  1. Daystar cradles will solve the downward travel issue. I personally don't like shock extenders, it's another spot that can fail, if you do get some make sure that they are high quality. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  2. As for what type how hard do you actually drive the truck? Be realistic. you can actually rent the tool for AutoZone they take a deposit and then you get your money back when you bring it back. I always tell people to get the one for coils not the one for struts. The coil one is a lot stronger and beefier and works just the same as long as you can get it to fit. I've done both flavors of bilstein's in the past. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  3. I would assume so no update since 2019 on their Facebook plus 1.8 stars on Amazon. Likely bankrupt. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  4. I don't know of any. And TBH I wouldn't want one. If a thief comes up and plans to open the cover anyways, having it locked is just going to result in him cutting it open. Now you have to replace what was stolen, and your cover is ruined. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  5. An heavily optioned elevation is basically the same price as an SLT. And you get a lot more standard equipment on the SLT for the same money. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  6. You won't notice the gearing difference with the V6, it's torque curve is so flat. Yes if you have GPS timing gear there will be a difference, but you won't notice it. The speedo will be off without a calibration. As long as you aren't talking about jumping to 35s or 37s you should be fine. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  7. Can't upgrade to GM navigation anymore, dealer told me I could then I found out you can get the SD card, but GM isn't offering anymore activation codes. Wireless AA won't be backwards compatible as far as I know. I know on Ford it wasn't compatible because they all used 2.4 GHZ wifi. Does GM's unit recognize 5GHZ signals? Mine discos for no reason too. At first I thought it was my cable, so I pulled my brand one out of my phone box. Does the same thing. Then refuses to reconnect. Sometimes I have to even reboot my phone. Very frustrating when you don't have signal to get navigation back up. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  8. I have the 20's and my X31 feels heavy footed, after about 30 minutes I might as well not have any shocks back there. Now that the front has "broken in" it still stomps over small bumps and just moved too much. I don't mind a cushy ride, but the stomping is annoying and ruins the "cushy" feel. It the worst of both worlds, small bumps like it's set up for a track. And large bumps like theirs no shocks. I love my 2500HD and although she is heavy footed she is on 35's. That's right my 2003 with 200k miles rides better than my 60k truck. Said screw it and ordered kings from superlift. And 17's Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  9. Same, turns out I still had 7-8 feet. I'm used to trucks from the 90's even when I pull up my driveway I think I'm awefully close to my garage door, then get out and find 6 feet. Very upsetting because one day you are gonna think you have more room than you do. I don't have surround cameras, whish I did. The towing mirrors creat enough of a blind spot at offset junctions that I almost took out a lifted Duramax. The mirror hid him completely. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  10. It's designed that way. Did you get the surround view cameras? I'm 6ft1 with the seat all the way after I vacuumed the truck, up my sight lines aren't any better and I was basically against the ceiling. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  11. Yep. You have to stay in an overall diameter offered by GM. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  12. The wheel size (rim) actually has nothing to do with it it's changing the overall diameter that could couse issues. (Likely incorrect speed, if you got REAL crazy could have some badly behaving shift schedules) Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  13. Yes if you buy GM accessory wheels the dealer is authorized to change your speedometer. However there is a chart of what is authorized. Don't know if they'll do it with just OEM wheels Work truck come with tiny tires because they are cheaper for companies, and "unlock" additional performance. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  14. As much as I hate them, these trucks sould really have variable springs. But then they would "squat too much" with a load. I drove our 200k 1995 f150 today. It rides well, not because the suspension design is good, but because the 15 inch wheels REALLY softened the bumps. and when the suspension did move it felt natural. Yes it has a super flexy frame so the front and rear feels like they are from 2 different cars, but aside from that I was shocked at the ride quality difference. This is the first time I have taken it on my normal commute. Kinda jealous of the spouse now.[emoji23] Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  15. SAE J2807 is how GM rates. The final number GM can lower if they so chose, but it would still pass SAEJ2807. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  16. GM is always focused on ease-of-use. that's why for the longest time they have the lowest tow rating of the duallys but the difference was is when you max them out to their limit they performed much better than any of the others at their claimed max. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  17. That fitting looks awfully vulnerable Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  18. What's the difference in their compressed length? Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  19. When I called Bilstein a couple years ago they had fantastic customer service and they have this massive database that has all the measurements. It was for my Ranger, it felt like the shock was overextending. He was actually able to tell me that their shock still had another inch of travel at Max true. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  20. Cheap? Line out converter to intercept the sub signal under the center console. Could just use an amp that has speaker level inputs. Wouldn't be able to tune bass out of the doors though. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  21. Already spoken with insiders, no refresh for 2021. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  22. Ya GM is shoving "coupons" into dealers. Coupons is a chunk of cash, the dealer can pass it on to the consumer, or keep it for themselves. As supplies dry up dealers are holding more for themselves. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  23. The covid production stop on a truck that was discounted up to $15k off is why the supply is so short. 2021 building begins in September because of covid. https://gmauthority.com/blog/2020/07/2021-silverado-1500-to-gain-three-new-editions/amp/ Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  24. 2021 is a carry over 2022 is getting the new interiors Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  25. Very unlikely to be retroactive Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
