  1. Installed Banks air intake. They sent out the wrong window though, so I’ll have to make one out of plexiglass.
  2. Just quoting black bear. That would be at the crank not whp.
  3. I can't speak for everyone but my truck always runs better on 93; on 91 I get pinging. But I've been told cdn fuel isn't as good as fuel south of the border. As far as tuning goes, it should add 30ish horsepower. My butt dyno couldn't really tell a difference though.
  4. Had Krown rust protection applied today, along with their salt eliminator wash of the under carriage.
  5. The speed shop doing my cam is changing my oil weight to 5w40
  6. Still waiting to hear if Davenport can make an Msd fit… I told them about adding a pulley, but I’ll have to wait and see if they agree with that. Im also trying to figure out how to put together a 4” intake to go with an lt5 throttle body. It’ll have to be custom, nothing really made for our trucks.
  7. Well, truck seems to be ok so far. Fingers crossed!
  8. What ended up being the problem?
  9. no you’re not missing anything. Just overly concerned I guess. Thanks for your help!
  10. I also washed it when the truck was at operating temp. You think I could have cracked the block?
  11. So I thought I’d give the engine bay a quick wash; used spot free rinse so it wasn’t high pressure. It occurred to me later that I probably shouldn’t have done that. And I noticed the little symbol on the battery and computer indicating you shouldn’t pressure wash them… The truck runs, no codes, or weird electrical glitches. did I just damage the computer, battery or something else by doing this??
  12. Yeah, I guess there’s a high side and a low side to the fuel system. High side would be an lt4 fuel pump and injectors. Low side is actually in the gas tank itself. Pretty excited. It’s going to be a long wait though; I’m not booked in until August 5th.
  13. No need to do further upgrades to take it out to 7000. Except for maybe trunnion rocker arms. Which I was doing anyways for durability.
  14. I hear what you’re saying, I just feel that 30 ft lbs loss isn’t going to be that dramatic compared to a stock 6.2. At full throttle you spend what; a second under 4500? After that all you see is 4500 rpm and up. I blow the tires off as is, less torque down low will actually allow me to hook up, climb rpm and then I’m laughing. I'm confirming with Davenport whether or not additional upgrades are required to take it out to 7. im also doing e85, but it sounds like the fuel pump may or may not be up to it. So maybe e60 worst case scenario. It cost 6-7 grand to upgrade the fuel system!
  15. You gotta keep in mind too, that a msd with a tune likely makes more torque than an l86 manifold with a stock tune. Or at least the difference in power isn’t as dramatic.
  16. Yeah below 5000 it loses probably 30ft lbs, but up top it takes off with a cam. It does bolt up, but the belt will be in the way. I have to somehow add a pulley somewhere to drop the height of the belt… I know a converter would make sense, but ive fallen hostage to the numbers game. Davenport did recommend an msd. But I’m waiting to hear back whether or not they’ve ever installed one on a truck. I’m assuming no..
  17. Looking at getting this manifold to go with a cam, but I’m not sure what parts I need to make it work. I know it needs a pulley and a longer belt, but not the specifics.
  18. makes sense. I just used a calculator to figure out the rpm vs speed. Looks like I’ll have to do a 3rd gear run with my heavy LT tires…
  19. De-badged, the driver/passenger doors. And burnt the paint! I'm hopeful it will polish out though.
  20. I've read that the air is moving so fast through the intake that it doesn't really have time to absorb any heat before it enters the cylinder. Is that true? I'm also wondering if you have any real world experience with an aluminum intake; did you notice higher iat's over a plastic one?
  21. yes you can, needs to be turned on in the tune though.
  22. Thanks! I have a orbital polisher Ill just have to pick up the appropriate pad etc.
  23. Yikes, I didn't think this cam was that aggressive. Looks like I'll have to be quick on shifting to neutral. Converter isn't in the cards. Do you know why Davenport didnt dyno in 6th? my under standing is the driveshaft is good until 125ish, was it your tires?
  24. Thanks but I think it’s less of a scratch and more like burnt paint…
  25. yesh I was thinking I’d try magnaflow out. They have a single exit 4” with two mufflers. Nice numbers. I’m getting my work done at the same place!
