  1. I have the same truck, but with 3.42 gears and tow a 9000 lb trailer with no problems. My truck is a crew cab short box with the same axle ratings as yours. I did upgrade to a class IV hitch and added an extra leaf spring to help with squat.
  2. My 2010 Silverado 1500 5.3 voltage gauge usually show slightly over 14v, but sometimes drops quite a bit lower. Due to the vague markings on the dial I'm guessing 12-13v. It doesn't seem to follow any pattern due to electrical load or engine RPM. Any thoughts? Thanks!
  3. Occasionally my gauge reading drops to about 10-12v. this can happen while idling or driving. 95% of the time it reads above 14v. I can't find a pattern or cause. I'm thinking maybe my voltage regulator or the alternator itself my be going? Any ideas?

  6. Must be pretty common because mine occasionally throws the same code. It tends to go away though for weeks at a time before returning.
  7. Look at the aluminum radiators at carid.com
  8. I would also add the biggest trans cooler you can fit.
  9. I have a 2002 Silverado 1500 with the 4.8. My stock radiator is the 17.25" x 28.25" x 1" core unit with trans cooler and no oil cooler. Does anyone know of a two or three row heavy duty replacement that will drop right in without modifications? I tow a trailer and have some cooling issues.
