Sorry for delay in responding. School started back this week. Next up is probably a Jeep Wrangler. I’ve owned a few and I’ve always enjoyed them. They hold their value incredibly well. My daily driver is a Chevy volt, so my truck was just my weekend toy. I live in Texas, 2nd largest truck market in the U.S. and our dealers really aren’t heavily discounting Silverado’s right now. City metro area of 7.5 million folks, and surprisingly a lot of folks buying used cars right now. It was the perfect storm in my favor ! One cool thing is the dealer I sold to gives you a tax credit if you purchase another car from them within the next 12 months, and they own dealerships for all the major brands. I actually had a Tesla model S I sold their Jeep dealership 1.5 years ago, then used that credit when I bought my truck. The worst part of all this,.. the new truck parts sitting in my garage : ( on a side note there were issues with the truck that bothered me, so I wasn’t devastated to sell.
Got a call this week from my local dealer that they were looking to buy Silverados. I thought it was a “come trade on a new one” scam but they said there was a shortage and to give them a chance to make an offer.... so I did.... and we’ll, they made me an offer I couldn’t say no to. I bought a year ago at 16k off sticker for 34k. Sold it a year later for 41,500. ? pure craziness. It’s been awesome following the forum and posts. Thanks all!
GM is still running their accessory sell via online orders: 10% off $100, 15% off $250, 20% off $500+. I'm trying to purchase a few things and it won't apply the discount. I've gone all the way to the "Submit to finalize" button and it doesn't apply. Have any of you purchased using the discount? If so, did it apply it automatically? or does it refund after the purchase? Thanks!
Can anyone clarify what other GM models’ mirrors are interchangeable with our trucks ? I see some in this thread have found Cadillac mirrors. There’s Escalade mirrors on eBay for $300. 17-20 model year. They look a bit different and different part numbers.
Personally, I like this a lot. Nice job. Interested in seeing how the friction fit holds up long term.
Thanks, man. All the chrome looked good with the chrome bumpers and wheels, but my goal is to lift, and swap to black wheels so my personal taste is to black it all out. Fingers crossed the end result looks like how I envision it in my head! Lol
Thank you. I’ve used it on wheels before and they’re still in great condition 4 years later. I anticipate any issues to be with the front and rock chips, etc. $5 in costs and a few hours, I figure it’s worth a shot.
Have been so tired of the chrome on my new truck, so I've started the process of blacking all the chrome out. Took about 4 hours today, but I completed the emblems, side mirror caps, and running boards. Here's a YouTube video I created if anyone's interested.
