  1. I had the recall and the update to Android version 12 in October and it’s even worse than before. Google maps in particular will stop displaying until I reboot the system and the overall screen response is even slower, which I didn’t think was even possible with how slow it already was.
  2. I took my 2023 to the dealer 2 weeks ago and they applied an update. It still has a lot of bugs and have had maps freeze on the large and small screen. Honestly, this infotainment system is a slow POS. MY 2021 Sierrra had a much more reliable and faster system.
  3. The seats on my 21 AT4 felt like they didn’t have any padding and were uncomfortable. My 23 SLT seats are much better and have much more padding.
  4. There was an update for my 23 Sierra when I took it in last week, but had to take it to the dealer as it’s a major update GM can’t push OTA. it still didn’t fix the radio cutting out multiple times after startup and maps froze on me the next day requiring a reboot of the system. Whoever is in charge of this infotainment system should be fired with how buggy and slow it is. No way I’ll pay for services when my 3 years are up if they don’t fix these issues.
  5. There is an ECM update for the 2023 3.0. It covers a lot of codes. Take it in to the dealer and see if it applies. Here's the info on the TSB: https://www.gm-trucks.com/critical-fix-released-for-silverado-sierra-3-0l-duramax-with-check-engine-light/
  6. I just got a buy back offer yesterday for my truck. The GM case manager told me it would take 45-60 days to complete and if there is a fix available before then, I can get it fixed and then decide if I want to keep it or complete the buy back. I'm hoping there is a fix as I otherwise really like my diesel 1500 and would like to keep it. I have looked at Ford, Ram and Toyota, and I just don't like what they have to offer.
  7. I opened a case with the BBB last week. I was contacted by GM this week and we had a discussion on the issue and what my expectations were. The GM rep said they should get back to me by the end of the week. I live in Southeast Michigan (bought the truck right down the road from the GM Milford Proving Grounds, as ironic as that sounds), so we will see what their proposal is. Luckily, I took and shared a picture of the trailer failure message showing the truck only had 302 miles when this failure first appeared.
  8. I took the truck to the dealer this morning, they ran a scan and it threw a brake controller error in the ECM. They said GM doesn't have a fix yet and told me to come pick it up. I'll call GM tomorrow to see if I get the same answer that a fix is in the works. I'm still pretty upset that it has this serious safety flaw. I know my butt puckered a little when I hit the brakes on a 55 mph back road and the truck and trailer didn't want to stop like it should have. I live in Southeast Michigan and I'm wondering if the local news outlets would be interested in warning folks on a serious safety hazard with these new trucks.
  9. Had the same problem with my iPhone 14 charging for a second when I put i on the wireless pad and then stops charging second later on my 22 Sierra refresh. I pulled the wireless charging pad cover off of the center console and then put my phone back on the bare charger and it started charging normally. I left the cover off and put some gaffers tape over the bare charger to keep junk out of the console and the phone has charged normally for the last 2 weeks with no problems. I believe the problem is the wireless charging pad cover is too thick, and depending on the phone model, the phone can't charge at all, or if it can, it may limit how much energy it can put into the phone causing it to charge slowly.
  10. Add me to this list of the trailer brakes not working. Got the truck 2 weeks ago and last weekend took the camper out for the first time with the new truck. Brakes worked a short while, then got the same message and the trailer brakes wouldn't work at all. I pulled over, shut the truck off, disconnected the harness and plugged it back in. Same thing, worked for a shot time, then the error message and total loss of trailer brakes. After the third time of this nonsense I gave up. When I got home, I checked my wiring on the trailer and all was good. I know I didn't have a problem with the trailer brakes with my old truck and towed my trailer the week before I traded it in. This condition is highly dangerous and I'm surprised it hasn't been reported to NHTSA yet. I'm taking my truck in next week to have it checked out. If there really isn't a fix for this, then NHTSA, the Michigan Attorney General Consumer Protection Division, and my lawyer will be getting a call soon after.
  11. Update on this. After 5 business days, nobody from GM called me back. I called OnStar and talked to someone who looked at my account and said "I'll just remove your account and re-add everything back, give me a couple minutes". She put me on hold, came back a couple minutes later and told me that I was all set. I checked and everything was working again! What pisses me off was I specifically asked the "support tech" on my original call if they could just remove my account and set it up like new with the correct settings and was told that they couldn't. If someone else with a similar problem get this type of B.S. answer, insist on having your account reset, or call back until you get a competent technical support person.
  12. I just got my 2022 Sierra Elevation on Saturday, got the radio setup with OnStar, and went on my way. Yesterday, I noticed my maps weren't updating, and checking further, nothing was being updated while I was away from home. I called Onstar and they said that when they initally setup my radio, they forgot to add the unlimited data plan (my truck came with the mandatory $1500 three year plan). They transferred me over to their technical support people and after looking over my account, said they needed to escalate this to get the data enabled and it will take 3-5 business days before they could even look at it! I asked how they could set this up in minutes when I first bought the truck and why it would take so long to re-enable the plan. The person just told me me sorry, nothing they could do. As a further insult, they sent an email stating they would work as quickly as possible to fix my "complimentary unlimited data plan"(that I paid for?) with the same 3-5 day delay. Little bit of a rant I know, but not a very good initial customer experience, especially when GM is touting their all new interior. On the plus side, the seats are much more comfortable than last year's model.
  13. Just got a 2021 Sierra this month and had the same problem with my trailer backup camera not staying on. Got this $20 harness from Amazon and spliced it inline to my camera. Camera stays connected now. https://www.amazon.com/ASA-Electronics-GM-Camera-Harness/dp/B07ZQQ94VK/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=pwmbut+harness&qid=1627222576&sprefix=pwmbut+&sr=8-3
