  1. Check all the clamps that hold the intake air tube from the air filter box to the throttle body are tight. Also make sure the rubber connections points are not cut or leaking. Any air that bypasses the MAF is not measurable and can cause this symptom or even make it seem the MAF is at fault. I've seen this on other vehicles that use rubber bellows that split due to dry rot.
