I have been going around the Nav issues since buying my 2019....Early in the nav threads there was a lot of talk about being able to "flash" the IOS system to add the Nav if you had the GM maps card & reader....sometime ago that "program" or upgrade was discontinued....so I may be stuck with the I Phone maps via the display.... If you know anything about this....It would be great! Which brings me to this response is "changing" the display.....can you alter the direction on the maps display? My display always shows the arrow he\aded down...rather than up, forward moving....can this setting be changed? It would be easirer...at least for me....to understand the display map if the arrow pointed in the direction I was driving VS north/south

Completed full audio upgrade, Dynamat (or like) is a great plus. Under door panel and full outside skin really deadens the door rattles, adds bass and an overall improvement....pulled the interior and covered full floor, yes, its a lot of Dynamat...do it right once and done! Pull the trigger, you wont regret the investment

Removing the display is not for the weak of heart....it is a process....you will take apart more than thought....knee bolster, top of cluster pad, trim, bezels, etc....it is NOT difficult, just seems like more than one would normally think. 90% of it is snaps....maybe 8 screws all in.... There are a lot of cards out there for sale. Yes, You really only need the card.....However....There IS an activation code that you need when the dealer does the FLASH on the ECU. Without the code...the card CAN NOT BE INSTALLED AND ASSIGNED TO THE VIN. Spent hours going back and forth with the dealership....even the GM Instructions clearly show...when to enter the activation code in the FLASH programer to activate a NON NAVIGATION vehicle. To be fair....All the IOS 8" Infotainment systems HAVE THE NAV built in, it is not activated...YES, you need a new, unused/unassigned card to make this work. When you buy the kit from GM...and it is still available for just under $600....it comes with the card...and a code....Not much of a "kit", but it will allow the tech to flash the ECU The online reseller that requires the core....has the cards and codes...he takes the return units, installs the code in the ECU during the flash in his facility and sells an operating module....true, he agrees there are some issues with the On-Star and the ECU "talking" to each other....does not offer a solution to these issues. So you buy another ECU... swap it and return the core for a credit. Then deal with On Star and XM to have them change the serial numbers to re-activate the new ECU serial numbers/codes to return the satelight radio to operational mode. It is NOT....Simply installing a card and flashing the ECU. I am neither a GM employee or Tech....Simply a customer who went through the entire experience and expense to learn the hard way....buying the "card" does not install NAV. Just my five cents!

Completed a full system upgrade on 2019 Sierra....NON Bose to start, 8" IOS....Began with 140 liner feet of DynaMat...outside door skins, and inside skins as well....do it all if you are serious about the upgrade, complete floor board coverage to keep the cabin "solid/dead" Swapped all four doors with the JBL components...JL Audio 10" subs in a SubThump box, JL Audio 5 channel amp and the JL Audio LC7 controller.....JJL Audio takes awhile for their loop harness before shipping (a month!)....it is awesome...once you get it! Long and short of it...Sounds awesome....more than I really expected Weird drawback....Never considered the warning bells for rear seat child guard, seat belt warning, phone interface, etc....ALL OF THIS IS SCREAMING AT ME! Is there anyway to either mute or disable these warnings/chimes to not BLAST through the new audio sound? The sound is great...just want to reduce the blast from the left front on the additional signal these speakers receive..... Headed to the dealer today to do the NAV upgrade (flash)....Hoping they understand the tech part.... PS....DynaMat really helps deaden the sound the onboard compressor makes under the rear seat compartment keeping the 3 gallon air tank full for the Ride Rite air bags and train horn!!!! Now I need a new project to add to this ride!

Cant say this is the absolute answer.....IMO and from what I have read and learned....you could swap screen and controller from behind glove box/above right kick panel...may be plug n play, may need reprogrammed. There is also a card reader in the console you may want to swap...this is "normally" for the factory GPS...may do other options...Just my 10 cents...If your getting the components on the cheap...might be woth the "try"....its a big change in components...Hope it works...The IOS is awsome

SLT Model DOES NOT close via remote or Key Fob Bummer!

I have found several options to upgrade the OEM (non Bose) system to add Nav....Has anyone had success in this? Found the control unit and SD cards from different vendors....just don't want to invest if this is a headache waiting to happen!
