  1. Hey guys so I asked on Facebook and I didn't really get very far so I figured I'd bring it up here. 120,000 mi completely stock. Here's what's going on. so with the converter locked and I believe in 5th gear around 1500 RPM I randomly get what feels like a misfire when applying light throttle until the turbo spools up. I bought this truck from an auction all the glow plugs were bad replaced all those. The truck had some dead battery issues right before it went to auction so I looked at the stored codes but ended up clearing them because a lot of them were communication codes which would be related to a dead battery. All filter replaced, all fluids (except trans and xfer) replaced. I meant to write down the actual codes but one of them was for EGR and the other ones was for glow plugs. I've replaced the glow plugs everything is completely fine as far as that goes. the filter head does like to lose a little bit of prime overnight so if I just fire it up first thing in the morning it'll run a bit rough if I put about two pumps onto the primer it runs completely smooth after start. I have conflicting data from different scan tools some of them are showing the EGR experiencing large error % as far as deviation. My all tell is showing small amount of error (2% at idle) but not enough to trigger a code. Doesn't feel like 605 torque if I'm honest. Pretty sure my 8.1 could out pull it at this point. Here are the fuel numbers Attached is some OBD live data First few are some screen shots. The one with the date is the most recent. Here is a link to the EGR doing it thing last week while I drove around town. Big drive south (AK to AZ) supposed to start tomorrow night. But I don't want it to brake down in the middle of nowhere.

  3. Wierd I wonder if it uses AI with the rear camera. you could try a complete wiring harness like the ones they sell at Walmart with the lights and everything and just throw them in the bed and see if that works. [emoji1745] Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  4. Any 7 pin simulator should work I would think. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  5. You can add an aftermarket trailer brake controller but it's going to be inertia based, the factory one is integrated into the e-boost system. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  6. Trailer brake, no Bed outlet MAYBE do you have the 110 in the dash? Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  7. REDACTED my eyes deceived me. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk

  9. it really just depends on how hard you drive the truck if you're sitting there jumping it all the time you're probably going to snap them. if you just drive them on the road it'll probably never fail Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  10. It's leverage on the spring that's why GM says don't do it. Yes it will snap with hard enough use. Also because of how it's designed it's really only designed to flex sort of towards the ends and kind of give you a variable spring rate, whereas the steel one the whole thing can flex and as you flex more of it it's sort of variable.... it's kind of hard to explain. Anyways now you can get the conversion to steel springs from GM I think it's $600 and that includes both the springs and u-bolts. Just look at the 2021 accessories Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk

  13. They chopped it off, not a clean cut, would have to get a whole new cross member, and knuckles. Idk if it work it at 206k. Took it to GCWR from Arizona to Alaska and other than the squat she did amazing. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  14. If you hop into a trail boss it's literally exactly the same parts. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  15. Actually I've never compared those two but you're right the cost is very similar (assuming you don't live in Alaska where they charge $2,200 to install the kit) and both of them don't ride that well so. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  16. Nice, I tend to carry a bit more speed than I probably should off-road so for me keeping a low center gravity was very important. I have a 2500HD that's got a 6in lift and there are times now where I want to turn it back into a tow machine and I really can't because the crossover was cut soooooo. 17. I bought superlifts king kit. Haven't installed it yet. Being a serria sizes are limited. It will allow me to run 34. I don't want to trim anything, so going to a 6 didn't make sense. I also don't want to cut my cross members. https://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/240553-biggest-tire-upgrade-on-stock-rims-20%E2%80%99-sierra/ Lots of info here. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  18. Yes and yes. after you get the OEM lift kit installed you have effectively a Trail Boss / AT4 and when you're searching for additional items for it you will need to make sure that you buy the trail boss/ AT4 version Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  19. No it wont level it necessarily. That kit is the trail boss kit. So you will have the exact same suspension setup as a trail boss. So if the trail boss appears level to you that's what you are getting. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  20. Nice setup [emoji106]. Does it rub in g outs off road? Looking for a desert kit. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  21. [emoji50] when it's windy and you have a tall trailer you need to drop your speed much more than that, think 55 or so. That trailer would have no problem flipping your truck. If you were doing 65-70 in windy conditions yes 10 mpg is what you should expect. The wind is whipping all over the place and not moving smoothly over the body, this requires much more power. Frontal area of the trailer is a big factor too. Just be happy you don't have the gas engines, you would have been down to 7-8 mpg. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  22. Excessive friction as the engine breaks-in. These 3.0 are TIGHT from the factory I regularly saw oil temps over 300 while not towing during break-in. The GMCs have really poor aerodynamics above 55 compared to the Chevy. Towing with a lift (At4), was your butt down? this means instead of the air hitting the front of the truck it's actually hitting the bottom and acting like a huge sail pushing against the wind. 23. 275/60R20 AKA"33inch" is the largest factory size Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
