  1. Yeah, I know in my heart of hearts it’s not a good deal. But it’s the only one within 500 miles that’s exactly what I want. And it’s one of only a few 3.0L diesels. Believe me, I made a detailed offer but they wouldn’t budge. Five dealers within 100 miles of here. Two offer 5% dealer discount but have no diesels, two don’t seem to be interested in dealer discount or in being competitive. The 5th is unknown. Had a 2011 Yukon Denali in another locale but never dealt with this local dealer. Mostly I’m just venting but $3k is nothing to sneeze at. That buys a tri-fold tonneau and some other mods. And experience tells me that I’ll eventually find the deal I want but will most likely need to compromise on color, options etc. haven’t yet explored the idea of a swap between dealers but supply is somewhat limited. And so on........ the quest shall continue.
  2. I get your drift. However this is a common topic on every owner forum I’ve participated in. Nobody’s forcing you to participate. I’ve bought 17 cars/SUV's since 2000 so it’s not my first rodeo. This will be my first truck (bucket list item) so thoughtful/helpful input is appreciated.
  3. Finally located a 2020 SLT 4x4 Crew Cab in the color and configuration I want. Premium Plus, Sun Roof, Dark Sky, 3.0L Diesel, X31. Having a go around with the sales mgr. regarding a dealer discount. I'm seeing nearby dealer discounts in the 4--4.5% range in addition to the GM $6k incentive. However, the only truck that meets my desired combo of color and options is at a dealer who isn't budging much. On a positive note, this truck is in-transit and dealer has promised NO add-ons/packs such as tinting, nitrogen, pinstripe, etc. Here's the deal as of this morning. Your comments are welcome as to the merits of this deaL MSRP: $63,275 GM Discount - 6,000 Dealer Discount - 830 (1.3% + or -) Tax/tag/etc + 555 Out the Door $57,000
  4. I age my wine on the car seat on the way home from the liquor store and have the same theory with driving cars/trucks.........pop the cork and enjoy!
  5. Any clue as to a date one can order MY 2021?
  6. And I’m actually stuck between 3.0 diesel (in which case the exhaust upgrade isn’t available) and the 5.3 with performance exhaust. Ordering a short bed SLT loaded so the 5.3 with PExhaust is actually a few dollars less if you compare the $2495 diesel up charge. Have driven German diesels since 2014 and the in-line 3.0 GM diesel is sweet and comparatively refined. Now that it’s been on the road for 1+ years I’m guessing the kinks are worked out? My experience is that diesels like highway miles.
  7. Placing my order next week for 2020 Sierra 1500 SLT with 5.3L. After reading your comments, My take on the Performance Exhaust is that it's a worthy upgrade, not obnoxiously loud but a noticeable change from stock with a slight performance improvement. I've added it to my build. Anybody want to talk me off the ledge before Monday?
  8. New to this forum. Took this one for a test drive the other day. Dark Sky Metallic loaded Sierra 1500 SLT with 3.0 Duramax. I've owned diesels since 2014, Mbenz GL 350 and current BMW X5 35d. The Duramax is much more refined than either. Impressive acceleration and quite torquey. I'm not a hauler/tower. Some of the lease numbers I've look at are quite favorable and I'm very close to pulling the trigger. Based on what I'm seeing the residual on a 36 mo/12k lease must be 60%+. Anybody out there who can confirm?
