  1. Hi - my issue with the Diesel appeared to be some sort of sensor that was telling the ECU my DEF was empty when it was indeed completely full. This caused the truck to go into limp mode, technically it’s like 40mph. The real issue was I was towing a 7,000lb enclosed trailer on I-40 in New Mexico at 2am and the truck essentially shut down on the highway. I could only go 10-15mph. This threw all sorts of CEL’s on the dash. There was no easy fix so I limped it to my destination which was about 700mi away. It broker down about 15 more times. When I got the truck home I had it flatbedded to the dealer. It sat for 2-3 weeks and had numerous issues - they said it was leaking oil and potentially diesel fuel. They also said a sensor was busted so even though DEF was full, the ECU was showing it empty. I had them buy the truck from me. I didn’t want to see it again. Needless to say with the vehicle shortages I made money on it. Perhaps my issue was isolated but given the real inconvenience it caused and the danger it put me in, I wouldn’t buy another diesel.
  2. Thank you! I’ve since sold it and have a TRX on order but no issue with the auto 4wd whatsoever. The truck ride beautifully with the entire setup. I drove it 3000mi cross country and had no issues (can’t say the same with the Diesel engine, it broke down a dozen times).
  3. SumoSprings are just for towing FYI Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Still working just fine, no issues after 1 year. I’m driving cross country 3,500mi next week with a trailer in tow so that will be a great test. I’ve purchased SumoSprings for the rear as it was sagging too much. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Was just able to measure as I wasn’t with the truck. 78” give or take an inch. You should be good to go. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Thank you! The Superlift kit comes with aftermarket upper control arms. It's reasonably priced for what you get.
  7. Definitely. I would say about a -5Mpg difference with this setup. I've only driven the truck 2500mi in 6 mos so it doesn't bother me. I would expect a similar delta if you are going with a like-setup.
  8. Not a dumb question! First, I’d try talking with someone at Custom Offests. They know their stuff when it comes to offset/fitment etc. Secondly, my first concern would be with the design of the wheel in an 18” where you may have a issue clearing the caliper. 20” clears no problem. The spacers don’t make much of a difference and i may actually remove them because they push the wheels out just a little too much. Hope this helps! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Best of luck, looking forward to seeing the setup! This truck gets so many compliments, wherever I go. I live in Boston proper so you can imagine there aren't many lifted blacked-out Silverado Diesel's with bronze 20" wheel
  10. Definitely be careful with these! The shipping weight for the setup was around 470lbs so do the math.
  11. No sweat - lets face it, this is the exciting part. They freight company was fine, very accommodating. They called my cell directly and the dispatcher was pleasant and easy to work with, but again, there are thousands of them so your mileage may vary. Also, don't underestimate how much 20" wheels mounted on tires weigh - wow. Custom Offsets seems a little disorganized. Overall I would use them again but know I 'know what I know' so I'd be a little more detailed.
  12. Too funny! I was in a unique situation where I was out of town when the shipment was supposed to get here so even paying the expedited shipping it wasn't fast. They had to put a hold on my stuff and then I had to work with them to release it. They also forgot to tell me they weren't shipping the spacers with the main shipment so that screwed everything up. Then the TPMS didn't register with the truck after they told me they would. It was an act of God to try and get them to tell me WHICH type of TPMS they installed (hint, it was the wrong one). All I could get out of them was the brand, ITM. Needless to say they said they'd cover the costs of making right and getting three TPMS light to turn off. At the time I had another vehicle I was selling (2018 Tacoma) that also had TPMS issues as I had swapped tires back on it so my focus was that vehicle. I still have the lights on almost 3 mos later. I just have to bring it to a garage to have them fix it as the Chevy dealer tried and couldn't because they aren't factory. Real pain in the ass.
  13. I got a lot of rub initially. I removed the front mud flaps and then trimmed the metal around where they connect at the bottom with a dremel.
  14. The calipers and suspension components actually clear fine. I did this as a precaution by May end up removing them unless i get fender flairs. They stuck a little too much. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. BDTrims tailgate plastic letter inserts. About $50. Very happy with how they came out. It just looked unfinished before. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Here’s a pic with the spacers on (10mm). I did not have to use them as there was plenty of space. FWIW I also just got an alignment. Although the vehicle drove straight, everything (camber, alignment etc) was WAY off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I do, yes. Did it right after the very first wash. Had a detail shop for 10 years so I’m pretty particular. I use mostly Adam’s Polishes products. This is their ceramic coating product. Works real well and should last 1-1.5yrs even with me washing it 2x / week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Thank you - real happy with the way it came out. Didn’t realize how bad the factory rake really was! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Wow - thanks! What a small world. Great meeting you and let me know if you have any questions on my build as you get closer to pulling the trigger. Happy to help. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Thanks. First thing I did was ceramic after the very first wash. Had a detail shop for 10yrs so I do it myself using Adams products. Very happy with the rig so far. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. 800mi and running just fine. Had a dead battery issue with 250mi on it but I’m going to chalk that up to me installing an LED front turn signal that drew phantom power from the battery. Very happy with the motor. Great power and trans is extremely smooth and power is linear. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. 2020 RST Crew Cab Duramax Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. And under $300 shipped! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Installed Tonnosport roll-up tonneau cover. Very happy with the look and sleek fit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
