  1. Sure hope they do a better job at quality control and focus on customer retention. This 2020 2500hd Diesel I have is a lemon.
  2. So I have a 2020 2500hd diesel and on my TT (I DO NOT HAVE SOLAR PANELS) but it does have a battery. I lose trailer brakes randomly but I can generate it almost 100% every time by just slamming on the brakes hard - sure enough brakes are gone on the trailer and the truck states, "Trailer Disconnected", "Trailer Brakes Disconnected". I have paid the diagnostic fees at GM, All the various dealerships state that the truck is working as designed. Mind you losing brakes going down a mountain 7% grade is wonderful with 2 grandsons in the truck. I have been dealing with this since NEW. GM will not address it till I either DIE, someone riding with me DIES, or I kill other people. They DO NOT SEEM TO BACK THEIR PRODUCTS! I spent 1.1k on new brakes, wiring the trailer, new polk plugs both the single blade and the dual blade, I even replaced the plug on the truck and trailer with the NEW 7 PIN MAGNETIC one (it rocks), but the problem is still there. My 2012 ford f150 NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM. So what is the deal?!? Why is GM waiting for people to DIE before they resolve these issues. Those with the 2024 seems to have a variant on the problem. I am out thousands of dollars with GM not knowing how to resolve this issue. etrailer now recommends I replace the factory trailer controller as a suggestion. I look at buying a new truck to replace this LEMON but they all are 11 to 15k more then what I paid for in 2020. I contacted a lawyer that states, I can't sell the truck knowing that the trailer brake situation exists without telling the new buyer. Like someone is going to buy it with this problem. I called Customer Care with GM, all they want me to do is take it in AGAIN, pay the non refundable diagnostic fee (EVEN IF THEY DON'T OR CAN'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM). How many more times do I give several dealerships attempts at solving this problem.
  3. Well my 2020 still shows NO recalls. So they won't do the recall on it. In addition, like you @Libertized, my brakes still squeal even though I took in twice for that before 14k miles and they said it is "working as designed". Good luck on the mileage.
  4. Your response is interesting. Mine went in twice for making the high pitch sound and both times they said it is "Working as Designed". They would not replace the pads. Mind you this is the same dealership that, after paying for oil change services, never put grease in the 9 fittings. I had to have another shop do that. Drove over 20k miles without apparently no grease in the fittings from the factory (new). Now with the repeated P0106 error at 38k miles and replacing the MAS sensor and still comes back on every 5 days, I am wondering if I truly own a lemon. Especially with the $135 diagnostic fee I paid when it was under 36k miles for them to tell me that the trailing brakes going in and out is a "Problem, but best of luck." - which is still a problem.
  5. Well I called and scheduled mine like I stated, they called me back though and stated my truck is not part of the recall. It's a 2020 2500hd diesel. She stated also that it appears my components are not impact by this. She canceled my appointment and said no need for it for my truck. SO what gives?
  6. So do I really want this done if it kills my mileage...
  7. I did but my vin shows no recalls at all. zero. Maybe that is why she asked for me to bring the card in there. Either way, we will see if they do the work. Thanks for all the info though. My truck is a 2020 2500hd 6.6 Diesel LTZ 4x4.
  8. Got my scheduled but they stated I needed a card to show that it is needed. Any ideas?
  9. How do we know we are impacted? Is this for all 2020 HD diesels?
  10. Any update on your status...
  11. I have these tires and have 31k miles on them. I will be getting most likely 45 to 50k out of them. They ride well, stability with my TT is just fine while towing, seem to be wearing great. I most likely will be getting them again.
  12. So I have figured out a solution for me. Have continued issues with the TT and blown #84 fuse, I ended up adding a direct ground from the trailer to the truck. Frame to frame ground. That solved all my problems. So now ontop of the 7 pin connection I have another wire (which I use quick connects for), that is a dedicated ground from TT frame to the truck frame. No issues anymore. Good luck everyone...
  13. I broke 30k and since I bought it new they have squealed. Conway, AR dealership stated several times that they are working as designed no issues with them squealing. Got to love it. Showed them instructions from GM on what to do. They have refused and stated it is working as designed. Good luck on if they will address it. Probably going to upgrade to PowerStops as I have NEVER had them squeal.
  14. Rough trip back from Aransas, Tx this weekend. 2020 2500hd diesel towing a 28' open range TT. I have 29k miles on it now. Took truck and camper a few months back to Colorado and had zero problems with trailer and hookups. On the way down and real close to my arrival location, right trailer light turn signal went out on this 2019 TT. So it would have appeared, but found out later that was false by the truck. Before my departure, I used cleaner and electronic grease on the connector on the TT. On way back from Aransas to Arkansas, truck kept stating trailer was attached and then not attached. Left, then Right turn signals, then no brakes on trailer numerous and infrequent times (great when you just don't know if you will have the same stopping distance that you had only moments before). Got online and found the #84 fuse was the electronic brakes was blown. Bought a replacement and it worked for 10 minutes then same problem again. Had to drive without trailer brakes for a while. Took it to RV shop ($190 bucks), had them test the trailer and replaced the main plug cable to the junction box, put a fuse in #84, worked for 10 more minutes then stopped at a GMC dealership. 2.5 hours later - they replaced the fuse and stated they have no idea what is wrong with it. Said, after my 180 dollar diagnostic bill that they can't figure it out and would requirement more time maybe a week, best of luck on your journey home. Brakes went in and out the rest of the way but the trailer lights worked. Fuse is blown again. Not going to lie, I wasn't a chevy guy for years due to poor quality. I took the jump on this 2020 and I can tell you that I am having a hard time with this. My 10 year old ford f150 NEVER had any of this type of problems. It did have a transmission module that went out but they quickly fixed it. Maybe with 5+ pages on this forum alone, maybe a class action lawsuit is in order. Just imagine if someone is towing and ends up rear ending someone due to the brakes on the trailer just randomly disconnecting while braking and then randomly reconnects. I am out 320+ bucks on this and no answer is in site. My local dealership in Conway, AR (Chevrolet - haven't tried the GMC one yet) has clueless individuals working there.
