I didn’t do the intake manifold. Looking at getting btrs truck intake now. Doing a gear swap, and potentially the drive shaft
  15. Can someone explain how gear ratio affects driveshaft rotation? Google says a lower (higher numerically) ratio reduces driveshaft speed. Other websites state that it’s the opposite and that the drive shaft spins more for every rotation of the engine. I’m trying to determine how a gear swap would affect the drive shafts critical speed, and or the trucks top speed..
  16. Here’s another dyno showing the difference between 93 and e45. Not a huge difference but the truck feels way quicker using e85..
  17. They Just got back to me, looks like I can use any 5w40. Im thinking Pennzoil, but it doesn’t specify a drain interval like it does with the dexos rated oil…
  18. No I decided to not put the msd on. Davenport didn’t think it would make any extra power. They put in GM performance lifters, and btr chromoly rods. The truck feels pretty good down low, better actually. Pulls strong up top too. Hey, what oil are using? Davenport put in driven di40 and I don’t know if I have to stick with this oil, or if I can use something else. driven di40 is a racing oil and is only good for 5-7000 kms.
  19. So I recently had some mods done and thought I would share the results. BTR 220 Kooks headers/green cats E85 Sensor Magnaflow catback I wont even bother posting a sound clip; the magnaflow literally makes it quieter then stock (engine noise is way up). I could hardly believe it, because when I ran long tubes and corsa sport it was insanely loud. Stupid loud.. I should mention that I have 33" 10 ply LT tires that weigh roughly 70 pounds each. Which is why the numbers are low. Truck was dynoed with e40-e50; with 93 it only made 10-15 less hp. I was told it was dynoed in 5th. Not sure how that works though, as my my tires are only rated for 112... Overall I'm quite pleased; gained roughly 100 hp/ 100 ft/lbs at 5500 and gobs more up to 6500 (which the truck now shifts at)
  20. How did it crack?
  21. I kind of made the same mistake with my 6.2. Had to order a y with the green cats because I want to run e85.
  22. No idea. But when you say you have high flow cats are they regular or green? If they’re regular you’ll need to get green for the power level you’re at.
  23. I had 275 65 r18 on my truck and the front passenger side rubbed in reverse. Went with a leveling kit and a larger tire, offset wheel; no rubbing.
  24. Made a plexiglass window for the airbox.
