I have a GM platform on a motorhome which is a 2002 model with a GM 8.1 Vortec engine. I was driving about 70 on the freeway and all of a sudden my tachometer showed zero and I lost all engine power. I pulled off and eventually was towed, but now I need to figure out what happened and what type of mechanic I should call.
The motorhome still has head lights and the AC fan blower works, so not the battery. The ignition key turns but no power to engine, lights on the dash, or clicking or cranking of the starter for the engine. Everything seems dead except the auto lights and AC blower.
Any ideas on what the problem might be?
