  1. Yeah, unfortunately where I am at even a good wax starts degrading within 3 weeks. I park under a cover at home but at work it sits outside. I live very close to the Gulf of Mexico (literally 100 yards from the water) and that may have something to do with it. My old a$$ gets tired waxing it . Now my GF's car gets waxed but it's rarely driven and stays in the garage most of the time, her car can go about 8-10 months with wax. I am not sure the ceramic will make it look any better on a white truck but what the hell. Another thing may be that even while at work I am very close to an active flightline/runway so the air quality isn't all that good here either.
  2. Yes, my reply was to @dieselfan1's comment on your truck and his ceramic coating! Your truck looks great and he just did the ceramic.
  3. Okay, I can now remove myself from this thread...I found the root cause of my issues and it turned out (for me) to be the Pedal Commander (see thread below if you get bored) not playing nice with my truck. It is not a Pedal Commander trashing thread either, I will still tell you that it worked GREAT in town and while towing, just didn't work for me at the upper end of performance expectations. My transmission is fine...so far
  4. It really is, normally I don't care for the de-badged look but his has the perfect balance of chrome accents to make those wheels really look good. BTW, you got me very interested in the ceramic...the more I see it the more I want it. Not sure how it will look on white but I'm probably gonna do it. I will have to pay a bit more than you did (just the pricing down here) but I think it's gonna be money well spent.
  5. I know you can space them however you want but I am curious about the shark fin antenna being in the way or is it a non-issue? Very nice, wish I had thought of this idea! If they hold up and don't do what my very expensive solar powered yard lights did (as in died a short time after buying them) I'd probably add them. I can already envision the Buicks (still sporting "spinners") running these LOL
  6. So nasty (acidic) the birds won’t even eat the little buggers...back in 1993 they took the paint off the front of my brand new Nissan because I didn’t wash it for a day and a half ?
  7. It literally took me 15 minutes, just have the two tools you need (watch the vid, don’t remember the size #15 torx and socket) ? took me a lot longer to stop playing with it ?
  8. Florida Panhandle...cost is $1500-$2200 depending on your paint’s condition. We deal with brutal sun, torrential rains and tons of bugs (yeah and they call it paradise lol) so his cost of $1600 is pretty reasonable IMHO!
  9. I have a PVC end cap, can’t imagine it freezing on there...it fits snug and easy to paint to a color close if you care about that. $1.98 at Lowe’s
  10. Well....I loved it until I did a few high speed runs. I will say that it worked beautifully in town and even while towing. I did a 65-90 acceleration pass and had shudder issues, I could duplicate this problem every time I did it. Thought I had the transmission shudder problem starting on my truck and even started a thread asking for inputs/advise/opinions. See this thread if interested. Returning the Pedal Commander to Amazon vs selling it on here to another user. It might be faulty and I don't want anyone else having this problem. Maybe I just got a bad one but I will just go back to the "old" days of a linear throttle. I sure hope I didn't cause anyone to rush out and buy one and if you did, I hope it works for you!
  11. Wow. sorry to hear that
  12. You have a 2017...are you over the 36,000 miles? I thought they would be covered under the 3/36 but not the 5/60 PTW?? A screen shot of a conversation with my service manager about injectors...he owns a Titan, thus the comment LOL
  13. If you buy one used, make sure it has the current updates... V8.6R1
  14. There should be no confusion IF THEY FOLLOWED INSTRUCTIONS but they did not ...You obviously did (as have a lot of others before you or me) and now you have your cluster in hand. Does it take a while for the whole process from start to finish? Yes it does! We live in a world of instant gratification and a lot of people have lost their ability to be patient. Just an FYI, your engine hours will reset to zero (can't be helped) and your Best MPG will take about 50 miles before it changes from --- to actual numbers. Everything else is spot on.
  15. You’re better than me lol...I waited about 12 hours...did it in the parking lot at work the next morning you will love it.
  16. I drive that road weekly so I am familiar with it, I don't do 90mph every time but that's really the only place I feel comfortable doing it. It didn't feel as violent as rumple strips, more like those traffic counter lines they stretch across the roadways, but like a thousand of them spaced out evenly.
  17. Well........damn I hate to have to add this but...on my way home (an hour ago) from Crestview Florida, I had an empty stretch of 4 lane roadway. Was doing 65 (posted speed limit) and literally nobody else around. So I decided to open her up and put the pedal down, not floored but down a good ways. It started at about 68mph and up to 90mph; the truck was shuddering. It's never done this before. I haven't done this enough to say its a habit. Anyway, as soon as I ease off the accelerator the shuddering goes away and it is smooth as silk, give it gas and it does it over and over. Feel it in the seat, not the steering wheel. It does not do this even on a hard WOT launch, it only starts at about 68mph and only under acceleration. Now I have added a Pedal Commander and the Range AFM disable since the last time I did this sort of driving, I will remove them tonight and see if this is somehow causing this new phenomenon. I can't guarantee a follow-up right away because it is RARE that I get a roadway that is empty and I do not endanger others. Some will point to the Pedal Commander and/or the Range but my suspicions are the transmission is starting to get the shudder others have had or still have. No CEL and no shaking at those speeds so it's not the tires.
  18. I use RXP but Elite is good too
  19. Yes I got an email (and he was dealing with a family emergency back around the second week of Dec 18) but no tracking number. I was kind of shocked that he even took the time to send me an email at that particular time but it was a fast turnaround. I know you’re excited (well I was) to get it but it will come packed really, really good. @GTPprix is an awesome and busy guy. Like I said, I got an email even with all he had going on.
  20. Wow...you pulling stumps? That’s stout!! It’s gonna be fun.
  21. Check you may already have the studs, I did and I have two I ordered. If you need them PM me your address and I’ll send them to you. It comes with a Cadillac emblem, you need to remove it and put what you want there...
  22. Mine. USAF badge (retired in 2002)
  23. Yes he has a very, very nice truck. Just noticed the valve covers...even the vent tube housing looks good
  24. AFM is like a really bad hang-over...they both suck and they both disappear over time (as in past warranty and it's gone)
