  1. Further to that, to make it even easier, I just phoned my dealer and he was able to tell me within minutes what camera model was in the tailgate by the VIN lookup. And they had one in stock, I just bought it from them, the price difference wasn't enough to bother me... I still can't understand why they charge so much for the camera setup. Blows my mind.
  2. Maybe use a volt meter and check for continuity. Maybe a break in the cable somewhere?
  3. I had the same issue, buddy at the dealer told me the camera has to be the same model # as the camera for the back up camera in the tailgate. Once he confirmed the model #, got that one and it worked perfectly. He said there are many different models and they may vary from year and model. Hope that helps.
  4. Just passing along an install sheet from my local canopy dealer. The struggle: wiring the center brake light on the canopy without having it flash when you signal. Becuase Chev/GM use the same bulb for the brake and signal flasher. Although you can purchase a device that connects to both left and right brake/signal wires to isolate thr flash, this tells you how to wire it from the harness under the dash from the stock high mount brake light wire. You will need to tap into that wire and run it to the back of the truck. This is a much cheaper option than spending $50-$60 on a module.
  5. Were you able to find a compatible knock off online or did you go get it right from GM?
  6. I'm having the same issue. Did you manage to get it working ?
  7. Is there a file around to make this on a 3d printer?
  8. Ahh good stuff, thanks for that. I'll do a little searching both sides of the border.
  9. Yup. I have all that and the provision for that camera including the plug in, I told them that but they still say a transparent view camera doesn't exist. Even gave them my VIN. So they should know all that too.
  10. I have a 2025 Sierra Elevation. I was inquiring with my local dealer about the transparent trailer view camera. He couldn't locate any info on it,.said he heard it was on backorder and when products aren't available GM usually removes it from the system. I messaged GM About this camera, asking for a part number so I can try and locate one somewhere. Not sure why they are being secretive, refused to give me a part # and said they would inquire with my dealer. Explained again that they have no idea or info but insisted on making the call. Surprise surprise they had no info. So GM tells me there is no camera for the transparent trailer view, my only option is to get an aftermarket setup, then said they don't recommend it as it may void parts of my warranty. They ended the chat after I asked why they are advertising this feature. What gives??? Did I just get a dummy over there?
  11. Nice " caring " reply, ... Too bad you don't respond to the email and just leave us hanging for a solution ...
  12. I had the exact same problem with my 2020 Silverado (Z71, 3.0 Duramax)... Very "soft" suspension. Noticed it way more while towing. Hitting imperfections in the highway made it bounce up and down like a boat in a wavey ocean. Was solved by adding airbags. Previously I had a 2017 Colorado (Z71, 3.0 Duramax) and the suspension was way better. More stiff, no bouncing.
  13. I haven't had any disconnect issues, but the crackling during calls happens and is annoying as hell....
  14. 2020 Silverado LT z71 3.0 Duramax So I took my truck in to get a new keyfob programmed. The next day I noticed my keyless entry keypad is no longer working. It worked fine the weekend prior to dropping it off. I brought the truck back for them to look at it, as the master code was not working to reprogram a new code. They tell me the fob programming has absolutely nothing to do with the keypad and have no idea why it's not working. They asked for all the fobs, invoice etc so they can contact GM. They then tell me there should be more paperwork for the keypad, but they were given it all. They say there's nothing they can do except to buy a new programming code from GM for $350 , or bring it back to the selling dealer as it seems to be their problem. Which I think is a cop-out, any dealer should be capable. I've contacted the selling dealer and waiting to get a call back, so thought I'd put it out here for input in the meantime.
  15. Awesome, thanks. I found many part numbers when doing a Google search, the tp1015 was one I seen on several searches, so assumed this may be the one.
  16. Haven't been able to find any info on here Can anyone confirm if the ACDelco TP1015 fuel filter is the correct one for this truck?
  17. Hahaha ok, keyboard of shame... my wife went back and put her hand there, it's the tailgate... In her words, "wash your damn truck, dumbass" Admin: you can trash this post...
  18. I noticed today that about 1 inch at the bottom of the screen is cutoff only for the rear camera. It's clean and unobstructed. Has anyone come across this before? Picture attached. 2020 Silverado Duramax
  19. Nice!! Mystery officially solved... In my defense, it only appeared within the last few weeks during a software update... What I wish they did, is make a small modification to the little truck icons. When I'm towing, and adjust my bags, it's hard to tell whether the 1 or 2 degrees I'm out is to the front or back. The movement on the icon is so minuscule for that small amount of adjustment.
  20. Maybe it's to let us know that we're upright and not flipped on the roof. Haha
  21. I believe you're correct. Doesn't change whether 2, 4 or auto., forwards or reverse.. always there.. Seems kind of like a dumb idea if it's actually infact showing which is the front cuz you can see the back of the truck in the picture and the top wheels angle when you steer. Lol. Ohh well, I guess mystery solved...
  22. I just noticed this up arrow on the level/offroad section of the DIC. Anyone know what it means? I swear it just appeared recently... It doesn't change whether I'm facing up or down hill.
  23. I picked these up from the dollar store, under $5 bucks. Steel wire frame with a black fabric type material. works well for me...
  24. Yes. I have both 7 pin and flat trailer connectors. Was thinking it might be the option for trailer TPMS or trailer back up camera???
  25. Anyone know what this plug is for located behind the rear license plate?
