  1. For many years I’ve been participating in automotive forums of just about every manufacturer. One common theme is that a large percentage of posts are by complainers rather than the majority who are happy with their vehicles.
  2. Extang makes a good product and you can purchase at any number of auto supply stores or amazon.com
  3. Thanks and yes I too hate the stock 22's and it took a while to find a truck with these wheels. Actually preferred the Duramax but couldn't locate one to my specs. Also wanted Dark Sky but settled for Carbon. Happy with the truck after 5 months and 6k miles.
  4. To a great extent the GM/Chevy website has useable data on inventory. Build one to your specs using the configurator and it'll show inventory within a specified number of miles from home.
  5. My 2020 with 6.2 easily tows a 28' Airstream with dry weight 5980/GVWR 7600 and Hitch weight @ 903. I'd recommend the 3.0 Duramax or the 6.2 assuming you've got your heart set on a new truck and are okay with 10--12 mpg while towing with the 6.2.
  6. Ahhhh...........the Cowboy Cadillac!
  7. 36 GALLON FUEL TANK
  8. To quote Jay Leno.........."MPG is like sex! Guys lie!"
  9. Another thought/opinion on the 3.0 is that diesels like highway miles and as such will perform optimally. Both of my past diesels were driven across the country........east/west and north/south...........and back without a hitch. The 6.2 is a proven workhorse but not without its faults. I'm glad I got the 6.2 (sorta) if only because the days of the V8 are numbered. Old school guy here but damn I get tired of refueling every 350 miles or so.
  10. I have a '20 Denali......Carbon Black, 6.2 and loaded. After five months and 5400 miles I'm very pleased with it. No issues. Tows a 6500 lb. travel trailer with ease. I wish it had a larger fuel tank and had I been able to locate a 3.0 similarly equipped I would have gone with the diesel. Have owned 2 German diesel SUV's in the past and loved their performance and fuel efficiency. Happy hunting.
  11. I completely agree. I've been a member of many auto owner forums and they all seem to attract complaints of some sort in about 75% of the posts. I think it's human nature to post complaints more often that one would post kudos. That said, I have found them to be helpful in troubleshooting stuff. I'm happy as a clam with my Sierra. Tows like a dream and holds tons of stuff!.
  12. I tow a 28' trailer @ 6396 lbs dry weight and 929 hitch weight. Get the proper hitch setup and you'll be fine. That's the key to happy towing.
  13. Go after the other party's insurance co for diminished value.............. This truck will forever be branded as having been in an accident.
  14. Adaptive ride, power running boards, 22" wheels, chrome bling if you like that sorta thing................should be pretty easy to compare using the GM configurator.
  15. I got the bedrug mat and am happy with it. Covers only the bed (not sides) and makes it easier to slide stuff in and out and protects both the stuff and the spray in liner.
  16. I have the 6.2 and it was a June 2020 build in Indiana. Now at 4500 trouble free miles. Excellent performance from this engine. Just completed a 1100 mile roundtrip and averaged 18.3 mpg. Wish it had a larger fuel tank! And I would have gone the 3.0 Duramax route had I been able to locate one with my required specs.
  17. Recently completed my first tow of 27 ft. Airstream approx 6500 lbs dry weight. My 6.2 with 10 speed purred like a kitten on roundtrip of 611 miles. Avg mpg was 11.5 @ 65 mph on relatively flat terrain with moderate to no wind. Based on your description of your trailer I'd say the 6.2 or the 3.0 Duramax would meet your needs plus some. I read good reviews of the Duramax on this forum.
  18. The idiot governor of CA wants to outlaw the ICE by 2035. Meanwhile their electric utility is responsible (faulty equipment) for millions of acres burned each year and every summer Californians are subject to rolling blackouts because PG&E can't produce enough electricity. WTF is he smoking?
  19. Did your truck come with a 5th wheel or did you add it? Is that Dark Sky Metallic? Fab color!
  20. Nice looking truck. Great color!
  21. I also leased as back in July the money factor calculated to 1.57% interest rate and the residual value is 61%. Also got $3k dealer discount, $1,500 lease credit plus GM educator discount which I recall was $2,995. It's a 39mo/12k miles per year lease and up front fees were SC tax ($500) plus first month payment. Over the years I've leased and purchased. I like a new vehicle every 3 years or so and leasing at these rates is hard to beat.
  22. I find it interesting to read all the discussion and complaints about the interior finish. This is my first truck and I've had four German SUV's since 2008. The fit and finish and technology in my 2020 Denali is every bit as good as any vehicle I've had.
