  1. I took my truck to a different dealer and reported the steering column issue and squeaking brakes with 36k miles on my truck. They fixed it under warranty no questions asked. Maybe just take it to another shop and try. I get a squeak on the pads every now and then but its what I consider normal.
  2. The pins are angled differently. Hack job describes this perfectly.. They had my truck for almost two months to do this work also...
  3. Thank you. Not something you really think about beforehand. they replaced the upper part of the tailgate, “fixed” the bedside and tailgate locking pins. I’m beyond frustrated as this is one of the worst repair jobs I’ve ever had done in anything.
  4. I recently had my pro tailgate repair and the top portion was replaced. (fifth wheel fell on tailgate) I know, I know. learned the hard way... It pulled the tailgate back and bent the tailgate pins. Honestly it looks like they just beat them back into place and their are hammer marks around the pins. (certified insurance shop...) Besides that, when i push/pull the tailgate it has a decent amount of wobble. I don't remember if it moved before or if it did how much it did. It opens and closes just fine and looks to be in line from all seams i can see. I am taking it back to the shop because the top part of the tailgate is still caved in a bit.... Just wanted to ask how much play the tailgate has while closed and if there's anything i should be looking at when i take it back. I can add pictures if needed once it stop pouring rain. Also why I didn't notice it at the shop.
  5. You got me beat by 6" so I see what you mean.. You might need a aftermarket adhesive blind spot mirror on your blind spot mirror. ..... I thought about it myself though....
  6. I had this happen twice this year. Think a rear one and then today the front left did it. It goes away after a few miles.
  7. I’m used to it as well but it’s does take more effort to stop and seems to take forever to stop and stops hard. It’s a odd feeling. when I drive my wife’s explorer I stop really fast and hard the first couples stops lol.
  8. I have the same issue! I duck to see the blind spot. It’s super annoying. I tried sitting lower but felt really uncomfortable so I just duck now…
  9. I’ve been having issues lately trying to autostart my truck. The key fob has new batteries and seems to sometimes work from 10-15 feet away. It used to be 50-100’ depending on sight lines. When it doesn’t, it will just lock the truck then seems to lock me out for a minute or two. I can’t unlock the truck or anything with the key fob. the app sometimes works and when it doesn’t it says off where you would start the truck. After I delete the app and reinstall I can use the app. Anyone else having issues?
  10. It’s 7,500 miles the dealer told me. But if my pads were the wrong ones they would change it even tho I had 9,500 miles. Good luck. My dealer sucks. 2* for a reason.
  11. No. It’s intermittent also. It happens the most when coming to a stop at low speeds <10mph and it always happens in a drive thru.
  12. So just got home from picking up my truck... I gave them the TSB and they said i had the correct pads on. They kept telling me the squeaking and humming is normal and they can't do anything because 1. I'm over the 7500 miles to do the TSB and 2. I have the correct pads... The supervisor said he has a 2500 that does the same and he just lives with it..... i have never had a vehicle that does this and it be normal.... I even showed the service advisor my video and she said that is pretty loud.. UGH...
  13. So dealer said the tech said my brakes and odds are perfectly fine. There’s some brake dust which is causing the squeaking and humming which is 100% normal.... wtf??? But wait if I want to resurface my brakes for $133 that’ll fix the squeaking.
  14. Mine has been doing this lately but i figured it was the case of water i have in the bed... I guess once i get my truck back from the dealer for brake and steering issues ill remove the water and see if it still happens.....
  15. Just took mine in today for brakes squeaking and steering clunk noise. They also did a complimentary oil change and updated the software for a DEF issue? Of course 9 hours later i get ahold of them and they tell me they could not replicate the brakes squeaking and humming and the steering column clunk... I told them i will be down there in the morning with my videos showing the noises... I even pointed out the service bulletin about the brake pads. 9 HOURS to do an oil change and software update and drive the truck around the block!!!!
  16. It took a long time to get used to what seemed as horrible stopping power. I was pulling my side by side and coming to a red light and making a left hand turn. I starting stopping and ran over some of the yellow bumps and the truck thought i lost traction and activated the ABS and i almost slammed into the car in front of me. Second week of owning the truck. Still have to keep an eye when in drive thrus because sometimes i creep forward and don't realize it.
  17. SO its not just my imagination! I was feeling the steering clunk and front end clunking on uneven bumps and thought it was because its a 3/4 ton ( my first 3/4). Im glad its not me and I'm going to call the dealer tomorrow morning.
  18. Correct, but does it let more fresh air in with the heater on? It seems like the recirculate doesn't work at all when the heater is on. I know my old truck (ford) would turn off the recirculate after a few minutes with the heater on and once i pressed the button again it would work. Im just wondering if this truck just lets more air in automatically without the option to stop the exhaust fumes from coming in.
  19. So now that its starting to get cold the heater has been coming on. I keep the air recirculate on because i rather not smell all the exhaust fumes and weird smells from outside. But now all i can smell is the exhaust fumes from other vehicles even with the button on. Is this normal that it doesn't work with the heater on?
  20. I helped do the door handles. I let the door latch lock go and had to figure out how to bring the latch back to catch the handle though. That sucks.. don’t do that. I also wrapped a few of the chrome parts on the center console area. The sun glare was intense. The cup holder ring, and the two side pieces with wood trim. They just pop out. For the rest my neighbor had me drop it off at his shop, so it was super easy haha. It took him and one other guy 1-1/2 days to complete the rest. They said it was harder than it seemed to take off all the other parts. I don’t know if they only worked on my truck the entire time either. Are you planning on doing it all by yourself?
  21. I finished my wrap last week.
  22. I just installed the gator trax. It’s been one day but so far it’s been nice. It gets tight towards the end but the instructions do say it’s part of the break in process. I installed it by myself without any issues and took me maybe an hour. Most time was measuring and Measuring again once it was on. Hopefully it’ll increase my mpg on the highways. Just filled it up so will see in two weeks when it’s refill time. I got 13.9 idc and 12.7 On my own calculation. Quite a big difference. Hopefully the truck is off and not the gas pump...
  23. Nipple rings ahahaha! I just black out the gmc and it looks twenty times better. When I get time I’ll do the rings.
  24. Chrome delete process, to blackout the toe hooks or not? New KMC wheels. Bed cover on its way. Amp power steps are next.
  25. Hey bass, how much wrap are you expecting to need to complete the blackout project? I’m looking to order some but I have no idea how much I’ll need.
